Going to Ginger's Trois knowing that I will get stinking drunk, resulting in waking up at 2 am and not being able to get back to sleep and spending the entire workday exhausted and with a headache, telling myself do not ever do that again, or at least stop at two cosmos. And then 4 days later doing the same thing all over again.

I'm sorry sweetie!
Originally last night I wrote "not being able to sing" because I was almost completely hoarse, still am mostly hoarse. But I wrote this big long thing about it.
It is immensely frustrating for me. And I can't believe Stevie wasn't hoarse more, with how much singing she did.
I think I would die if I couldn't sing permanently.

Why not just delete the post/thread entirely? I don't understand why it was replaced with just dots, or was that just the choice of the thread starter? So basically I'm asking, can one delete a post/thread that one starts?

Yep, you can delete a post or a thread.
Ah -ok - so then why not just delete the thread rather than deleting the content of the first message but leaving dots? This is what I don't understand
amber

Yep, you can delete a post or a thread.
I don't think non mods can delete threads anymore. I've tried a few times, and unless I'm missing something, you can't. Used to be able to, though. Or maybe I am missing something. Can still delete posts, but not if they are thread starters. As far as I can tell.
Anyway, I still wanted to hear what nothing is more frustrating than for others, so I left dots, duh, because you need a post to have 10 characters. And I deleted the contents of the first message b/c it wasn't exactly what I wanted to say, but didn't feel like writing something new right then, but still wanted to hear others' responses.
Not sure why that is so hard to figure out, or so inexplicable. Unless...

That's why I'm mildly confused, I remember recently trying to delete some thread - and I couldn't figure out how to do it  Whatever...it's not that important - I was more curious than anything.
And to stay on topic: Nothing is more annoying than people who don't cover their mouth when they cough and/or sneeze. This has really been bugging me lately.

We were too busy covering our bodies with latex in order to avoid coming into contact with said contents of the bathroom. But oh the smell. That never really leaves ya! Just free dinner every night (we ate the leftovers from that night's homeless feeding). But it was an amazing experience, one I hope to do again...I've really let my work with the homeless slide in the last several years, but have been thinking about starting up again. It's an issue I feel strongly about.
Anyway - I got paid nothing..in fact I paid to go on that trip lol - but the folks who live and work the place permanently - I think they get $100 a month plus free housing, food and toiletries.

Okay, usually I find LOTS of things frustrating but my pick of the week would be people who say things like: "I don't think it's gonna last" or "yeah right" when you tell them that you just gave up smoking and you 're happy&proud about it.
'kay, my frustration of the day would be epilepsy, hrmbl. Had a ****ty night with lots of mini-seizures that kept me up until two. Today feeling a bit iffy, but there's a lot of things I want to do with my free afternoon. And I know I should get some rest, instead of running from here to there, because that'll make it worse.
Well, it'll pass, health's been pretty good last summer so I don't worry about it too much.

Frustrating:
My upstairs neighbors got a puppy - a Bassett Hound - they throw it on the porch and just let it bark and bark and bark - I've seen no sign that they're training it to shut the f**k up.
Aaaand...as if that's not bad enough - my next door neighbor thinks it's hilarious to walk her dog RIGHT under the balcony - so the Bassett Hounds goes ape ****. And she thinks it's ever so amusing....
Also - she likes to stand right in front of my patio doors and just chat - on her phone....LOUD. It's pissing me off - stand in front of your own damn apartment.
AND she smokes - but not IN her apartment - she'd rather stink up my apartment - I can't even have my windows open anymore :(
I don't think I'm cut out for apartment living.

Nothing is more frustrating then people going through a midlife crisis and trying to relate to younger people. More specifically, me. There's a guy here at work who has to be in his 50's, but he's all about the A&F wear and trying to keep up with what's on MTV. I guess it's more creepy then frustrating, but he always needs to tell me about his weekends doing things people half his age should be doing and it really gets on my nerves. I try to look as uninterested as possible, but he does not get it.

People who either don't respond to e-mails, or take their sweet time doing so. I'm talking weeks, if not months, here. I once actually had someone reply to an e-mail I'd sent over a year before. Ugh! I want to kick these assholes right in the teeth!!
I know forwarding them the original e-mail with a raging, expletive-filled note would just make it worse, but I almost can't help myself. One of the supervisors at work (not my supervisor) has been sending my supervisor e-mails detailing things I have neglected to do (I've been really swamped), and my supervisor forwards them to me. I sent both of them kind of a tacky e-mail in response, which they both ignored, and even asked my supervisor to stop forwarding her e-mails because they're pissing me off, but she keeps doing it. Yesterday, I kept typing drafts of another tacky e-mail to send to the offending supervisor, and even contemplated getting a dozen eggs and some wet toilet paper and driving out to her house. I want to knock her in the goddamn head, I swear!

A year! **** that, dude. I sometimes don't reply to casual emails as soon as I get them, just because I don't want to appear too eager. lol. Depending on who it is, I feel weird replying to an email they just sent like, two seconds ago. I usually stay on top of replying, though. A year is ridiculous.

the most annoying thing happened to me today. Went to town with some mates and stopped off at Burger King to get a snack. Well I went and sat on one of those big red sets - the padded ones. I was wearing BRAND NEW £40 Topman jeans bought 2 days before for the first time and some twat hadn't bothered to wipe up the spilt ketchup from the seat i was sat on. And i didn't realise until after I got home that the entire night (burger, pub, pub, pub...ye get the idea) I had bloody ketchup all over my jeans. No wonder girls were staring at my arse I thought they were checkin me out.

Nothing in the world is more frustrating that a room mate who is so whipped by his controling bitch girlfriend that he actually becomes an ass to you. Now, if I had not know this kid for as long as I have, and been such close friends, I would have totally turned on my 'Ryan Super Bitch mode' (as my bf Brad calls it :p ) and tore him a new one for all the **** I don't like about him. Especially after his girlfriend sleeps over here all the time and has the nerve to patronize me in my own place. -__-

The difference between me and her is that while she feels the need to impress upon everyone her Buddah-esque knowledge and expects everyone to do as she says, I generally don't listen to most people, and talk to even less of them. And I certainly don't have time for a whiney, needy, control freak that isn't named Mom. ;)
He said she condescended to him in his own house where she was a guest I do not think telling someone in no uncertain terms that that type of bitchiness will not be tolerated under your own roof is a bad thing.
And the thing is, I didn't even say anything to her when she did that (multiple times). I let it slide. Next time, I'm telling her to just get the hell out. And my room mate will hate me. But it doesn't matter. Lots of people don't like me, I can deal with one more.
But the thing is, they come up with the dumbest **** to harp on me about too. I mean, in the last 12 hours alone, she said I punched holes through their condoms. I wouldn't touch anything that was going near their sleazy-asses. Then she complained about my alarm clock being too annyoing, and how I put it on sleep. Then she bitched that I stole *her* Southern Comfort. It wasn't hers, it belonged to my friend Jess, who I returned it to. And she made up a dumbass story about it being hers. What is this, 3rd grade?

But the thing is, they come up with the dumbest **** to harp on me about too. I mean, in the last 12 hours alone, she said I punched holes through their condoms. I wouldn't touch anything that was going near their sleazy-asses. Then she complained about my alarm clock being too annyoing, and how I put it on sleep. Then she bitched that I stole *her* Southern Comfort. It wasn't hers, it belonged to my friend Jess, who I returned it to. And she made up a dumbass story about it being hers. What is this, 3rd grade?
Hmm, paranoid phoney accusations do not sound very Buddhist to me. She sounds like a real piece of work. She definitely needs to be straightened out! Who cares if someone like that likes you, right? Oy!

I'm ressurecting this thread because I've just about had it. For the life of me I can't understand how people here at my job can drink coffee but have no idea how to make it. We have commerical sized coffee makers here, with DETAILED instructions on how to make a pot of coffee. That alone blows my mind. It ain't rocket science, you know? Dump coffee grounds into filter, put filter in basket, push a button and there you have it. There really shouldn't be a need for detailed instructions. With pictures. And yet, everyday there seems to be some issue with the coffee. Too weak, too strong, a nice layer of grounds on the bottom of the pot (my favorite), or else the pot is bone dry.
Anyway, today I went into the break room and this guy I kind of know was filling up his coffee mug. I went to stand behind him to wait to get coffee and we struck up a conversation. Nothing wrong with that, but as we were talking I noticed that the pot was nearly empty. As we were talking, he literally shook the last few drops out of the pot and into his mug. Then he just walked away. I was in mid-sentence and when I saw that I just stopped talking. He must have taken notice of the shocked/pissed look on my face and simply said:
"If I knew how to make more, I would. You wanna take care of that for me, big guy?"
One, don't call me big guy. Ever.
Two, this guy has a degree. A man with a degree is too ignorant to know how to make a pot of coffee. WTF?

Mike - Send a memo inviting everyone to an inservice. Title it "How to make a pot of coffee. Bitches." Make it mandatory.
I have issues with the people at work that use the treatment room here (open to everyone to do minor procedures like sutures & stuff) and leave it a mess. Sterile wrapping everywhere, table paper not replaced. And sorry to stereotype, but it really is always the male employees. Bastards.

We had to put our entire collection of DVDs in our office (which is already ultra-cramped), because when we did inventory earlier this year, we had 46 of them missing.

46??? that's ridiculous. when i worked at our lib, we had to have all of our multimedia stuff behind lock and key for the same reason. our new library just opened in september, and there's much better security, so it's all out on the floor now, instead of being locked up. i hope it stays that way! i have a ton of respect for everyone who works at a library ... it's practically volunteer work!

They sometimes look like they were used as a substitute for the second slice of bread in a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
It's ridiculous how little regard people have for someone else's property. When did we lose respect for others? When did we lose personal accountability? When did we become such uncouth, self-centered, disrespectful lowlifes?

That is so gross...but not surprising as I've seen quite a few mystery substances on dvds I've rented or checked out :distress:
And I'd love to give you answers to those questions, but I ask them myself everyday. It really is sad how little regard people seem to have for others...and others' property...but even in stores...the other day I was at Target and these two young boys were looking at DVDs...one knocked a bunch off the shelf...they just laughed, KICKED THEM ARUOND...and left the area...or there was the kid who was throwing a fit and tossing things around the toy aisle..they mom? Completely ignoring him...she didn't even pick the items up or make the brat do it....
It's a sad state and one of the many reasons I hate going out in public anymore.

When you let him out-there has to be a table nearby. This is so he can run between the legs as he's running for the door (the dog is crazy....I thought this was just a coincidence, but then I backed up, and he did it again.) His eye on the left is 1/2 blue and it's referred to as his "evil" eye. The most disturbing story I have...my ex-boyfriend and I were playing hide the canoli...but I kept feeling something tickling my ear...his hands were accounted for - so I just gets sort of trying to push back hair...which is what I thought was the culprit...
Ok...then....and I STILL shudder....a fu**ing roach crawls across my shoulder onto my chest....I FREAKED OUT...jumped out of bed, put all clothes back on (after vigorously shaking them out) and then made him clean his room
I'm still traumatized by this story....and it still gives me the willies...

I agree - I can't stand his stand-up..I've never found him funny in that venue - but on Seinfeld? He alone isn't hilarious -and the characters are shallow and overall unlikeable - BUT the way they work together and with the situations and city is what makes the show for me

Nothing is more frustrating then one of your closest friends giving you the "when are you going to find somebody?" speech. What do I look like, a magic ****ing 8 ball? How the hell should I know?
I suppose it's not the actual question that pisses me off. It's all the **** that gets conjured up by that question. **** that I don't particularily want to think about. What happens is that I start asking myself the question.
"Hmm, yeah, when AM I going to find somebody? Why is it so difficult. What's wrong with me?"
Then before you know it I am feeling lonely/sorry for myself, which isn't a very good time. All because of a stupid question.
So yeah. Frustrating.

So yeah. Frustrating.
What kind of weird friend says that to you, let alone having a whole speech about it? Don't feel bad. I mean, what's it to him, anyways?
Also, I like when my friends aren't as paired up, it means they get to do more stuff with me. Hey, maybe that is it, do you do too much stuff with your friend, and he is trying to ditch you?

I can't count how many times I've heard "When are you getting married and having children, Christy?" I hear that at every wedding/baby shower. I didn't go to one of my cousin's baby showers once and I get THIS from my aunt..."Well, when you have a baby, we won't come to your shower."
Okee.
I'm not a kid-person, so it will probably NEVER happen anyway.
They had a story on the news last night about single women in America. More and more women are independent and aren't looking for a man to "complete their life".
I'm not saying that being married is bad or anything, but, me never having had a real boyfriend before...being single is just not a big deal to me. LOL Plus, being an only child...I'm used to being by myself and liking it..to the dismay of my mother.

I don't know why she would've brought it up so suddenly. It was all so random really. She just went right into it. Must've been really bothering her or something... :D
Hopefully she wasn't trying to ditch me. She's not one to hold back on much (obviously) so if she wanted to get rid of me she would've said so. At least I would hope so.

Oh, it's a girl. Hehehehe. Ostensibly she's concerned that you will be alone forever, and that you must have someone in your life in order to be happy, and she wants you to be happy.

That's great. Of course that number could be inflated thanks to Carrie's hardcore lesbian recruiting ways. :wavey:
Man, if your aunts were that intent on making a point not to go to a shower, then you're better off. Bitchy people usually are lousy at gift giving. That's assuming you ever feel the need to have a wedding/baby shower. And damn it Christy, when ARE you getting married?

Some people just can't STAND to be alone, and can't fathom how you can be.
It must be HELL, not arguing with someone all the time, and listening to kids screaming at the top of their lungs.;)

I'm dusting off this thread one more time.

Her intentions were probably good - like someone said, she probably can't fathom (or is afraid of) being alone and therefore holds everyone up to the "you have to have someone to be happy" thing...
she just wants you to be happy - though she's judging her view of happy
I'm getting this from my mom of all people. She's starting the "old maid" references and keeps telling me to find someone...male or female, if I love them she'll love them blah blah blah....but I know she just wants me to be happy - though she's going about showing it in the most annoying and maddening way.

I think it sucks that people have this preconceived notion of what's "normal" or not. What does it metter to them if you want to live alone for the rest of your life? If you want to do that, and if you're happy, then what's the problem? Slap some sense into that bitch you call a friend, Mike!
It doesn't just happen to single people either. For years, Mark & I were hounded constantly by everyone we knew - family, friends, coworkers, etc. "When are you going to get married?" We'd tell them "We're not." It never ended there, it always continued with "Why? How come? Doesn't he want to? Don't you want kids?" Um, no, we just don't feel the need to get married just to please you people. We did it when we felt like it - on our 10 year anniversary. And just to rub it in, we ran away & eloped & didn't tell any of them until we got back. Bitches.
Now it's the kid thing. "Don't you want kids? When are you having a baby? You don't have much time, you know." OK, thanks, I'll keep that in mind. That at 31, my eggs are drying up as I type this & if I don't get knocked up right now, I won't ever be able t if I ever change my mind. Ack!

The people in my family have such a bad track record relationshipwise that no one says a thing to me. They may ask if I'm seeing someone or whatever but they never make me feel odd for not being married. None of their first marriages worked! Some of their second marriages also failed. Okay, TMI. ;)

How 'bout when you just get back from a Lindsey concert at midnight and discover that you have locked yourself out? Your ride has driven off already, of course. Then, you proceed to look for your spare key all over your friend's house (who isn't home, and when you ride your bike up to the AM/PM to call her, because you don't have your goddamned cell phone, she doesn't answer), who you've asked for the key back but not gotten it. Then after a loooong time decide to find a screwdriver instead of the key so you can dismantle your doorknob. After a million more years, you find a screwdriver in some drawer behind a bed.
Then you spend the next half hour bending the brass plate around your door knob and digging out the wood on your door surrounding the knob, which thankfully was already dug out quite a bit from the last time (all with a screwdriver, of course). Then you poke around inside the fricking lock forever, not getting anything to move, using only the tiny light that you keep on your keychain and that you have to press really hard to keep on to see inside the tiny space. Finally, as fatigue takes over around 2am and you almost decide to stop and just go sleep at your friend's house...a strategic tap on the back of the inside of the knob...and the other side of the lock yields and you are able to turn it and get in!! Only 2 hours after you first arrived home. Hurrah. My cats loyally kept me company on the porch, intermittently whining and playing around while I was trying to do sh*t.
Add to that the fact that you never take that one key off the keychain, and only did so last sunday so you could go on your massive 2 hour hill hike without carrying a bunch of jangly stuff, because you were planning on jogging a bit. Add to that that you have been telling yourself since Sunday "you better put that key back on the chain, you're gonna forget and lock yourself out! It's not that serious, though, Khrista has my other key".
So, that is pretty frustrating. I would think. For instance.

Very good. He closed with Steal Your Heart Away instead of the usual, and I love that song of course. He was layed back and jokey. But during his speech before Red Rover, he was going through it, and Deb is all "pull the plug" exactly in time with Lindsey in his speech. I almost died laughing. But I had to be quiet b/c we were in the second row, and the place was smallish, you could hear everyone. Like, people would yell to Lindsey and he would answer back.
Also, I got off at the wrong BART station to meet Deb and we were delayed about 30 minutes. So, two lame things in one night is what I did. Also, Neal is soooo cute. Not Heywood, Ledge Neal. Anita and one or two of the others were sick. :distress: I touched them all anyway, before i found out.

o.k. I almost had to slap a patient today. I hate her. I've NEVER had the sudden urge just to beat the hell out of somebody. well...I take that back.....THIS WEEK i haven't had the urge to beat the hell out of somebody.
My snooty attorney (not saying attorneys are snooty..just this one ) patient came in. My boss' dog is getting his eye removed today :( :( and he was talking about it. She was discussing how she had her dog put down a few years ago because he was peeing on the floor  it wasn't the fact of what she did...it was how cold she was about it. My boss said.."well..murphy may become a laundry room dog, or stay in the kitchen" (they looooooooooooooooovvve that dog) and she said "after cleaning up piss for three days, you'll have him put down too"
   I swear I almost slapped her. If I wouldn't have lost my job I would have.
THEN. she talks about how her husband wanted to get a big screen tv. (he's an attorney too-but he's nice  ) she said she told him " (Insert snooty "a he" laugh) we are not getting a 61 inch t.v. people in TRAILORS have 61 inch t.v.s. " The second coming of her SLAP was restricted by my need to have a job.
I hate snooty people, and I'm not fond of people that don't like dogs. That's my "nothing in the world is more frustrating than" speech.
My only saving grace was knowing that the last 40 minutes of her appointment was going to be me solo with her. I did poke her a few times whoooops...

We freaked out quietly, yes. Deb says he's only done it for Soundstage, live wise. I was pretty happy. They said it was a special request and so it was largely unrehearsed (insert some joke about practising in the bathroom), but it still sounded great. Only thing "missing" were some harmonies. They had a few on the very necessary parts, but not on all the parts Stevie does harmonies for on the album. Still, gorgeous. At least I got to hear that before I was locked out in the froze for two hours.
