More RI Lighthouse and Bay Photos

I went on a lighthouse cruise on Narragansett Bay last Saturday and I figured that I would share some of my photos. I was sort of disappointed with the cruise because it did not cover some of the best lighthouses in the state. It also did not get very close to some of them and even with my 10x optical zoom lens it was still hard to get good photos. Like this one:

This is where a favorite amusement park was located, Rocky Point Park. Oh how I miss that place. I got to see Walter Egan play there on the small stage near the midway back in September of 1978. I also got to see Billy Squier and Pat Benatar back in the early 90s when they started to have concerts at one of their banquet halls.

Conanicut Light, Jamestown, RI which is now no longer a lighthouse but a private residence.

Bridge to nowhere. It was sent up the bay the next day. It is going to be part of a new highway expansion next year.

Newport Harbor. This one is actually right on the property of the Hyatt Hotel in Newport, RI. Yes, it looks as if there was yet another wedding that would be taking place.

Bristol Ferry Light, Bristol, RI It looks dwarfed by the supports of the Mt. Hope Bridge.

Last ones. This was not part of the cruise but we took a ride here after it. We certainly have quite a few lighthouses for such a small state.:nod: I still have not even been to a few of the best ones in the state yet, either. Maybe by the end of the summer I will get to go see them.

Those are gorgeous! That seems like a fun little cruise. I've never seen a lighthouse just out in the water before.
