my hubby got me these awseome 1956 tom & jerry, droopy dog & lucky ducky cookie cutters, they are cuter than ****~ now i have made cookies like these 1000's of times w/ no prob~
i kept the dough chilled & the room, but when i cut the cookies they either look really cute but stay stuck to the table even tho i have used both bench flour & powder suger or the dough sticks in the cutter itself & won't come out for crap even tho it has been dipped in flour also~
this is the 2nd batch of dough i put in the fridge to chill again to give it another whirl, any suggestions as to make these wrk?...PLEASE!!!~

But, have you thought to try adding a lil finger swipe of oil or noncook spray to the cutters themselves...they may release from the dough easier. I would also try using a wax paper on the surface table. Caitlin is quite the baker so I am sure if she sees your post she could add a tip or two. Good luck Jill! And, by all means, send me some cookies!!! :D

Hi Jill,

Try to put the cookie cutters in the freezer before you use them. Get them good and cold while you roll out the dough. Then dip them in flour and try again. Are they hollow cookie cutters (just an outline) or are they the solid kind that press a design into the face of the cookie? If they are the solid kind you may not be rolling out the dough thin enough. They sound really cool though, so I hope you can get it to work!

To keep them from sticking to the table you can put a sheet of parchment paper the size of your cookie sheet on the counter and roll the dough onto that. Cut out the cookies and remove the extra dough around the design, then slide the piece of parchment paper onto the cookie sheet and bake them. This way you won't have to worry about the dough sticking or losing its shape when you try to pick them up.
