Oh MissVicky, you really need to learn to be more opinionated ;) :xoxo:
That was a hard choice for me - in the End I voted for TISL because I'm daft and didn't realize we were voting for songs vs. albums
Either way - I really love both albums - BUT I skip a couple on TISL whereas I don't skip ANY on Belladonna....so.
As far as just the title songs go? I do like TISL a smidge better - mostly because it does not contain the word "phony".

Bella Donna. I love every one of those songs. As opposed to half of the songs on TISL.

No contest. Bella Donna is flawless. TISL has shining moments, but also some clunkers.

Bella Donna. If it weren't for Too Far from Texas & That Made Me Stronger, it would be a really tough call.

This is a tough question. TISL is in the CD player right now, so it's freshest in my head. If I were stranded on a deserted island with only a cd player and a cd, I'd have to take TISL with me, I think. But ask me again next week...
Granted, this question can never really be solved...which is better? We all bring our own experiences to her songs, and depending on which cd was in the player during certain periods of our life will necessarily influence and bias our individual affinities for particular albums. Can't we just all agree that they're both phenomenal albums?? And we love Stevie.....

I'm going 4 bd. It has Edge which is my all time fav, hmsl which is the sexiest song on earth, highwayman (LUUUUV IT), and glitter. tisl is a great album, but tfft and that made me stronger sorta make my choicce easier, and i think that the production 4 candlebright shoulda been a lot better.

I voted Bella Donna- Kind of Woman, Glitter, Edge; it's a CD I can listen to from beginning to end without skipping any songs.
That being said, TISL really grew on me over time. There are a few songs I could do without though, so...BD it is. Plus, I just think the whole overall Stevie-ness of the BD era was so incredible.

i voted for bella donna, but i think these album vs. album / love or hate / least favorite album threads are getting old - they're unnecessarily divisive and what is the point? they always become ridiculous. at this point, they're just a showcase for certain people to post their well-rehearsed, sometimes incendiary opinions. not much is happening in stevieland, but surely we came come up with something more analytical and interesting to talk about than rehashing which album we like better than another.

Totally. Im getting a little sick of hearing that my precious TISL is garbage. I have heard opinions before, and their is always room for healthy debate, but when people/albums start getting attacked, I do get rather defensive

That album has been like my best friend at times. And I can totally take critisism, but there is a difference between saying "I don't like TISL" and "TISL is garbage" - the latter I find a tad offensive....

I personally love both because each represents special moments and events in Stevie's life! I loved Bella Donna when it was released and played it over and over and still do just like I did and still do with TISL. I used to pick particular songs but now I just enjoy listening to both from beginning through to the very last song.

^ Hi! Welcome to the board. :wavey:
I'm torn. While I think TISL features some of her best writing in recent years (TISL, Love Is) and incredible vocals (TISL harmonies, It's Only Love) the production is a bit cold for my taste. I don't know how else to describe it. And I cannot tolerate I Miss You.
Bella Donna is fantastic. BUT, much of it has been very overplayed. I will never outgrow my love for Edge, but I've been skipping L&L for years now. Bella Donna & Kind of Woman are so incredible though.
I'm going with Bella Donna by a really slim margin.

I Miss You (and TISL, for that matter) has a special place in my heart. When my husband went into the hospital for 6 months, I used to play it a lot. When my step-son heard I Miss You, he kind of made it into something that reminded him of his dad (bless his little heart).
