I was wondering if anyone had any bootlegs of live versions to this song...or even the one from the Tusk tour. I have one lone bootleg and it wants company.
For some reason, whenever I sing this before I have to go speak or perform, this helps me to speak more clearly - and for that reason - and the fact that it is my favorite of Stevie's songs - I need more versions! :(

I have Live in Cleveland. Is that the one you already have?

I don't believe so - I might have re-labeled my copy to something different because I suffer from being a dumb ass at times. :)

Does anyone have a good MP3 of the version from the Tust documentary? I love that one and I don't have it anywhere. I love when she says "it makes me feel like and old fashioned dancehall girl... I love it... I love it" Or something like that.

yeah, I was just about to be mad for her holding out on so many versions of my favorite song.  course, now I can totally snag them. My ishuffle will contain only Angel.
Okay, here's Cleveland 1980. The vocal is strange and good - You can hear Liddy laugh on a couple of lines, it is a very free version. Also, the harmonies, I swear they were dubbed, they're that good "ohohohoh!" You'll see what I'm sayin'.

Also - I instructed my itunes to convert Angeltuskdoc for my ipod, but it said it already was converted, even though it is still in video form - And there was no "convert to MP3" choice. :(

I know this is a hard one, but in the 20/20 documentary (1979 or 1980) Stevie is at the piano singing Sisters of the Moon and then it goes into a live version of the song which is soooo "intense". It's NOT the version they play in the documetary though! She's singing in a different key....definitely a "wilder" version. Does anyone know or have that version? This has been bugging me for many years!
Thanks! You guys are the BEST!

gosh, it's like I discovered gold. This song is so underrated, IMO. Kickin', killer bassline, drums to die for, harmonies up the wazoo, a complicated melody - a feel good, fast beat. It's fun for the whole family - especially for STevie.
I'm kinda mad at people who don't like this song, and wonder what they are thinking.
"No, I don't want to hear great musicianship or have fun happy times while my favorite singers are onstage, busting out some killer ****"
It's so f*cking happy, bouncing, complex, and smoothy! There's even dancing, if you see a video. There's improv. There's vocal pyrotechnics. There's instrumental pyrotechnics. WHAT THE HELL IS NOT TO LOVE?! Only time this band has so much happy fun onstage, swear. Liddy even laughs and smiles during it.
Whoever made up this song is a f*cking genius.  (Hi, Steviegenius!)
Baaaaaayyybehhhhh!
Totally Underrated. The radios should have played the sh*t out of this, thusly elevating the mood of the entire country.:woohoo:
Yeah, that's right, I think it is so good that it could've elevated the mood of the entire country.
But see now, the state the country is in - instead of bieng Angelfied, people elected Reagan. all because we collectively never heard enough Angel in the midst of various FM blitzes. Who knows the heights of mood and goodwill we could've reached had we all heard Angel ad nauseam? (like we do GDW, or GYOW, or Gypseh, or Chain, Landslide, or DS or...you see what I mean). And who knows the collective mind depths we could've reached had the entire country been privvy to SOTM? Or BC?
But no, b/c of the whim of some a**hole radio programmers, the nation was not privvy to this very, very, very special information. Right now, Angel should be playing somewhere and people should be rolling their eyes because they have heard it so many times. People should have been sick of Angel just like they are sick of the other only five FM songs that people play.
It boggles my tiny mind, what has been missed that could've been. It also boggles my mind why radio can play the same song forty times a day, but never throw in the Angel. Of my dreams. It isn't like it isn't radio friendly - DON'T MAKE ME COME OVER THERE!
That is the whole worst part, that it is so radio friendly (fast, upbeat sounding, good vocal, a tiny bit funkulous, simple yet complex, great bandwork) yet no one will ever hear it. It's a travesty of epic proportions. Centuries from now, they will unearth it and wonder why radio humans were so lame as to not make this masterpiece widely known. (also, there will be a BC cult, but that is a whole different convo).
I guess I'll just have to close my eyes softleh and imagine that it is played somewhere - as usual.
I can see why she needs to become that part of the wind, if the radio won't even play such a kick ass song that she made. lol. That is actually the thing we all long for, sometimes. We long for it b/c it will never happen, but should have.
Amber, these types of disertations should be PUBLISHED!:D
