Although mine was quite a few years ago, I still remember it like it was yesterday. (well....the high points anyway!) oh yeah. It started out innocent enough. Went out to eat with a few friends, drank a few mixed drinks. I have to add-the place we were eating at had a bar on the other side of the building and I used to work there. As soon as we were done, the red-headed sluts started flying. 6 later we head down the road to go bar hopping. I don't remember ever drinking that much. It seems like as soon as everyone got wind it was my 21st b-day they felt they needed to get me MORE drunk than I already was. Time to leave. It's 3:00 and I'm on the verge of the inevitable. My friend of a friend (which is even worse) drove me back home and I ended up throwing up in her Lincoln Navigator. claaasssyyyy!!!! I believe she was cleaning out the door pocket for a few days (or at least that's what I hear). I spent the rest of the evening sleeping on the tile floor of the bathroom and wishing I were dead. My mother took me to eat the next day. Being my 21st birthday, she wanted to buy me some type of alcohol, but there was no way. I took one wiff of her wine and had flashbacks from hell. I think it was at LEAST another week before I drank again.
Anyone care to share?

Lets see if I can recall....it wasn't all that exciting.
I know there was dinner with family. Then a friend picked me up - we were going to have a low-key evening at an area bar. So we went. We met a group of people we knew there and they found out it was my birthday (I wasn't shouting it from rooftops or anything) so they wouldn't let me buy any drinks.
I didn't get fall-down drunk, and it would still be years until I got sick from drinking. Pretty non-eventful. If I recall correctly I was completey bummed because the object of my affection went home to Pennsylvania for Christmas (my birthday is near Christmast) so I wasn't too keen to have a huge party. what a waste.

I vowed to make it to my 21 shots...we went to a bar and about 30 of my friends joined in on the fun. The waitress was so happy I had brought her all of this business on a Wed. night that she offered me free shots ALL NIGHT! Needless to say, I had EVERYTHING...Irish carbombs, Incredibkle hulks, Red headed sl*ts...I dont remember anything past shot 13, and my friends had to drag me out after shot 19!!! I threw up 4 times the next morning and probably had alcohol poisoning...
Needless to say, this was 2 months ago  LOL

That is so funny because I just KNEW that people would be buying me free shots all night. Uh, no. I did get hammered though, and that's about all I remember. I too, buttered up to the bartender and he took pretty good care of me. The hell with my cheap friends!

omg. you won't believe this, but reading that triggered a memory. ok, now. 21st birthday was the first time I did shots out of a test tube where both ends were open. you put one end in your mouth and the scantily clad waiter puts the other in his mouth and blows. well, I wasn't expecting that and it came out of my nose. sexy, eh?

Mine was on a FREAKING Sunday, when all the cool bars were closed. I went in the liquor store Sat night, at 11:58(two minutes before they closed), and didn't get to the checkout until 12:00(figuring that WHEN they carded me, they couldn't do anything, since it was now technically my Bday. Those bastards didn't even card me!!! I was soooo pissed, I mean, could I have been going in there for an additional year or two, if I'd had the balls to try it?
My BEST 21 Bday memory is taking my best friend from High School out for his 21st. He got totally wasted, and was running for the bathroom, and threw up, ALL OVER THIS BIG GUY IN A COWBOY HAT!:D All down the cowboy's pant leg! I apologized profusely for him, and told him that it was his 21st, and ODDLY, the cowboy was FINE with it! I'd have bet that we were about to be castrated.

Let's just say I haven't had a gin and tonic since. :D I wasn't a drinker before I was 21 (I know, weird, etc) and that was the drink suggested by my boyfriend. Great, thanks for the rubbing alcohol. Gin is so gross.

my friend drinks those. very gross.
my 21st was pretty crazy. i was also a non-drinker before then, and my friends got me wasted. i got free birthday shots at all the bars i went to, and at the one, the dude decided i was too cocky, so he made me a terrible, terrible shot called the horny scout master ... blue triplesec, bailey's, and some other disgusting odds and ends. i knocked it back, and it was nasty, but i was ok ... the bartender was pretty impressed and said he usually made it for asshole frat boys to knock them on their asses ... aside from that, i don't remember much, aside from teaching some calc to this kid i went to school with, and testing my sobriety by pronouncing "statistics."

No, that sounds cool. Free birthday drinks are the bomb. Wait, I forgot to add that I looked hot on my 21st. Very important.
Oh, and my whole family drove up to have dinner with me. Like 3 hours drive.
Um, wait..."Horny Scout Master"?!?!?

YES, it is! I think the drunkest I ever was, was on that damned Evergreen tasting dreck! And I experienced that twice!!!:distress: [stupid MF]
AMber, remember a couple weeks ago, when Kroger's had Raspberry Stoli for $5/fifth? They had TONS of Gordon's Gin for $5/fifth. I couldn't bring myself to even buy one.....(shudder). I can still remember hanging from the toilet rim, for hours, my friends knocking on the door, "David, what can we do?"
Me>"just go home, and let me die!".:p

the only purpose triplesec serves is to make people puke. the first party i ever went to, we tried to tell these HS kids not to drink blue triplesec, but they were going to show us how cool they were ... soooooo ... yeah, they ended up smurf-puking everywhere. and they were dubbed smurfs.

Sweeeet. Yeah, but all the bartenders I know (and seemingly, all my friends/boyfriends were bartenders for awhile) acted like it was so important for many drinks.
Highschool kids shouldn't drink. But if they do, they should ralf blue and be called smurfs ever after.
BTW, although Bea Arthur is very talented, your sig freaks me out. She's pretty ug.

it's funny you should say that! the dude who was making the drinks was my friend's bf, who was a bartender, and insisted that triplesec was god's gift to alkies or something.

aw man, that sucks!! I Do have a bloody mary story though. I used to LOVE those drinks. One time I went down to the bar (the same one as my 21st b-day) and I think I had 2 jaegermeister shots, a few beers, glasses of wine, some other piddly a$$ shots and then in between about 8 bloody marys. Well, I think the problem came when I put a big mound of pepper on top and stirred it it. It turned black and I insisted I liked it that way!! (I was totally wasted) I took the pepper shaker, threw it back into the bar (towards the EXPENSIVE liquor) and went on my "mary" way. Oh geesh...That was one hard night. I spent the entire evening in the fetal position promising never to drink again. Not to mention it was 6 years ago and I STILL to this day cannot drink blood marys.

I remember showing up to the bar, and a few pictures being taken. Everything after that is a blur. Apparently the Kami's were flowing, I smoked a pack of cigarettes in a few hours, and kept reminding everyone that I was indeed drunk off of my a$$.

Mine was so lame. Because my boyfriend was lame. He showed up with nothing because the jewelry store wouldn't take his credit card. No card, rose, nothing. Then he's sort of in need of sympathy from me because he ****ed up. :distress: It took about 3 mos to get that gift. We went to a restaurant and that part was nice. But what is wrong with him, seriously?

Blue triple sec? WTF?
Triple sec makes cosmopolitans & margaritas that much better. I love triple sec. When I was drinking it was one of the few things I managed to always keep in stock.
When I turned 21, my then boyfriend took me to PF Chang's... which would've been great, if it had been in the city, where we actually lived... instead, it was out in a BFE suburb that I had to drive to. Said bf doesn't know how to drive, so on my 21st birthday dinner, I had to cut off at two drinks so I could drive home. Yeah.

I had a BLAST on my 21st birthday. I was living in LA at the time. I went out to dinner w/ a group of friends to the Cheesecake Factory in Marina Del Rey. I did drink a lot, but I also ate a lot. I had to catch a red-eye flight from LAX to San Antonio the same night, more about that later...
When we left the restaurant, my boyfriend thought it would be cute to pick me up over his head, hold me in various poses and spin me around in the parking lot. My mouth hit a parked car's bumper and I got a fat lip. No blood, just swollen. Pretty.
My cousin in Philadelphia was having her engagement party and my dad was flying me into San Antonio to meet w/ the family there, and then we'd all fly to Philly together. From Philly, we went to Atlantic City. Saw Sammy Davis, Jr. perform on Xmas eve. My dad came up to me while I was playing slots, smoking and enjoying a cocktail. He said to me, "Look at you, drinking, smoking and gambling. What kind of daughter did I raise?" Heh.
From Atlantic City, we rented a limo to New York City. Our limo driver looked like Frank Zappa. My step-mother and step-grandmother both fell asleep. My dad, step-brother and I, watched a video of "Motel Hell."
My step-mother had never seen snow in her life. It snowed while we were in NYC, and w/ the holiday decorations, it was just gorgeous!
That was probably my best b-day ever. :D

Well since I was 5 months pregnant on my 21st, I'll tell ya about my 20th.
I was living in Savannah and the Kitchen Manager at the restaurant I worked at, Gladys, her birthday was 2 days after mine so we decided to have a double birthday party. We had it at Kenny's Lounge, a prodominatly black bar. Which doesn't bother me one bit, cause I love hangin' with my brothers and sisters. :D
When I got there I was ready to start drinking so I buy a couple of Miller Lite's and everyone was like what are you doing? It's your birthday you don't but your own drinks. FYI: I NEVER turn down a free drink. So I had like 3 beers, a double shot of 252 (bacardi 151, wild turkey 101!), some fruity drink from the bartender and other stuff that I don't remember. Well they have karaoke and the guy spinning the tunes was this white guy that held a wooden spoon  and I asked if he knew any FM. So I was seranded with a fabulous rendition of Rhiannon. I was also booty shakin' with my sisters and pulling guys from the bar to dance with. They said I danced for like 2-3 hours. We ended up closing the place. Of course I felt a little ill but I think I sweated it out dancing. Cause any other night I'd be puking.
Also that night when I got back to my apartment, well I'll just say me and Damian consider Oct. 6th our special "anniversary".

i only remember portions of the evening. i don't remember what we did during the day. i don't remember if i saw my family or not.
i started the evening with 2 pitchers of long beach tea from vito's. i was probably drunk then, but we left there pretty early to head to the next place, called the otter. i drank a boat load there, i'm sure, because i remember multiple martinis, a margarita, and then starting in on the rum. (don't get me started on rum or vodka, cuz then i'm drinking til i'm gone.) they probably should have cut me off at some point, but when all your friends are bartenders, that doesn't really happen.
i woke up at home the next day, but i don't know how i got there or anything else really. it's been a long time since i've remembered details about my birthday. since it's january 2, my friends and i just usually start celebrating on dec. 31st and keep it up until like.. the money/drugs/booze's gone, somebody dies (that hasn't happened) or we have to work, i guess.
i miss my party days just a little, but not enough to get tied up in all the **** i used to be in again. i'm all clean except for grass and beer, with the occasional cocktail.

My friend's 21st was as it should be cuz she has 2 big sisters. We took her to Boston in a limo. But first we had a stripper at the house. Oh that was so funny. The bar hopping was a blast too. We danced and laughed and otherwise carried on. The stripper made Shauna drink champagne from his chest. Lol, it was too much. Of course she said it was gross cuz his body was all oiled up. I passed on my turn.

The one thing I remember (well, I actually DO remember more, but I'm sworn to secrecy STILL...or, let's just say I've lost contact with the person who got me to take that oath and to this day, I haven't been released from it), was that my parents threw a surprise party for me. A whole bunch of my friends & family were there. One of my friends gave me a 1-L bottle of Jose Cuervo Gold Tequila. Well, I proceeded to break open the cap and take a swig straight out of the bottle...then I passed it to the person to my right, then started back in on opening presents. About a half-hour later, I get a tap on my shoulder and somebody handed me the bottle back...EMPTY!!!! Oh, well, thanks for the tequila. All I got from the bottle was about a 2 oz swig.
