It's EXTREMELY messed up. The mom dancing in the mirror still makes me shudder, and that "Cock a doodle doo" song creeps me out. What a wierd choice to study..but I suppose there wouldn't be a shortage of things to talk about.

We are studying it due to its lack of a real narrative, but yeah, totally messed up. I have always had a real fear of hicks and white trash, and this movie totally confirmed my worst fears
The worst part is how they kill all those cats - I felt really ill. And the part where the man pimped out his retarded sister, and watched the boys having sex with her - really sick ****...

It's been awhile since I have seen it, so I forgot (fortunately) about the part with the retarded sister. The sickest part is that there is probably some truth to it all.
As for what you said about the hicks, I agree with you. I've always said that I would rather be smack dab in the middle of the most violent ghetto or in the garden spot of Baghdad before I would go to some backwoods inbred hick white trash town. Those people are the scariest of all.

I had a friend that was ape**** over this, Ed Gein and some other movie and I'll be damned if I can remember the name of it now...crap. anyway, I never watched it since Ed Gein pretty much grossed me out.
EDIT: just remembered...Memento

Well, some parts of the movie was real footage - so there is definately some truth to it!

Absolutely. My fear stems from a X-Files episode I watched as a young'n, that had a mother with no arms or legs on a skateboard under the bed, where all the brothers, sons and God knows what else took turns having sex with her - I was so terrified that I could not sleep properly for weeks
I also watched the movie "Wrong Turn" not long ago, and had to turn it off at certain points because I was too scared to keep watching

that movie is messed up! fake things (monsters, etc.) don't really bother me...it's the real **** that could happen that scares me.
btw, I just saw Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning. pros: 2 hubbalicious boys, cons: not worth the film it's printed on.

Isn't it!! The worst part is when they are sneaking out of the house after they have all fallen asleep, and they are just about to close the door behind them, and the lead actress looks up, and the hill-billy is staring right at her
That was the first out of three times I had to stop the film

Stupid huh? The ending is probably the worst part - with the real footage of the policeman being attacked..

It scares you too!!! I remember everything about what I saw 10 years later - it literally terrified me. I stopped watching after the part where the hicks drove up to that black mans house and broke in through the front door, and bet him to death with a baseball bat while his wife was hiding under the bed :distress:
Actually, I wouldn't mind re-watching that episode. I think that maybe I could handle it now

Good luck to you. A friend of mine made a tape of all of these super scary moments from TV and the movies so of course scenes from that episode made it onto the tape. That was two years ago, and I had to leave the room when her "face" came on the screen.

I think it is in the new one - or maybe its the older one. Im pretty sure it was the newer one - the black and white footage right at the very end...

must have been the old new one. like the one that came out a year or two ago. but even then, I can't believe it's real footage cause the whole thing is based on Ed Gein and is made up anyway.
right?

You're thinking of the remake they did a couple of years ago. The one with Claire's hot boyfriend from Six Feet Under. Although I don't think it is real footage. Just meant to look that way.
The new TCM movie that was just released last week (here in the US) is a prequel to the movie done a few years ago. They did this back in the 80's to the original original too.

i have never seen gummo, but 1 of the girls in the film Chloë Sevigny was also in this "Julien Donkey-Boy"~ man was that film out there, out there like the 1 you are talking about~
i was just looking up the 2 films & i guess they are written both by the same guy, tho he uncredited on "julian donkey boy"~
