WIth apologies to Ryan in his baseball playoffs thread, I just wanted to make a special point about the Twins this year. This team was in the tank back in May and early June, lost Francisco Liriano 3 times, Brad Radke, and they have 2 rookies in their rotation. But yet despite all those odds, here they sit on the edge of clinching a playoff spot. It has been a great pleasure for me this year following them. Plus, my friend and I are splitting postseason tickets!:] I told him the only thing I want for dure is game 7 of the World Series if we make it that far.

the other AL teams I would be scared to play the Twins in a playoff series.
Ya can guarantee 2 games of a 5 game series, or possibly 3 games of a 7 game series will see Santana on the mound, Not a fun day for the opposing team.

Gardenhire has already said that if we clinch the spot in the next couple days, he's going to rest some players. While that might mean Detroit will take the division, he's rather have Santana available 2 times in a 5 game series, and I agree with him.

Hopefully it wont go 5 games. ;)
The Yankees solution to Santana seems to be what they used to do to Pedro Martinez. Try to stay in the game for the first 6 innings and then go off on the bullpen once he is out.
And anyways, Liriano is out for the season, is he not? Thats a big hole in the rotation. I mean, Silva is no Liriano.

Well you also cannot count out the Yanks offense when everyone is healthy. I dont care if you've got Cy Young on the mound, its the best lineup in baseball.
