I wont pile on here since that's like beating a dead horse, but maybe getting away from him will help her?

Whitney Houston Splits From Bobby Brown
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (September 13, 2006) -- Access Hollywood has learned from a source close to Whitney Houston that the star has split from her long-time husband Bobby Brown.

What is now a legal separation is a technicality which, according to Houston's publicist, Nancy Seltzer, automatically will become a divorce filing in October.

The source says legal documents were filed Friday and that Bobby Brown was served with those documents yesterday.

Bobby Brown & Whitney Houston got married on July 18th 1992. They have been married for 14 years.

They have one daughter, Bobbi Kristina, born March 4, 1993.

In June 2005, Brown launched his own reality series, "Being Bobby Brown," on the Bravo television network.

Whitney Houston made a splash at the Beverly Hilton Hotel last night with a surprise appearance at the "The Society of Singers Presents the 15th Annual Ella Award honoring Johnny Mathis". Flanked by her mentor, Clive Davis, and cousin, Dionne Warwick (who performed at the event), Whitney looked every bit the picture of health and happiness, the likes of which the public hasn't seen from her in quite some time.

The glamorous Whitney was all smiles posing for photographs, laughing arm-in-arm with Davis and Warwick, and appeared reminiscent of years past when she was at the top of her game as one of the leading ladies of the music industry.

Mr. Davis told MTV last week that he and Whitney are at work right now on a comeback album, and they've already chosen six songs for the project. Clive had this to say about what fans can expect: "Whitney is Whitney, and there ain't nobody like her. It'll be Whitney. It won't be somebody reaching for a current trend, that's for sure."

Whitney has been under public scrutiny in recent years due to her declining weight, tumultous marriage to singer Bobby Brown, and her stint in a rehabilitation facility in 2005 (for undisclosed reasons). Her last studio album, "One Wish: The Holiday Album," only reached No. 49 on the Billboard 200 album chart after its November 2003 release, performing far below her previous efforts.

Last night's surprise appearance coupled with Clive Davis' announcement of a new album indicates that the former reigning diva could soon be back where she belongs: on top of her game and on top of the charts.

Hey thanks for the article! Well I hope she does clean up her act, and get back to healthy (both physically and mentally). I always liked her ok - and thought it was so sad the path she went down.

I like a few of her songs, but I never been a big fan... still, I hope that without Bobby's influence she truly can clean up her act. She has waaaay too much talent for it to be squandered.

Now this is good news. The latest rehab stint must have actually knocked some sense into her.

Now come on with a CD that is actually good!

P.S. Not that it matters, but I thought the Bobby/Whitney reality show was quite entertaining.

i watched "being bobby brown", what an awful train wreck of a show & i must say he has been poison to her, not that she isn't a grown woman & can't take responsibility for her own actions, i just always thought he brought her down to a nasty level~ good for her!!!~

She is a huge talent, no doubt. I hope she stays clean and gets back on track and find some happiness. On the reality show with Bobby, she looked so cracked out all the time, it was sad.

Saw Waiting TO Exhale the other night and she was beautiful & talented. WHat has happened to her over the past several years can in some part be blamed on him. Hopefully, she will come back and blow us away again.

Reports: Whitney Houston faces foreclosure

NEWARK, New Jersey (AP) -- Whitney Houston's New Jersey mansion is slated to be sold at a sheriff's sale because she is more than $1 million behind on the mortgage and taxes have not been paid this year, according to reports published Wednesday.

The January 4 sale was scheduled Tuesday by the Morris County Sheriff's Office, the Daily Record of Parsippany reported. The service agent for Chevy Chase Bank, the mortgage holder, sued Houston in June.

Houston's estate comprises two lots, and the sale would be of the lot assessed at $889,300. The adjacent lot is valued at more than $5.6 million, the Daily Record reported. Houston, 43, bought the properties in 1987 for $2.7 million.

Through a secretary, Houston publicist Nancy Seltzer told the newspaper the property was not in foreclosure. A woman who answered the telephone at Seltzer's office on Wednesday said Seltzer was traveling and could not be reached for comment.

Phone messages left after business hours with the service agent, Mortgage Electronic Registration Systems Inc., and the sheriff's office were not returned Wednesday.

Mendham Township is owed about $83,000 in property taxes this year on the 10-acre estate, officials told The Star-Ledger of Newark. The township sent notices after each quarterly deadline was missed, the assessor's office said. The most recent payment was due November 1.

A sale could be averted if Houston reaches a settlement with the service agent, Sheriff's Sgt. Steve Ackerman told The Star-Ledger.

Houston in September filed for divorce from singer Bobby Brown after a 14-year marriage. She is collaborating on a project with her cousin, singer Dionne Warwick.

That's so sad. I hope it all works out well for her. I'm sure she'll find a way to cure the foreclosure before it goes to sale.

If she is indeed working with Clive Davis, he likely will front her the money. She is a true mega talent and that is still somewhere in her. If she cleaned up her act and released a record of ballads and songs like "I'm Every Woman" and then did a HUGE tour with gowns, etc. -- she'd be a sellout. I mean everyone loves a comeback and her's could be legendary. I think people really like her and are saddened by her plight, unlike Michael Jackson who is loathed.

ITA.

it's the whole cycle in the entertainment world. luckily, she's primed for her return. the public built her up, tore her down, now it's time for a true, big-ass comeback. I've seen/read it a million times before. just like Britney. whatever she does next I really think, if it's timed right and the right music/image, America will love her all over again and this time maybe more.

People need to give her another chance. If she can stay on the straight and narrow and work on getting her voice back, I think her comeback could be huge. I dont loathe her at all. I am rooting for her.

MJ...now that is another story. I cant even stand to look at him or hear his voice anymore.

About frickin' time!!

Will be interesting to see if she truly does "get clean" and what she has to say about all the public junk. If she will "own" it and what she will do with it now.
She'll get all the "divas" (so sorry to see such a fine word diluted by the likes of the wannabees out there today)... around her and make it "hip" to be all Whitney again.
Not like ANY of those folks have a clue about reality anyway......

Should we all place our bets now on when the "Oprah" interview happens??

I cant stand her. I think she's full of herself. In the beginning when she did "I wanna dance with somebody" and similarly catchy tunes, I loved her. When I started reading that she would get attitude at people (dont you know who I AM?) and even getting violent a la Naomi Campbell, I gave up on her. I laffed at her hanging on to Bobby Brown as if he was some sorta PRIZE when good GAWD people--he's a JOKE! Nope, dont like her at all. wouldnt buy her music and about the kindest thing I could say is I hope she has a successful recovery so she can be a decent mom to her girl. other than that?
