We know that Lindsey's confirmed for a tour in October...so what's that like 35 shows...if Mac tours in 07 when will they open, in May? Who thinks it will happen? New album for the tour, Rumours Anniversary or Farwell? Discuss...

New album for the tour, Rumours Anniversary or Farwell? Discuss...I still believe there wont be a new whole album. But perhaps if the 40th anniversary box set materializes, maybe 5 or 6 new ones. I think Lindsey will end up doing about 15-20 shows. That's my guess. As far as FLeetwood Mac next year, there's no way it will be as long as the SYW tour. I'm thinking somewhere between 40-50 U.S dates. Maybe Europe.

Since Fleetwood Mac's first gig in 1967 was in August, I'd say, late summer 2007 will be when the FMac tour will start. Stevie still needs to add her vocals to Lindsey's supposed "second rockin' album", so it can morph into the next Fleetwood Mac album.

Well, I'm hoping for a new album...that includes guest appearances from past members, as well. (since Mick's playing with Billy & Rick, has patched things up with Bob Welch, plus a couple of sessions with Peter & Jeremy, add some Christine vocal & keyboard tracks via modems, too; I see it happening)
Isn't EVERY tour a "Rumours anniversary tour"?
I think it is safe to say that the 40th anniversary will mark the swan-song of the band. It has been a good long run.

If it were a tour on any other year than ending with a "7", I'd probably think this was a passable set. But, THIS time, 2007, 40th Anniversary...that's pretty special, so they'd better pull out all the stops...play something OTHER than BN only era stuff. (OTHER than just "Oh Well")

If that's the case, then my respect for them (which is ALREADY at a low point) would drop even further. If they drag out the same ol' set of warhorses (I'm talkin' a set 90% made up of the same songs they've done the last two tours), I'm not going. I've dropped multiple $1,000s already to see them play those tunes, I want to see them play something either 1) they HAVEN'T played before, or B) haven't played in 25-40 years.

That's perfectly fair. I want them to pull out some old stuff as well, but in my case, since I've never seen them live I'd go in a heartbeat if they played anywhere that I could get to. I totally understand where you're coming from though.

But, see? It wouldn't BE just those four. There'll be the travelling circus of additional musicians. Now, if they'd get some former members to come back in place of them (like Bob Welch, Billy Burnette & Rick Vito instead of Neal Haywood & Carlos Rios; and Christine instead of Brett Tuggle), that would be f-ing awesome. But, it'll never happen
If the same personnel is on board for this upcoming tour as there was for the SYW tour, count me out right now.
However, if they'd tour with JUST the four of them, now that I'd see...regardless of the set.

For me, I ahd waited so many years to see them, Ive been a fan since I was 6 in 1977, but for various reasons, Too Young, not enough money, ETC I never saw them live until the Dance, on which I saw 5 shows. But when SYW came along, I swore come hell or high water I was going to as many as I could possibly afford. The reason being that their music has meant so much to me over the 30 years I've listened to them. Funny thing is too alot of people I ran into along the way were like asking me if I ahd talked to their management to get a backstage pas or meet them for all the stuff I'd done. BUt that was never what it was about for me. If I was going to meet any of them, it was meant to be, I certainly wasnt going to ask for it.

What do you have against a 40th anniversary tour? I don't think another celebration tour for "Rumours" is necessary. They just did that with "The Dance" nine years ago, and they've only done one other tour since. It would be overkill, even by Fleetwood Mac standards. Anyway, Christine is out, so no matter which tour they do, it will be a bastardized tour. Stevie singing "Don't Stop" or Bekka singing "Don't Stop": Either way, it won't be Christine singing "Don't Stop." (And, they WILL play "Don't Stop," so let's not whine about how sick we are of that song.) At least with Bekka on board, we could possibly get to hear "Spare Me A Little," "Why," and "Believe Me," as well as Christine's songs from the "Rumours" era.
With a 40th Anniversary tour, we'd possibly get to hear some songs not heard at a Fleetwood Mac show in over thirty years and get a greater variety with the performances. I get the feeling Mick is itching to do a Fleetwood Mac tour that's about the band as a whole. He's working with Billy and Rick again (which means Bekka's not too far behind), and he's discussed a possible "early Mac" tour with Bob Welch, who's the only early Mac guitarist itching to tour with the band again.
Fleetwood Mac has been saying for years that they were SOOO different from the Eagles. This tour would show the world why! Whatever they do, they shouldn't listen to industry insiders or follow industry trends. Every time the band has done that, it's bit them in the ass.
