Weeeeellll..Let me start out by saying I had a HELLUVA good time!! It was one of the best concerts I've been to and Lindsey ROCKED Nashville.

Now-The evening started out with us getting lost. We took the wrong exit so I was terrified we were going to be late. We pulled into the parking garage, threw the 5 dollar bill at the guy and screeched into a parking spot. In the meantime-I'm trying to find the most inconspicuous place to put my digital camera so it's not to be seen. I went with mylittledemon's advice and stuffed it down my shirt! I had a jacket on, or else I NEVER would have been able to get away with it! We ran inside and the place was gorgeous. I could feel the energy, and I told my friend-I seriously think I'm in the presence of a genius. And I was.

We found our seats, and then I went to get booze. If you didn't know, the Ryman used to be an old church so the seats were pews. We were sitting next to a couple from Nashville who said they had watched Lindsey's Soundstage and said if they ever got the chance to see him live, they would go. They were almost as excited as I was! I prepared my camera for massive picture taking (turning off the flash) and I was ret to go.

I guess about 20 minutes later Lindsey walked out and he was pure yummy perfection. Wearing the blue jeans, black shirt and black leather jacket. I think most people have listed the setlist so I won't repeat all of that. I do have to say that my absolute favorite song from the new album now is It Was You. My friend and I played that all the way back today. As someone else said (sarah, dena?) every time he said his children's names, the crowd went WILD!! I almost cried it was so touching. I know he felt the same because I would think only "die hard fans" would know about that, so it was really a neat thing :D
When trouble came on I almost didn't recognize it since it was a very low key version of the song.
Never going back again came on and I decided this would be a good start to begin recording on my phone. I had it all planned out. My phone would hold about 10 minutes of recording and I could send it to my email, erase and record away again. Yeah-that was the plan. Sorry ledgies. As I was recording the pure beauty that is Lindsey Buckingham, (blatantly I should add:shrug: ) Security nazi came with her snarled up snout, razor sharp teeth flaring and waived her finger at me while shaking her head. She waived her FINGER at me!! I was in trouble!!! I thought about getting snippy with her, but we were only 3 songs in. I couldn't afford to get kicked out!! So I closed it up and ACCIDENTALLY erased what I had. (Sorry Ledgies :( :( :( ) By this time, I was thinking there needed to be a fast song coming up (3 slow ones previous). Ask and you shall receive. Second hand news. I jumped out of my seat like someone had just set my seat on fire. NO ONE stood up (I was in the balcony) I kept thinking.."what in the hell is WRONG with these people??!!!" Big love was awesome as always. I'm always a sucker for a hot man thrusting back and forth with his guitar going "OH, AH!!" Did anyone else notice-it seemed like maybe the second or third before the last "oh, ah" he messed up, or there was a stall. Just wondering. Go Insane, as mentioned-he got the verses backwards. I'm ASSUMING he did that on purpose, but who knows. I like the studio version better.

Tusk-They started with the background noises, but when he actually started singing I hardly recognized the song. It didn't have that drum riff (does percussion have riffs?? ha ha) that I love so much. Taku started it later, but not in the intro. Still brilliant though. Another thing to add, by this time I was up in my seat and did not give a damn who I was bothering. If you're at a concert and it's rocking, you should stand up!! (my balcony people sucked!!!)

I LOVED LOVED LOVED Holiday Road and the barks at the end. I got a picture of him when he fell on the ground and laid there. My little lady next to me asked if was going to give him mouth to mouth to resuscitation him. I told her I was CPR certified and if need be, I would do my good samaritan duty!!!

A couple of afterthoughts-I did NOT know Nicole and Keith were there!! I miss everything!!! ha ha

So cute-there was a girl that was on the floor and ran up to the stage to touch Lindsey. I'm pretty sure she did, because when it was over, she ran back to her seat (maybe about 10 rows back) and jumped in the guy she was sitting next to's arms. She was so excited that she had been able to touch him!! (lucky b*tch... )

well..I have some pretty decent pictures to post, but I canNOT get photobucket to work, so as soon as I do, I will post them (I KNOW you all want to see the pic of him on the ground. I just wish I had gotten it sooner when his legs were up in the air!!)

so to all the people going to a Liddy concert this tour-You are in for a treat!!
Peace :)

Hi Michelle,

So, you were in the balcony, huh? You had a great view from up there I bet :) I was about 10th row on the floor, but way over on the edge. I cannot believe she waved her finger at you!! I saw people from all over with cameras (wished I had ignored the rules and brought mine ;) ). I met these 2 really nice girls from Kentucky after when I was waiting for my ride on the back side of the theater. They had video AND pictures!! They took my email address and promised to send me some~ I hope they do!! So, there were not many people around ( I think b/c everyone was around the corner waiting by the limo) and all of a sudden a black Expedition pulls up and out of the back door and down the stairs comes Keith and Nicole. They didn't look around and got into the car fast. But, I think it was cool that Keith, being a guitar man himself, admires Lindsey. I wonder where they were sitting and how they snuck them in? The floor was only filled to about 2/3's of the way back.

I KNOW!! I too couldn't believe that people were just sitting and not getting up more. I had a clear shot to the stage being that my seats were right on the edge and I was just waiting for the beginning of GYOW to make my way to the front. I still cannot believe that I played his guitar and touched his hand while he was playing! I still think it is funny that he has a wallet in his back pocket while in concert~ don't know why, but I do :) Yes, I agree that I think he must have known there were some diehards in the audience when we screamed for his children's names. Did you see how excited he was when he said of William "Love him and watch him grow". No one close to me "got" what was going on and wondered why we were screaming during these specific parts of the show.

I totally missed that Kristin was there. How awesome would that me to hear your husband singing those songs to you? :) Glad you had a great time!

Great Review - I hate BS security people. I mean WTF - its not like anyone recording it is gonna make any significant money off of it and most boot guys I know would NEVER pay etc. Whatever.

Anyhoo - glad you had a good time!

During Never Going Back Again, a lady sitting directly in front of me decided to call someone on her cell phone!! Yes, she made a phone call during the song to let someone know she was at the concert and "it sounded pretty good."

If that lady is reading this, PLEASE, Never Do That Again!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So rude.

I doubt someone like that would be a fan and would be on 'the ledge'

You're too polite, you should have clubbed her!! :)

Ban phones from concerts and allow cameras I say!!

This was SO awful! I swear the whole place could hear her...I wouldn't doubt if Lindsey could hear her too! She was like "Yeah, I'm here. He's doing some Fleetwood Mac stuff, it sounds pretty good" Someone finally said..."SHUT UP!" in a loud whisper. It was awful. We were just like....wtf??

There is always at least one at every show. I am shocked she wasn't right next to me, I am usually a magnet for annoying chatty people at concerts, usually they are talking loud to eachother, not on cells though. The cell thing is particularly egregious. Lucky everyone near me at the front was VERY awesome! Totally super fans!

Well, it wasn't me. I called someone but didn't say a word. She just wanted to hear "trouble" so I left it on her voice mail.

Yes, it's very annoying when people talk on their cell phones, especially if it is during a quiet song, or intense guitar solo (ie-never going back again, I'm So Afraid).

and I'm sorry-I'm still trying to get pictures loaded :( I'm having to email them to a friend to upload to photobucket. I promise as soon as I get them I will post. :)

cool...thanks Michelle. Certainly seems intimate upfront...pressed to the stage with no barrier and it appears the balcony seats provided a good view.
