Oh dear. I can't believe I've just participated on a thread that had Satan (Mariah Carey's) name on it :eek:

there go my principles!! ;)

I chose Sarah McLachlan (thank your for actually spelling her name right). I adore her music...and though I enjoy a few songs from Madonna and Celine I like the majority of Sarah's music - so had to go with her.

I went with sarah although I really wouldn't consider any of these on my favorites list.

the bad thing is, I have 2 mariah carey cd's (early early)
1 N'sync and 1 justin timberlake cd and 1 sarah mclachlan cd

I would NEVER have a celin dion cd.

(and I had to change sarah's name 4 times to get it right.. SH**TTTEEEE!!!)

I voted Celine Dion since she does a smokin' version of It's All Coming Back To Me Now, which has been one of my favourite songs since I was knee high. of all those listed my second would be Abba.

What I would have put on this list would have been Black Sabbath, Eric Clapton, Rainbow, Whitesnake, Meat Loaf, Free etc.

Deanna's gonna kill me, but I went with Mariah. Vision of Love and Emotions were the **** to me when they came out. The last Mariah song I really LOVED was "honey", but that was awhile ago. Comparatively speaking, I like more Mariah songs then Madonna, Kylie, Celine, ABBA, etc.

:nod: She did - and her stuff after Surfacing - which is the album BAM is on - is good but not as good as I expected of her...she has a new one coming out soon - I'll pick it up, though I never could fully get into her last album.

Surfacing was the last album I just absolutely loved of hers....Afterglow is ok - but Surfacing may be my favorite...even over Fumbling Toward Ecstacy!

These are my favourite artists plus Fleetwood Mac, Lindsey, Stevie and Christine would be in the top 10 too

I do also like a few indie bands, Coldplay, Keane, The Killers, The Kooks

I like some modern RnB

But anyway I dont have to explain myself

I like what I like and am not some music snob like quite a few people who have graced this thread

Some of you others should do one of these threads :)

Yes, I suppose it's varied. None of it's my cup of tea at all, except for Sarah McLachlan.

You're welcome on the lyrics. After reading them, I realized the song is kinda odd in a way like if you just read the lyrics, without being familiar with the way the song sounds, they're - just okay. Some lines are thought provoking and pretty... but the haunting musical melody, the 80's techno drums and the way her voice was mixed with the trailing echoes, the highs and lows. It all helps to evoke emotions and I like that in a song.

It put a smile on my face to see Kate Bush currently up front on the poll at 25%.
