Oh, that was awesome! I'm not even a super huge Prince fan. His collaboration with the girl, with the harmonies, was simply spectacular. The benefits of the collaboritive spirit was in full bloom. So many bands lose goodness b/c they don't bust out the kick ass harmonies.
Not here - Prince's infinite collaborative wisdom was in evidence full force. And that lady kicked ass.

Was this when they did "beautiful loved and blessed?" yeah, that was really cool. Say what you will about prince, but the guy's got style. And hes really talented. he also never looks any older.

I'm not sure...the newest ep...yeah, I think I do recall something about someone being beautiful beloved and blessed Yep, that's the one.

Er. "Say what you want about Prince"? I've honestly never heard anyone say anything but good about him. He has his "less than super spectacular" songs, I guess, but whatever misteps he may take (and I, again, don't know too much about his career - just the media stuff) - he still plays all those instruments, and makes up all that kick a** stuff.

I guess I was more enthusiastic because I thought this work he displayed on SNL was better than some other recent work I had heard. I hadn't heard him collaborate on a VOCAL that way in a long time. Doesn't mean it didn't happen, just means i didn't hear.
Anyway, it struck me Mac-like in it's goodness. I mean, not like the Mac, but just a brilliant use of vocal tools of the artists. Great collab, a true, complicated, duet. That girl had a killer voice. It was like when you hear Stevie a la Midnight Special suddenly pop up with that massive "Why" harmony, and the "yeahahaha" after Christine ends with her own "yeaheaheah" and the two run together.

Ie, a sublime blending of voices.

I'd just like to add again that I hardly like any singers, or bands, but thought this performance kicked much.

Thats funny that you say that, I just downloaded the Midnight special version of "Why" (one of the greatest songs EVER) that you posted in the rumours forum! thank you by the way, yeah, Tamar is a really good and cool singer. and Prince is awsome. I have MANY of his albums, even the obscure ones. but yeah, I guess its the people Im around alot, theyre allways like "Aaron, you listen to some Strange music" I allways tell them, that theyre just not used to hearing TALENT.
