well, it doesn't even have to be that freakish. Just anything you want to share: funny, odd, crazy, or down right freaky.
I thought it would also allow us to know what everyone does :)
well, I'm a dental assistant. I'd have to say the freakiest thing was a guy that came in with a "gum" abcess. He was not a patient of ours, but came in as an emergency. I guess the night before, it was hurting so bad he had to take matters into his own hands. The abcess was on top left, on the roof of his mouth. He took a steak knife and lanced his gum tissue. A STEAK knife!!! I think my heart dropped. Oh, I have plenty of "gross" stories (if that wasn't bad enough) but I'll spare you. I also worked at Victoria's Secret for a few years and came up with some gems. But we'll go with this one for now. !!
come on...I know you "legal professionals" HAVE to have some good stories!!!

^^ ya think??!!! aww.. that is sad though :(
I had a patient come in a couple of weeks ago. I SO love her. She's about 60 and she is so cool and everything. Well, her husband has Alzheimer's and while she was getting her teeth cleaned, he decided to take a stroll. The new girl up front didnt' realize his condition, so didn't think anything of it. When I walked her up front, she was freaking out, so I go running up and down the road COMPLETELY in panic mode. We eventually found him and I was so sad for days. :( A year ago I was sitting in the room with her and asked her about him and she just broke down crying. "I" was crying....But I was glad I could be there for her because that is what it's all about, but GEESH!!! I was a basket case the rest of the day :(

What an awful disease that is, it robs not only the person - but everyone around them :( That poor woman.

Bizarre work stories....
ooh...we were out covering a big murder deal (this was when I was working in Rochester) and a lady with a bat just started attacking the tv cameramen and reporters... I mean she let 'em have it - one reporter was hospitalized and everything.
-----
When I worked at Michael's Arts and Crafts...there were a couple of cute old ladies who came in their little overalls...very friendly - your typical cute old ladies.
Well I was going on break and I noticed them stuffing yarn and fake flowers into their overalls  I know being elderly and on a fixed income is tough..but come on!

My first job waiting tables was at a diner, when I was 18. I had a regular who would sit at a corner table and order a plate of fries. He would always flag us down in just a manner of minutes, and ask for a second bottle of ketchup, and at first we were shocked to see that he had already emptied the first. Pretty soon we started bringing him two bottles with the plate of fries.
One night, he was the only customer in the place, and I left him with his plate of ketchup and fries while I went to the walk-in to get a tub of some yucky pre-made diner food. When I came around the corner from the back of the house, I caught him drinking the ketchup. That's right, his head was tipped back, and the bottle was emtptying into his mouth. We had a moment: our eyes locked, I think he saw the pure horror and disgust in mine, and I saw the guilt and ketchup-loving despair in his eyes.

I worked at Spencer Gifts when I was a teenager. Not once, but twice! we had people in the middle of the store hit the floor and have seizures. Horrifing! It was the strobe lights in the back of the store going. We shut them off after the second time.
When I worked at Maplehurst (big bakery, factory setting) and I was pregnant, my water broke 12 weeks early. I had almost every woman who worked with me running (as fast as a freaked out pregnant woman can run) through the plant, looking for my husband, who worked there also. I'll never forget that.

We usually used bleach (on freaking everything, as my poor destroyed hands will attest) but I believe I threw those bottles out.
I used to like ketchup. I have many weird stories from that restaurant, but that was the shortest.

we played a joke on my lead worker. he was on vacation and we put up a sign on my supervisor's door and a note on his computer saying he was being transferred to another office. When he got back from vacation and heard the news, he was GRUMPY to say the least. I asked him to pose next to the sign I made and he did (he's a good sport even if he IS a grump) The program manager and assistant director were also in on it. We kept him hanging until the bosses day lunch. here is a pic:

I'm a deacon, in the Church of Ketchup! Seriously.
I keep a bottle on my family room coffee table, just so I don't have to run upstairs for one.

Hmm...nothing really bizzare ever happens at my work (I work in a kitchen in a nursing home). Once in a while, some dentures, remote controls, books, etc...end up on the trays at the end of the night, but thats the norm.
However, we (all the workers) have been caught once or twice by our boss, not working at all, singing and dancing along to Michael Jackson and Pat Benatar.

Where's the love?
Am I the ONLY person who puts ketchup on their scrambled eggs?
FWIW, I only do that if the eggs are so-so. Lately, I've got a dealer, who hooked me up right. I've been getting farm fresh eggs(more than I can even use, for free!). Now, farm fresh eggs ROCK, and usually have no need for ketchup.
Tru dat.

I'm sorry. I hate ketchup. I don't like mustard or mayo either.....
And so you use the ketchup to mask the taste????????
and I canNOT believe you just said "tru dat":distress:
mostly because I say it all the time..:o and...."solid" hahaha

I'm ADDICTED to flavor. I put hot sauce on most things I eat. That's why I love Mexican and Chinese. They have TONS of flavor. EVERY food can be improved with condiments!!!!! Condiments are our friends!!!:blob2: :blob2: :blob2:

I've said that forever. I did sound for Jurassic Five, a few years ago, and they said "tru dat" all through the show. Being the white crackers that we are, we mocked them for months after that. And I still say it!

Most bizarre on my day job?
hmmmm... probably the fact that I'm still there. ;)
As far as my internship in a psychiatric hospital?
.... never a dull moment.
I would have to say some of the staff is definitely on the "wrong side of the nurses desk" and should be admitted.
We have one tech who went on a Code where a patient became violent and therefore police had to be called in. This tech is a textbook model histrionic... exchanges phone #'s with one of the cops and is knocked-up compliments of him in a matter of days.
Now THAT beats any experience with the patients! uuuugggghhhh.....
Other than that? ....just another day in paradise. :wavey:

OK, this is not really a freaky incident, but an odd detail. One of the restaurants I used to work for in Seattle had been a funeral parlor. The place was beautiful, with ornate details, and high ceilings. The booths along the wall had dark velvet curtains you could close, and obviously were popular for romantic dates. I didn't like closing the place up by myself, on the nights when I tended bar, and was the last one in there.
