I havent seen any of the shows but obviously am bothered he's not doing "Down on Rodeo", a highlight of his new album. I think his "Out of the Cradle" stuff is genius but nice to see him doing things like Murrow. I think he should replace Go Insane with Street of Dreams.

considering he did "the dance" version of GI, I probably would have preferred that as well. I love the album version, but hate that spooky eerie version that he does.

and I love the way he says "loooooosers" in the studio one:cool:

i have to say i'm a little disappointed he's not doing any of Out of The Cradle.
Although I know this is all about the new stuff and being current - which I support whole-heartedly.
Maybe he should do a cover from Joni Mitchell's Blue album and then follow it up with a Radiohead song.

OMG..you HAVE to listen to it. The chorus was a little much for me at first, but I love the way he sings the verses (even though there really aren't any "clear" verses:laugh: " and the guitar. One of my favs of Lindsey's.

ewww..i'm the opposite. The Dance version of Go Insane is class, the album version is WAAAY too dated.

^^ha..I just remember watching the dance for the FIRST time. I had only been a FM fan for about..oh...2 weeks. I was not familiar with anything really. But when he came out and did that song (I had never even heard the orginal) My friend and I said.."hmmmm....someone needs to lay off the strong stuff" It's too dark for me. I like the upbeat temp of the other.

Well its a pretty dark song anyway...I think the sound of the "original" version made too light of the subject matter. Kinda how GYOW is a f*ck you kinda song but sounds really pop-happy.

GREAT idea but I gave up hope on that song ever getting done live a long time ago! Then again, they broke out "I Know I'm Not Wrong" on the SYW tour...

I am shocked he's not doing Down on Rodeo...and SGCYM because they were both spec-freakin-tacular on Soundstage. I am also disappointed at no OOTC stuff, that is mind boggling.

I think he put his setlist together especially for me because he's doing ISA, Go Insane (I am sooooo excited to see/hear this live for the first time!!!), Under the Skin, and Holiday Road (!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Cannot freakin' wait!! 2 weeks from today is my first show in Chicago!!!!!!!

For coming out with an album that he didn't want electric songs interfering with "the concept", I'm disappointed he's not really keeping with "the concept" of the new album for the tour, as well. I just think he should come out and play the album all the friggin' way through, take a break and come back and play other material. He's playing just way too many of his Fleetwood Mac songs for my taste. UTS is his FOURTH solo album (fifth if you count GOS)...this is a Lindsey Buckingham tour, not a Fleetwood Mac tour. He has enough solo material to pack a concert set: including the old, the new & also give us a preview of the upcoming "rocker" album, too. Sure, GYOW is a given...and maybe a couple of other obscure tunes of his from FMac days, and I'll give him playing tunes from SYW, since his tunes from that were basically a solo album anyway. No "The Chain", or "World Turning" or "Second Hand News" or whatever else he's copped out & included in the set. :distress: (although, I'll also give him anything from Tusk since his tunes were basically a solo album within a Fleetwood Mac album.)

I would love to hear:

Tango in the Night - Even thought it's a FM song I think it would rock.
Countdown - At least a couple of OOTC would be nice. I would like Don't Look Down too.
Down on Rodeo - One of my favorite solo songs.
Slow Dancing - I think it would be fun to hear.

Someone's Gotta Change Your Mind
(Lindsey Buckingham)
(Various Artists) Reprise Records Presents Music For
The 12th Annual GLAAD Music Awards/Under The Skin

Little children
Out in the rain
Slippin' and slidin'
Covered in pain
Bodies broken
Soaked to the bone
Little children
Going on home

I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know
Someone oughta make 'em feel fine
And so, and so, and so, and so, and so, and so
Someone's gotta change, change your mind

Flying down Juniper
Freeway of lines
Well, I'll go on home
Kiss it goodbye
Mother and father
Covered in snow
Little children
Going on home

I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know
Someone oughta make 'em feel fine
And so, and so, and so, and so, and so, and so
Someone's gotta change, change your mind
I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know
Someone oughta make 'em feel fine
And so, and so, and so, and so, and so, and so
Someone's gotta change, change your mind
Mind...
Mind...

Another to prove <--I do believe it is "nothing to prove" but I could be wrong
Your blood is mine
I have no children
Just some design
Woven mystery
It fills up this womb
No little children
Left to go home

I would have liked to see Soul Drifter (mainly for mother, because that's her favorite).. Walk A Thin Line, Time Bomb Town, and Shut Us Down.

Well, really, I wish he'd just stand up there and go through every song he's ever recorded. And some he hasn't. Hell, I'll listen to anything he sings.

I hate to bitch, because I'm so thankful he's touring at all really. I never thought I'd see the day, to be honest. But, here are my thoughts anyway.

I too am shocked that he's completely skipped OOTC. Seems odd. I've love to at least hear Countdown.

I agree the set is way too Mac heavy (hear that Chili? I agree with you! ;) ) Sure, I'll know all of those tunes & they'll be great live. But I'd much prefer more solo work - from all eras of his career.

If he feels he has to use that much Mac, then a "never done live" tune would have been cooler - TITN or Steal Your Heart Away would be my picks. I think Taku would kick ass on percussion on SYHA. I like that he did SMAP the other night - but not sure if I'd want that to stay in, or rotate out with some other rarely done tunes.

Sure. But, to include them in this tour's set list is crap. He's touring with Fleetwood Mac next year, save 'em for that. (so we can bitch about them then, too! )

He wrote 1/5 of "The Chain", and 1/2 of "World Turning". Both are inappropriate for a Lindsey Buckingham solo concert.

For being such a freakin' "visionary", he's playing this set list WAY too safe. No OotC tunes at all, only one from L&O, only an overplayed reworking of the title cut from Go Insane.

And, as I said in my previous post..for bitching at the record company about them wanting to dilute his "concept" of UTS, he's choosing WAY too few UTS songs for the set.

In my oppinion the set list is very crappy. For somene who has never been a big start as a solo artist to launch a tour where most of the stlist consists of tried and true standards that everyone knows is a slap in the face to the die hards that have supportted him all these years and wil continue to do so. Why he is only performing one song off of his first two solo albums is beyond me. As well no OOTC songs is jsust wrong. In my oppinion I liked the idea someone posted of playing the entire UTS album, taking a break and then comng back with a set where he plays other material from Fm and his solo career. I don't mind a few staples but most of the Fm songs he is doing were done on the last tour so to me it makes the set seem stale. I am sure my Boston show will be fantastic but if this is the setlist I don't imagine I will be seeing him next year should he come my way.

Well, it was nice to see Lindsey do a solo show but I think that the lack of OOTC material, not to mention again the lack of material from his first two solo albums and the short set is a little disappointing plus relying on Mac material too much (2 Mac songs would do). I would love to have heard more songs for UTS and like I said dig deeper into the three solo albums prior. He was in a good mood on Tuesday in NYC but from other posts I gather he has had some moments. I hope he is still in good spirits when he plays Foxwoods on Saturday. Just my thoughts on this. Still love him but I wish he would really give us something that would leaves us with our mouths hanging open in awe!!

Well, it was nice to see Lindsey do a solo show but I think that the lack of OOTC material, not to mention again the lack of material from his first two solo albums and the short set is a little disappointing plus relying on Mac material too much (2 Mac songs would do).

curious...what was the setlist for OOTC?

Yes, this was his set with the guitar army and percussion community. He did Holiday Road at the New Britain Ct show.:blob1: :blob2:

Well... I'm thinking if all those old Mac songs get roars of applause at the shows, that's probably why he's doing them. Same as those old tired songs that Stevie does. There are more people who go to concerts that aren't rabid fans, like we are, than not. Those casual fans want to hear songs they know and love the most, the ones that were on the radio or whatever. Guarantee if he didn't play them, those folks would be b*tching the whole way home in the car... "why didn't he play Big Love or NGBA" - seriously. And maybe they would never go to another LIndsey or Mac show. So you see, he HAS to do those songs.

When the day comes these guys go out and play small venues and play nothing but new stuff or obscure stuff, then we can have OUR day. I understand there are artists who do that, just can't remember who off the top of my head. Like they play a different set each night... even U2 mixes up their sets every night. That's cool. But then you'd be pissed if you decided not to go to this show or that show and they ended up playing some song you've been dying to see for years, but you've already been to 6 shows and they didn't play that song at any of those shows.

That's why we have to collect money and come up with a mutually agreed upon set list.
