Ugh, this is cruel. Patsy, Joni, Marianne... in one poll?

I thought the same thing (about Markolas being a smart alec)

Anyway I chose Billie Holiday - she's the only one on there that appeals to me, but I'm nowhere near as familiar with her stuff as I wish I were.

I went with Billie. I got a 8 disc boxed set of hers at a sale, and have loved her ever since.

Joni's winning! My faith in humanity is (temporarily) restored.

All good dreamers pass this way someday.

We've got several of her cds at work - I've been meaning to dump them into my mp3 player for weeks - I just keep forgetting to take it to work. But what I've heard I've absolutely LOVED.

Anytime I think of Joni Mitchell I think of Will and Grace..doesn't Grace get kicked out of a Joni Mitchell concert for singing to loud?

A. C. Jobim:
Mas pra que
Pra que tanto céu
Pra que tanto mar,
Pra que
De que serve esta onda que quebra
E o vento da tarde
De que serve a tarde
Inútil paisagem
Pode ser
Que não venhas mais
Que não venhas nunca mais
De que servem as flores que nascem
Pelo caminho
Se o meu caminho
Sozinho é nada
É nada
É nada

Marianne Faithfull - no question. Although Joni was choice number 2...

I have a CD by Ismael Lo and there is a duet with Marianne on there, pretty cool song, she's sure got a smoky sounding voice, kinda interesting :)
