Another possible side-effect to add to the already long list :(

Acne drug may trigger IBD (http://www.sun2surf.com/article.cfm?id=15137)

NEW YORK: While suspected for some time, a study now confirms that people taking the acne drug isotretinoin appear to run an increased risk of developing inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), US researchers report.

IBD includes Crohn's disease and a similar condition called ulcerative colitis.

Isotretinoin, more familiarly known by the brand name Accutane, was first approved for acne in the US in 1982, and numerous cases have surfaced linking the drug to IBD.

Until now, a systematic review of the association had not been conducted

How can you tell you have that? Does it mean while you are taking it or after?

I have no idea - this is the only online article I can find, which is strange because it made the 6 PM news over in NZ

I would suggest you talk to your derm, they get updated on all this stuff....

I never had that problem while taking it. And I took it 3 different times.

I took it once and had a ton of problems, but no IBS and it did miracles on my skin.
