This contestant has a good voice. I am thinking some Ledgies should try out this online contest site.
Jazmen Flowers, perhaps?

Do you have to use garage band? I should check it out. I'm pretty good at that one. Despite what you may think.
I looked at garage band once, and it seemed all complex. Am I missing something? It seemed like you had to have a band, and sign up, and some other stuff. I just want to record, easy. Whoever is singing when I click on it is pretty good. I can't enter contests with my current "recording methods"   but I can kick this girl's ass if I can record on something good. Not that she isn't great.

No, it looks like people have posted it any way they can. Some have video and some do not. Also, you don't have to do that song, it looks pretty loose, like you could do any song, or just start another competition. For instance, the "Insider" sing-along contest.

Your link only led to that girl singing. No, I haven't explored further. I've been distracted by South Park Stevie Nicks.
But can you tell me more about garage band? Obviously, my recordings are sucky, and some people's are really cool, and I'd like to bridge that gap.
Did you enter a version? Can we hear it?
But Jazz should totally enter, you are right.

No, but she does look good in the promo materials for that Dylan tribute album she has coming out.
She plays around in the Bay Area quite a bit.

You're so sweet.
We've never heard you, right? You should grace us.
I was trying to find a respectable recording method...before inflicting on others.
I haven't heard Carrie's song yet, thank you for reminding me. I was on Vacay.
You should post something, I post all kinds of stupid not good singer **** here, do don't be shy. :wavey: Seriously. We don't all have to be experts to express ourselves. It should all be fun, right?

I only linked to her, because she was the only one singing a Stevie song in that contest, and I wanted to post it here, because I thought Stevie forum readers seem more interested in karaoke.
I can tell you about Garage Band, though I am certainly no expert.
I did post two songs the other day, right after Carrie posted one, and the instrumental tracks from Rumours. One was "Oh Daddy" and the other was my band, at a rehearsal doing "That's Allright" They aren't great.
I did try "Dreams" in Garage Band the other day. Should I post?
Carrie and I talked about several of us adding harmonies to "Secondhand News"

Oh, so those are in Carrie's thread? I'll go look if so. If I can tear myself away from singing "What a Feeling" Seriously, I'll go check. :woohoo:
Are you watching Flashdance?
Carrie does "Silver Springs" (http://ledge.fleetwoodmac.net/showthread.php?t=28238)
My band rehearsal, "That's Allright" (http://ledge.fleetwoodmac.net/showthread.php?t=28255)

That group is really good! The girl & the band both are excellent. Obviously it isn't a live situation but a studio. But I can't figure out the schema. How do you participate? Registration?

Are there any rules against gay German camwhores participating?

No need to say your sorry, I only said she had a "good voice' which she does, but I don't necessarily think it is great, or even a great version. She has been taking some pop style voice lessons, for sure.
Yes, Carrie, and Mikki, and Amber, and Jason, Sammi, and you, and Strand, and who else? Didn't Jason's covers project have many submissions? More please. I think are fun!

I am not going to try and win any contest, but here is a version.
http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=15113F7D24E6AB4C You should record by any means possible; the quality of recordings from each home computer will vary wildly, but good vocals will stand out, even if the recording is less polished than others.

Thanks Mikki and Phoenix, for the nice comments: that feels good!
I am really looking forward to this, or another song from you :D
If anyone needs a multitrack audio app for Windows/Linux/Mac http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ is pretty good, and supposed to be simple.
p.s. Mikki, I haven't forgotten your great version of Insider (you and Amber posted some good ones) but I still haven't heard "That's Allright". I want to!

confession:
I kind of feel like this thread turned into a "me" fest, and I honestly had only hoped it would encourage the competitive among you to go check out that contest site, or just continue to encourage more song sharing.
Of course I know many of you have posted a lot of your music and Stevie covers in the past, and I love listening to them—always eager for more!
Wow Eliza, that was fantastic! Well done!
