right now, my background is cyndi lauper. my desktop is pretty minimalist ... it bugs me to have too many icons on it. open that folder and you'd see the insanity my desktop would be if i didn't have that folder there. what does your desktop look like?

i have a disc the hubby bought on vaca it has a wallpaper that changes every 10 minutes & then the screensaver kicks in~ they/it are of the black hills~ the pics are so gorgeous i smile when i look at them~

i usually have steve/fm related theme, but these pics are too cool to pass up!!!~

that's a hot shot. it cracks me up that there's a delay between reality and the screens.

I love e-transcript viewer. it does so much. and it's user-friendly. unlike Summation, which I loathe.

This pic was taken at the last show of the American leg of U2's Vertigo tour last December. That's the whole crew out on the eliptical. I happily opted for nosebleed seats, the light show was beautiful. Then I bought the DVD so I could see what all I missed.

Ive got about 20-30 pix in that slideshow, a combo of pix of Ireland and some forest in (I think) British Columbia. I did a search for "foggy" images, and found some hiker's posted pix and copied what I liked but when I tried to find his link again I couldnt! ARRGH!! I love fog, dont you?

is it just me or does your Mac tend to really f'up your pictures? I don't know what kind you have, but I have a 17" iMac and all my pics turn out really grainy if they aren't super, super HD.

and as for my work computer? yuck. I'm such a Mac snob now.

ITA about the macbook being sufficient ... macbook pro is really only necessary for people in graphic design & **** like that. also, jaz, i would wait a while before getting a macbook. i have a friend who got one at the beginning of the semester, and has had some trouble with it. when i did some research to help her fix it, i found that a lot of people are having trouble with theirs because the technology is so new. i would wait for another generation to be released so they can get some of the kinks smoothed out.

all my Mac friends should download ClearDock. it's really cool. it clears the grayish color of your dock and makes it clear. I think you can also use it to change the color, but I haven't tried that yet.

oh, I didn't see this post earlier. I got the black MacBook. I prefer the black to the whites, but don't really know why. I guess because they're not glossy (my last laptop was super glossy and the constant finger/handprints bugged me like nothing else), they'd hide dirt better, etc. when I was looking at them in the Apple store and making a final decision, I almost went with the white but ended up sticking to my guns. I'm glad I did. and I'm also happy I get student discounts. hollaa.

really?! I think that was one that I tweaked. from what I remember I took 2, maybe 3 different ones I found, merged them and then added some of my own text. I think I got all from deviantart.com (love that place!)

My sister just told me she had uploaded it to there but recently took it down. It was actually a school assignment, she studies Multimedia Design. Here are the originals if anyone's interested. What a small world. :laugh:

I thought about the iPod thing, too. mine's white (I prefer white iPods), but I still went with the black MacBook regardless. I wish the cables that came with it would match, though, but it's not a big thing. I haven't noticed any fingerprint issues, but it could be attributed to my handwashing habits since I've been using my macbook. I wash my hands all.the.time. so I don't get smudges on it or anything. it's really sad.

I always love your avatars and such...do you change up your icons and themes?
my avatars here are just based on what tickles my fancy at the time.

for my computer(s), I usually just go with a wallpaper and that's it. I used to alter my color schemes to match my wallpaper when I was using Windows. so far on my macbook, I've adjusted my Adium background & window colors to match my wallpaper:
