David Gregory tries hard to get him to answer the question and George loses it for a minute. This is by far the most agitated I've ever seen him.

Wow, I thought presidents were supposed to be tactful and controlled. Yet another quality in a long list of what presidents are supposed to do that Dub doesn't possess.

I LOVED when W tried, while smirking as if to imply that the questions were patently ridiculous, to move on and the reporter interupted W and asked him again to answer the question.
I think if America wants out of the Geneva Convention, it should do just that. But, this pu$$y bull****te of "we have to interpret it" is a load of cr@p and will NEVER withstand a legal challenge here or anywhere else.

It is a load of crap. The conventions are very clear as read by Ed Shultz on air the other day. Bush probably has not read them!

THe GC speaks of how to treat prisoners of war and then defines that term. Al-Q likely does not fall within that definition because Al-Q represents no country, does not fight under a uniform, etc. SO, Al-Q is not entitled to that status.
But, if I am not mistaken, the GC provides for the way to treat people like the fighters in Al-Q. SO, the US is bound to follow that.

That's the most passionate I've seen him act in public. I don't care for his bully type rudeness to David the reporter. Regardless of how he feels about members of the press, they're people and he is on national TV. I wouldn't let my kids watch him... that'd be a bad influence.

DG had a great question and W completely did not understand what was being asked. he thinks that a captured american op should be roughed up and then convicted using secret evidence? that's what he said.

You know, I love the way he has to get that little jab in at the end. He's such an inarticulate bully.

Oh darlin' he understood it - he was trying not to answer it by changing the question - and he is too short for that gesture.

No soild Democratic opposition. Gore was a snore and Kerry was just Bush light  And - it was these two D's election to lose, which they did. I get all the FL recounts, Diebold problems, etc. But, W was vulnerable in so many areas and the D's could not get to those without exposing their own weaknesses, which were the same as W's.
In the end, this go around, if the D's lose, that is about it for that party as wel know it because a horse's a$$ could defeat the R's right now.

I still say so what if he was a snore, I can't understand why people can't use their heads. What are the consequences of electing an idiot over someone who might not be so charismatic but is very bright? Gee, I wonder. It isn't rocket science.

I have always said the vast majority of the American voters are stupid and easily tricked.
I think many if not most people think that 9/11 would have happened no matter who was in office. And - I cannot say they are incorrect because it is all specualtion. But, the odds of a Gore administration picking up the ball and running with the one memo of thousands in Aug. 06 and then making all the req. connections is slim to none  Also, Clinton pretty much lost it for Gore. America is prudish and that is that. As for Kerry, I think his foreign wife coupled with his Mass. image was enough to drive the most middle voters away. I know this does not sit well with the far left, but many, including me, think that paying anything over 20% to the Feds in income tax on top of all the other taxes we pay is assinine and Kerry projected the image of being for higher taxes. So, he lost on that and, I think, his perceived position on the war. I think many people thought "well, Kerry voted for the war and has long called for the ousting of the dangerous SH - well, W has that same position and why change boats in mid stream."
Also, as long as the D's allow themselves to be portrayed as Godless liberals who want abortion on demand at any time it is in the mother and gay activists - they will be hard pressed to win. But, maybe the times are a changin.

You are right and I am finally getting it. My Idealist heart is broken.
We'll see what the dems do in Nov. They really need to show some cajones and stand firm for something.
