the studio and their hotel rooms would have to be completely padded with no sharp or breakable objects. but i'd love to see what they could come up with together.

great

Thanks for posting! :xoxo:

I would die-ie-ie. My god. I'm sure we all would die. Touring with BN? It's like the wet dream of the millenia.

Thank god one of those bitches is smart. lol.

But I can see how it would be hard to remain on good terms. LB is kind of a...difficult and temperamental and exacting spirit with his music, and SN, though probably better at getting along, but has more vanity and political (labelwise, moneywise) shiznitt surrounding her entity, which has probably made her more cocky and inflexible about her "music". Man, they are like a rat and a boa. *rolls eyes vehemently*. Although I think Stevie is the most likely concilatator.

Besides whatever is surrounding them, I think the two still have difficulty getting along. Even if there were no "people" and "obligations" and "money".

I can only hope that both of them recognize how brill BN is, and just take that **** out. They are brilliant singers and writers, does it all have to be so planned?! Have some fricking rehearsals, coalesce the music, and take it out! Minus the BS. As if. Oh, and as if Stevie could still sing it. Could she? :(
Probably, if adjusted. *crosses fingers* Still, everything isn't as hard as those two make it. If they would just leave each other alone...then sing together...

And I love how Linds seems to have come full circle, gotten over things, and recognized where the great music is no matter the rest. That is my true pure vision of the perfect Linds, the Linds broken down to his true being - the one without jealousy and bull****, the one who only cares about the music. That is Linds's happy spirit, his true self. The one that will set him free.

You are never free if you are begrudging someone else their success, and you are most free when you celebrate others successes.
He's so smart, but couldn't figure that out/accept it emotionally, before.
He's so brill but lhas let it get caught up in some stupid sh*t that doesn't matter. I know, it's hard, truly I know. :(

So, I'm so very, very happy that he seems free now.
Stevie is Stevie, Linds is Linds, and apart they are brill, and together they are brill, and none should detract from the other, and when they are together, they should only be the best and add expotentially to the other's brill. Everyone's brill is different, and sometimes you have to wait for the recognition, and sometime the recognition will be different for you than it is for someone else - because you are you, you are not them, you have your own special stuff to be recognized for. And the kudos for others never, ever, takes away from your talent. It is just that you were meant for different kudos, kudos not like Stevie's kudos. And the more you work against the flow, the harder it will be. Whoever else makes you sound great is a blessing. Which is, oddly, a lesson I think Stevie understood early, but that Linds had a hard time grasping. She worked with everyone, and knew she was best with a group, knew her strengths.
Linds was a loner, which is fine - but just b/c you want all your stuff to sound how you want it doesn't mean everyone else's stuff is crappy. You can make a whole album by yourself, and it can kick ass, but that doesn't mean you have to disparage what other artists do, and be petty and not sign that copy of Belladonna. lol. The more bad energy you reap, the more you sow.

To put it simply in real life: All my friends are beautiful, talented, and accomplished (or some combo) - And I may not be beautiful or talented or accomplished in the same ways - but that doesn't make me resent them - it makes me celebrate! I could be jealous, but why bother, because I will never be them, they will never have my strengths and I will never have theirs. Sure, it's hard sometimes - but it's never logical to resent someone's success just because it wasn't you . And theirin lies LB's whole lesson. It is hard though, I might have been pissed if I was LB - but not for that long. I would've just been like:

"yeah, she's more famous and beautiful and blah, which sucks ass, but I'm the one who arranged all that ****, and girl can't play guitar or piano, and I can - I made up all the rest of those kick ass songs after the melody - and yes, it would be nice to get mass acknowledgment for my production on Rumours and everything else - but the point is that I did produce it, I accomplished that, and everyone in this band, and me, knows it. I have that skill, that others don't have! I kick ass, my talent is undeniable"

Is what I would have said if I was Linds. And I still might have been jealous or pouty, but I would have gotten over it way sooner, and realized that those feelings are holding me back from my art and my life.

Okay, Done, Lindsey Stevie speech over.

^^ what she said. :xoxo:

i think stevie could still do her BN shiz. i don't think those songs really cover a wide range, do they? if they were lowered, i bet she'd be fine. omg, can you imagine her doing crystal? i'd die. or don't let me down again? that one's my favorite. i was just listening to a live version from the king biscuit flower hour they did on 5/3/75, and it was awesome. why they ever dropped that song, i'll never know. it's up there with blue letter and i don't wanna know as far as great BN harmonies for me. dude, that show was great. as soon as i get home next week, i should post my favorite tracks.

Thanks, girl, missed you - but actually I think BN does cover a wide range. I still marvel at the harmonies. We've heard Crystal, haven't we?

But - I think her new voice has good fluidity, it would all just have to be done in lower keys. It's not like she can't sing now, it's just different. She still can fluid around some notes like I never seen - they're just really low notes. :p
I love DLMDA, and can you send me the King Biscuit? :o Because I would die. Oh, okay, next week when you get home.

I think Stevie would love that show, the BN one, too - she likes to show her vocal chops, and there's no denying her chops have been at maximum chop form, lately. The bad part is that she seems to get so crabby when playing with Linds. :distress: I'm pretty sure he's a secret a-hole. I don't want it to be so, but Stevie is fairly easy going, for her to have that face during the second leg of SYW is frightening - I don't want to see that face again. Ah, if only TP could sing the BN tracks with her. (I'm kidding, everyone, don't spaz out).

yeah dude, i'll totally send you king biscuit, because you will LOVE it!! i actually was going to, but i am at a hotel, and the connection is SO slow. but seriously, the sound quality is so good. and her voice ... it is my favorite early landslide. it's all so good.

maybe BN does cover a larger range ... i guess i don't notice because she never sounds strained. but like you said, her voice has a fluidity now that is really stunning.

oh, and the TP thing -   ... only because i know some people will flip at that.

I know, it's not as throaty today. 2 days ago, though - no singy, anything. I think the throaty adds some kind of normal thing to my vocals.

Less not have your version be too perfect - everything Stevie should sound like improv, just like Stevie does!

Totally... how many years has the fan base fantasized about a BN tour? There's definitely someone in his/their camp who reads fan-ernet sites. I'm just glad they're "listening" and (seem to) care about what we want.

Stevie and Lindsey? Well... that combination will NEVER have the proper PH. They're too much alike. Yes... you heard me... ALIKE. Stubborn, egotistical and extremely creative. And we're so happy the end result is some fantastical music for US. :xoxo:

I have faith in their higher reasoning that they absolutely could pull off a BN tour. And can't wait until it happens. My not so brilliant guess is they will remaster and reissue the CD around that same time.

BRING IT ON!! :blob2:

it's been said a couple of times... but my reaction, too, was:

i. would. diiiiiiie.

i wonder if lindsey is talking about this now to sort of float the balloon... see what the reaction is like, see if it would be a worthwhile venture - ie. would the fans be interested? i hope he reads this board!

at this point, i almost hope BN is never released on CD. keep it a classic LP, hard to come by, a treasure when you do. i will never remember the feeling when i found mine about 16 or 17 years ago at a record collectible conference (no ebay!). i had been searching garage sales, rummage sales, rock collectible conference for years. when i found it, i literally gasped - and i don't think i breathed until i got it home and listened.

i think lindsey and stevie touring buckingham-nicks would be absolute magic.

Dito. Screw all this past orientated revival stuff which costs and steals time from new creative and inspired music projects of his own.Bah. Lindsey was away from Fleetwood Mac for an entire decade and only managed to record one album and partially finish a second. As far as poor time-management, he's his own worst enemy -- not anyone else.

I'd also like to mention that, despite the fact that no one in Fleetwood Mac is breathing down his neck in regards to song choices out on the road, about 75% of his current setlist was written more than 20 years ago. He's also performing more Mac songs in his solo set than Stevie has ever performed in any of her solo sets (and I didn't even include "Red Rover" or "Bleed To Love Her" in the tally).
Talk about "past oriented revival stuff"!

So, IMO, arguments about the members of Fleetwood Mac holding Lindsey back really don't hold much water these days.

When was the last time FM performed 7 new songs during a concert?
But that is not my point. He could screw any FM song on his tour, I never need to hear a single Rumours song in my life. An artist who has nothing new to add is a revival gig. Then you better retire instead of doing concert tours with a 30 year old setlist.
Johnny, time management was indeed LB`s problem. It was ridiculous and annoying. I never thought another album ever would get out. But... it came out and I like it very much. No comparison to SYW. And a new solo one is announced. And a new tour. And a documentary. Another Stevie Nicks concert collaboration to me is a time stealer. Ending up with songs like SYW. I am not into that kind of pop songs anymore, it bores me. There are a lot of people who like that. It's fine by me. I wish to all of you that Stevie keeps making solo albums for years to come. Why shouldn't I? It is just not my cup of coffee. LB seems to be back on the output-track and I just don`t want other projects to interfere. As f.e. a silly FM tour without new material or the annoying interview and stage antics drama bull they will perform. I can write you down every single interview they will give today and everyone else here can too. It is so refreshing that all this bull isn`t happening now with LB on his own. Albums like UTS are what keep my interest up. Therefore I say, screw the past orientated time stealing stuff and concentrate on new solo projects.

I say AMEN.

Btw, some of the FM-stuff got a new jacket. ISA is closer to the original atmosphericly, than ever. The darkness off the song comes off 100% better.

No cheap rehash, imo.

Although I must say, that I don't have ANY problems with John and Mick joining in for the electric one. GOS would have been my fave solo-album-a big part of that were the killer rythmtracks. But, Lindsey-if that means Mick will suck you into a Macsetting with this set of songs: Screw him and tick on chairs again....

He's only doing five new 'Under The Skin' songs... and FM performed that many new tunes during any given night on the 'Say You Will' tour.

Albums like UTS are what keep my interest up. Therefore I say, screw the past orientated time stealing stuff and concentrate on new solo projects. On some of your points, I actually agree. Truth be told, I'd rather that Stevie didn't waste yet another year on the road... whether it be with Don Henley, Tom Petty, Lindsey or even Fleetwood Mac. I actually couldn't care less if she even toured solo. I want new songs/albums. I love the past material and I never get sick of it, like others seem to, but I'm also chomping at the bit for NEW material. New songs to pour over and absorb and fall in love with.

However, if I understood you correctly, it sounds like you assume that if Lindsey is working with Stevie (in regards to an album here, not a tour), the effort is going to produce a "pop" album. Well, that's possible... and I wouldn't balk if they did (Lindsey is still a "pop" artist, after all -- as evidenced by several tracks on 'Skin'). But being that they talked of "returning to (their) roots" and writing "from the ground up," it's a very distinct possibility that the album they'd come up with... as BUCKINGHAM NICKS (not referring to Fleetwood Mac)... would be something more stripped-down and folky. Something that truly showcased their vocals and Lindsey's guitar playing.

I think we'd both be intrigued by a folkier, rootsier NEW collaboration from the two of them. But if it's just another tour Lindsey is talking about and not a new album, then I'm right there with you in hoping they instead focus on their solo careers.

Johnny, I didn`t count BTLH here. That thing was already on the Dance, should imo not have been on SYW and is now 9 years old.
I counted Red Rover and Murrow, both from GOS source, both untouched (unlike Peacekeeper f.e.) Yes, they did perform these songs on the SYW tour but I regard them as relatively new.
Well a new Buckingham Nicks album... First I believe that the making of that would take a pretty long time. Management to management. Discussions over the songs over the direction over this over that. Second I don't see that much of a difference to the SYW thing except that the songs on SYW were adjusted and not written from the ground. And third, and that is my main point. I am intrigued by Lindsey as an artist. I have problems to relate to Stevies music. I like her Tusk songs. I like 2-3 from her songs from each solo album. But I have a hard time to go through her entire work. A lot of people here praised Everybody finds out f.e. I find it to be boring and a bit naive. The Silver girl discussion... I don`t have to put it on again. I liked to see her live in Oberhausen. I like her but most of her work is just not what I`m looking for nowadays. Her addition on a song like Peacekeeper f.e. ruined the song to me. Say goodbye was one of my favourites on GOS. I don`t listen to that one no more as I can`t stand the SYW version.
It has nothing to do with ideology. I just have too much fun by listening to LB solo and I'd like to have that fun without the Stevie influence. Again, it's fine that a lot of people relate to her that much. May she put out a lot of solo works so we all have what we like.

Sarah

I have to agree a bit.

I don't have a problem with someone being a Fleetwood Mac fan and a Fleetwood Mac fan only, without interest to anybody's solo career.

I don't have issues with people who are only Stevie fans.. like my last roommate. Or someone who's just a Lindsey fan.. like me.

I love the Fleetwood Mac work we've had up til now. Say You Will was good, I think, but kind of weak.. especially when I think about how Lindsey could have used his own songs for his own work. The GLAAD version of Peacekeeper was awesome. The new Peacekeeper with Stevie on it is okay on the album, I guess, but closer to blah.. and it's double blah live. Is that Stevie's fault? I can't say. It's Lindsey's song, so maybe it's a mutual decision.

I just think the GOS demos had a lot of strength in them, and that kind of got shot to hell when it turned into an FM project. I hope Stevie does a million more solo albums for her legions of fans. I wouldn't mind another FM album. But I don't think there's ANYTHING wrong with Lindsey fans recognizing the fact that he keeps giving his stuff away, and it maybe isn't as good as it could have been if he'd done it on his own. It's a fact of the Fleetwood Mac cycle, and has been since.. what.. Tango if not a bit on Mirage?

Maybe it comes back to the label. Maybe since Warner Brothers appears to not have so much confidence in Lindsey, it's like hey, low budget album, do what you want. But if Stevie gets involved, I'd be willing to guess that the label will be more and more involved because they'll want to promote it more and put more copies on more shelves than they are this Lindsey record. I don't think it'd be possible to have a BN album that was JUST B & N now.

It's not that I'm against Stevie or Fleetwood Mac. I'm just FOR Lindsey, and I want his work to be about HIM.

Well stefan and stewie, I think Lindsey only considered TOURING a BN-cd-reissue. I'm not favoring that. A FM or BN album "built from the ground up", I would like. But first a rock LB-album and tour. Then anything can happen and I'll be fine.

And third, and that is my main point. I am intrigued by Lindsey as an artist. I have problems to relate to Stevies music. I like her Tusk songs. I like 2-3 from her songs from each solo album. But I have a hard time to go through her entire work.
I like her but most of her work is just not what I`m looking for nowadays. It has nothing to do with ideology. I just have too much fun by listening to LB solo and I'd like to have that fun without the Stevie influence. Again, it's fine that a lot of people relate to her that much. May she put out a lot of solo works so we all have what we like.I can understand, and of course I'm not saying that Lindsey shouldn't record more solo albums. The "electric" album that he's started should definitely be finished and released as a solo album. Which would/should give Stevie time to do another solo album of her own.
After that though, the idea of a REAL collaboration between the two of them could be intriguing. I'd want a new Stevie solo before that though. Definitely.

I also understand where you're coming from when you say that you don't relate to her music. It's not for everyone. And folks who are die-hard Buckingham fans, first and foremost, usually have the most difficult time of all when it comes to relating to and/or appreciating Stevie's approach. Of course, there are a great many people who appreciate them both almost equally. And, also of course, many Nicks-only fans who couldn't care less about Lindsey.

I find myself having a difficult time relating to some of the tracks on 'Skin' thematically/lyrically... for the very first time in my Buckingham fandom.
Hopefully the "electric" album will speak to me more.

The GLAAD version of Peacekeeper was awesome. The new Peacekeeper with Stevie on it is okay on the album, I guess, but closer to blah.. and it's double blah live. Is that Stevie's fault? I can't say. It's Lindsey's song, so maybe it's a mutual decision.I'm thinking it was Lindsey's decision, considering the fact that he played it exactly the same way for the 'Soundstage' performance, when he very easily could've taken the opportunity to play it faster.

It doesn't matter to me who tours or when, either solo or as a group. I count myself lucky to see Lindsey, Stevie, or the Mac in concert in any combination. I think they are all savvy enough. and creative enough, to give us new songs and keep the momentum going for quite a few years to come.....

This doesn't surprise me at all. I always figured this would come to be someday. They came in together, they will go out, together.

At the Falls Church show tonight, someone in the audience screamed out "Buckingham/Nicks" and made Lindsey chuckle a little bit and said "we are working on that" and the crowd went nuts.

I do think it would be very interesting and fitting for them to finally do this.

YAY!!... heehee :sorry: ... but YAY!! :woohoo: - it may not be a popular concept to all in this forum - I'm no shipper or chiffonhead... HONESTLY... I agree with ThrownDown - would love to see any form of Lindsey, Stevie, Mac, Peter, Jeremy.. any of them and all of them because they're my fav band, from beginning to end.

Thanks so much for reporting what you saw and heard tonight! I'm tickled all over again. :wavey:
