I had seen this before but not such great quality. Stevie sounds perfect on this song. quite possibly my fav from OSOTM.
Lori kills me with her mouth expressions. Sharon looks stunning.

"Doing the Best That I Can" is in my top 10 favourite Stevie songs of all time - and this video illustrates why....

Watching this video makes me want to hang out on a big oversized couch in the same room and just take it all in. I wish I knew people like that... that invite a few folks over and sit around the piano, singing the night away.
Actually, I don't care much for this song. Lots of times I'll skip over it. This video is the only way I'll enjoy listening to it. It's kinda like cantaloupe, I prefer to eat it in little balls that you make with one of them thingies.

Make friends with some musicians and always keep some good beer in your 'fridge. You'll be hosting sing-a-long nights before you know it.
It's called a melon baller.

I was this the house that she rented out for $25K /mo while recording TOSOTM?

That's a good question. The hallway scene at the end, which I LOVE, might be. The room where they're at the piano might be. But that exterior shot, I really don't think that was it. That would make a nice project for a motivated chiffonhead... to create a photo documentary of inside and outside shots of all the places Stevie has lived.

Lori has a beautiful mouth. And Sharon does look incredibly good. This is by far the best resolution at which I have seen this. My old video is about 7th generation. Stevie is a mess, and I don't give a rip. I love this clip. It's epic. Harrowing and historic. One of my favorite things EVER.

WOW! I really, really liked that video. I'm not a fan of that Stevie period - but she sounded wonderful - the girls' vocals were tight - and I LOVE seeing Stevie play the piano while singing!! She wasn't bad!
Thanks for sharing this!:xoxo:

This is a great version of that song. In my opinion, they should have done the song like this on the album, just piano and vocal. It would have been much more powerful. That would be an interesting idea for a new CD, come to think of it. Acoustic versions of her old songs.

That's probably her Bosen in the video. She's talked about it in at least a couple of interviews I've heard. If I remember correctly, one interview was right around the Bella Donna era, she told the interviewer she had just bought it and how excited she was. That's one amazing piece of equipment for someone who's not that strong of a piano player. It's something I would expect Chris to have. But that's okay.... we all have our "toys." :p

Well, currently, she needs that extra octave in the Bass Clef
Seriously, you are correct in that that piano is amazing for her limited talent. But, imagine if Bruce Hornsby or Bentmont Tench ever got to tickle those ivories
With my very limited talent, I played one over the Foruth of July - in a hotel nonetheless  My Steinway M I used to have was lovely, but nothing like that

WOW - a hotel had a Bosen? Where... in the lobby, the bar..? Must've been a 5 star hotel. That's very cool you got to play one. I would freak out if I ever saw one sitting somewhere. Well, I would freak out, then play it. I know almost NOTHING about playing piano, a few chords... that's about it... remnants of having been taught to play the accordian as a child.

I passed it almost everyday going to work. Never been inside, but it looks beautiful. I actually swam partially clothed in the fountain in Forsyth Park across the street. My first encounter with the Po-Po

Never had an inkling to go to Savannah, until now.
I'm thinking of a resort/lux hotel excusion, starting with the Waldorf.

If you go to the Waldorf - pay the extra $$$ and stay in The Towers - which is a sep. hotel within The Waldorf! If you have an American Express Card - book through them and you may be eligible for an automatic upgrade AND the rate usually is cheaper!
