Nice thread title. I about crapped my pants.
I think no. I don't think he wants her to, I doubt she really wants to. I think they're a bit sick of eachother after the SYW tour.
However, my dream would be a full blown Buckingham Nicks Tour - Lindsey plays his solo stuff for an hour, Stevie plays her solo stuff for an hour, then they do an hour of BN material together.

Paula, I don't think there is even an hour of Buckingham Nicks material. But I guess they could play "Without a Leg To Stand On" twice, or turn "Frozen Love" into a 30-minute psychedelic jam, like those shows in New Orleans Peter Green did with Fleetwood Mac after he quit.
Plus, there's something really nausea-inducing (for those with musical motion sickness) about a concert that includes both "Edge of Seventeen" & "Bwana." It's as if you ate a bowl of ice cream with fudge sauce & then followed it up with a chopped-liver on rye.

My dream David. MY DREAM!
I'll allow some Mac tunes too, if you insist they couldn't fill the time with BN tunes. I didn't mean only the BN album, I'm including other tunes from that era that later showed up elsewhere. These are in no particular order.
Stevie's set:
Edge
Stand Back
If You Ever Did Believe
Bella Donna
B&tB
Talk To Me
Rooms on Fire
Street Angel
Doing the Best That I Can
LB's:
Countdown
You Do or You Don't
Don't Look Down
Slow Dancing
Trouble
Holiday Road (that's right!)
May Lee Jones
I'll leave the rest open for some tunes from the new album.
Both:
Crystal
Don't Let Me Down Again
Long Distance Winner
Frozen Love
Lola (I never liked this tune until we recently discovered the live versions from the BN era.)
Sorcerer
Miranda
Gypsy (ala' AHI 2000)
ISA
Big Love (ala' Letterman '98)
Landslide (cuz ya have to)
California Dreaming :D
Tango

My dream David. MY DREAM!
I personally would love to see Stevie guest on Lindsey's tour because I would like to see like a big fight or something break out in public. I know you must think I'm bloodthirsty, but I would like to see Stevie take a swing at Lindsey on the stage. Or he could throw his guitar at her again. He would probably miss again because he was in swimming, not baseball.
Thus, she could twirl & then kick right into his knees, which would send him careening backward toward the drum riser. But the press would question him afterward & they would agree: "We thought it was a joke" or "We thought it was part of the act."
Then all would be well & Buckingham & Nicks would fall in love all over again, & go to the zoo & lick each other's ice cream cone.
I dunno ... it could be a helluva tour.

I'm surprised why many people think he wouldn't want Stevie in his tour. Of course not all shows, but maybe a few, or at least one. Didn't he invite her for the PBS Soundstage show / dvd ??? She also invited him (and Mick) in some of her solo shows.
And.. let's face it. This would attrack more people, fans... and money.
I wouldn't be surprised if she appears in some shows and songs.
Now the huge surprise would be if Christine joins him in some shows... (Eyes of the world?? World turning??)
As much as I love La Nicks, this reeeeaaally needs to be a Linds only show. I just know she would try to squeeze in "Dreams" and I don't think I could take it.:distress:

I mean it wouldn't be a bad thing really, but even as a devout SN fan, I am SO geeked out for a solo Lindsey venture. It's well deserved for him. He can stand on his own, just as well as the girls. Again, NOT that I wouldn't scream if she popped out for a few songs. :p

She damn well better not join him on the tour in ANY capacity. It's bad enough she's on the SoundStage DVD. I'm fine with him having a special guest if he likes. He can have any guest he wants EXCEPT Stevie. He could drag Ashlee "Mill Vanilli" Simpson's ass up there and I'd be cool with it. But I want to see him in concert sans Stevie. Just once. That's all I ask.

I agree. I really like Stevie, but I want only Lindsey for this tour. To be honest, her being on the Soundstage was nice and all but it didn't make the show any better for me. She could have been there or not, I don't really care. I mean, I dig her, no question, and I thought she was uber cool on the Tom Petty show- great energy, singing, good chemistry, etc- but I want Lindsey by his friggen self. Sorry.
 Ashlee Simpson!!!??! Only out of charity would such a thing be possible. And even then, no way.

I can't speak for the others. But to me, Stevie being there changes the Lindsey dynamic in the same capacity that a fleetwood mac cd doesn't allow him full creativity. I've seen Fleetwood Mac, I've seen Miss Nicks, now it's time for Bucky Boy; unadulterated by the likes of Steeevay! (Whom I also enjoy seeing live, just when it's her own tour.)

Of course I've seen it, but I fully intend to go to at least one of his solo concerts and I'll be extremely angry if, after all these years of waiting for a LB solo tour, Stevie turns up.
Obviously I was kidding about Miss Milli Vanilli. But seriously, I wouldn't mind seeing a special guest. Someone like John Stewart would be cool. Just not Stevie. If he's gonna have Stevie it might as well just be a Fleetwood Mac show and I've already seen three of those.
Also, if she turns up then there may well be an army of her ultra obsessed tunnel vision (I see only Stevie, I care only about Stevie, everything else is of no consequence) fans, many of whom, I'm told, walked out at Lindsey's SoundStage performance once Stevie left the stage.

Well, none of the Stevie fans I know have shown the slightest fear towards Lindsey's armor-piercing rocket-propelled guitarsterbator of destruction. In fact, most of them take to it quite readily.

ITA! Although I wouldn't mind a small backing band like the one on Soundstage (which I still think is what we're going to get). I thought the guitar army was a bit much...I want to hear HIM play...not all these other people.
And lets face it, an appearance by Stevie would just overshadow him, and I don't know if he cares about that, but I don't want it. Would it bring more people to the show? Of course! But when I saw him on the OOTC tour it was one of the best concert experiences of my life. I LIKED that it was in a small setting. I LIKED that it was intimate. I liked that, at the Philly show any, we practically had a dialogue going on with Lindsey...all things that would be impossible if Ms. Nicks showed up.
Now can we just get these f'ing tour dates already!!!

This discrepancy is a puzzle to me. Very puzzling. On his one & only solo tour, Lindsey performed with a bunch of people, which is also what he did on the recent Fleetwood Mac tours. So why does the earlier solo tour seem so satisfying & personal to us whereas the recent Mac stuff--the guitar army--was a drag?
The answer must lie in more than a consideration of mere numbers. In 1993, he had five (or six or seven) guitarists playing along, & yet his own guitar presence was more keenly felt during those shows than it was the last few years. It must have something to do with his musical program. I don't mean his set list but his conception, his schema. The arrangements on the 1992 tour were worked out in such a brilliant way as to keep his own textures throughout (not just the big solos) in the limelight, musically speaking. The other guitarists in some ways seemed to echo his own style; it was like listening to a Lindsey multitrack on CD/vinyl. Even the percussion playing on that tour (as opposed to the recent FM tours) had his signature all over it. The whole sound of those solo shows was designed to present not just his songwriting but his musical style. The same can't really be said of the Dance tour or the Say You Might tour, both of which had this sort of bland, impersonal support that decentered the material & flattened out the idiosyncrasies.

First off, when when I said "guitar army" I meant all the guitarists on the OOTC tour, not the FM tour. But of course the big difference between the OOTC tour and the SYW tour are the venues. I think that had a lot to do with how much more I liked it.
Also on the OOTC tour, Lindsey just seemed really loose and happy. He was downright chatty and there was a lot of back and forth between him and the audience. Try that at a FM concert!

Well...yeah... I mean I really didn't like the guitar army, but even as I was typing my first response I couldn't help but wonder how he could have recreated "All My Sorrows" and "This Is The Time" without it, at least not without over taxing himself.
And, for me at least, I think I just like Lindsey's music the most these days. To me, he's the only one who is still dynamic, still evolving and truly doing new things. I thought the GOS songs were just BRILLIANT while Stevie's newer stuff was just OK. Perhaps that's where a lot of the satisfaction lies as well.

Talented as he is, and as much of a following as I'm sure he has, someone like John Stewart definitely wouldn't overshadow Lindsey at an L.B. solo show. It just seemed odd to me that one "special guest" would be acceptable and welcomed, while the other would be cause for much bitching and moaning.
Truth be told, I can't even see how one would think Stevie overshadowed Lindsey on 'Soundstage'... she came out, got a nice round of applause (though no more than Lindsey himself was receiving between songs), sang unobtrusively on two songs and then was gone as quickly as she came. Wow, how dare she eat into his time? ;)
For me, I think it's a nice gesture when Stevie or Lindsey turn up at one another's shows... Lindsey at a couple of the American Heart Institute gigs, Stevie at Soundstage. It doesn't instantly become a Fleetwood Mac show simply because of the other's presence. The atmosphere of the performance, the setting, the setlist... all of that sets it apart.
Don't get me wrong... like I told Christy, I can absolutely understand why Lindsey's biggest fans would, after all of these years, want to ONLY see Lindsey. Two solo tours in 14 years' time is quite a drought. But, hey, if Stevie turned up for one gig in LA, to sing with Lindsey on one or two of HIS songs, who would that kill?
Also, if she turns up then there may well be an army of her ultra obsessed tunnel vision (I see only Stevie, I care only about Stevie, everything else is of no consequence) fans, many of whom, I'm told, walked out at Lindsey's SoundStage performance once Stevie left the stage. This post of yours is the very first time I've heard of anyone walking out of Soundstage after Stevie was done singing. I'm thinking it's a bitchy little rumour someone must've told you, in the hopes that it would take off and become accepted as truth and as yet another sign of how awful and boorish Nicks fans are.
In reality, why would any self-respecting Nicks fan leave when the possibility existed that Stevie might come back out for the finale or an encore?
Stevie fans stay until the very end, lest they risk missing her even for a minute!

David, I am your biggest fan.
He would so nail her with that guitar. Right in her keister. Of course it would just bounce right off. And she is hardly nimble enough to either dodge the throw or chase him around. He could run circles around her and taunt her. Doing spider fingers, lasso moves, and slow slow spins as he giggles and shimmies about the stage.
I'd pay to see that show.

David, I am your biggest fan. I know. I wish occasionally you would lambast me for something--kinda like Amber!
He would so nail her with that guitar. Right in her keister. Of course it would just bounce right off. And she is hardly nimble enough to either dodge the throw or chase him around. He could run circles around her and taunt her. Doing spider fingers, lasso moves, and slow slow spins as he giggles and shimmies about the stage.Yes, yes. But let me reiterate.....also how do you spell reiterate?....that I am NOT bloodthirsty. But I do want to see Stevie-Lindsey Celebrity Death Match. I don't think there would be anything wrong with it. It could be like a more humane form of cockfighting, only with an old-bitty cackling hen & a clucking, smug, self-satisfied rooster.

On which one would you bet?
By the way, I wish Lindsey the biggest success for this tour and hope Stevie would not be with him (even If I'd fly to Usa in a minute if she was). I think he deserves to give to this tour the shape he wants to.

Quite agressively for a BTFLCHLD! Truth be told, I am a kitten who just likes to put guys on-the-spot sometimes. :sorry: I will try to be better about it.
But, quite frankly, you are adorable and make it hard.
Play fair, ok? http://i8.tinypic.com/24wg0zr.gif

This post of yours is the very first time I've heard of anyone walking out of Soundstage after Stevie was done singing. I'm thinking it's a bitchy little rumour someone must've told you, in the hopes that it would take off and become accepted as truth...
The information comes from a source that was at the performance. This person is a friend of mine and I trust what she tells me.

Maybe there were a few people around her who picked up and left, but I have serious doubts about a mass exodus.

Lindsey being the old bitty hen right? I would hope that she stops touring with Petty, records something solo, and does'nt waste her time on this.

I am not saying your source did not see what they saw. But, I, too, was there. I did see the people who got the coporate tickets and were not really interested in either of them leave a little early and be generally apathetic to the whole thing - but that was maybe one or two people I saw. Every single Ledgie and person from Nancy's and others' board I saw (maybe 20 people) stayed until the end and wanted more. I grant you many of those could have been there only to see Stevie and likely would not have gone if she had not been there, but they stayed. So, that was my experience and what I saw.

There was no mass exodus. In fact, far from it. Actually, everyone remained standing for pretty much the entire time and even through the double playing of the songs. There were some people who got tickets as a result of a corporate perk. But, even the vast majority of them stayed standing and had a blast. I mean look at the video - it pans into the audience at the end and it is still full

That's not what I said. I said <i>several</i> people walked out. Several people does not a mass exodus make.
EDIT: Oops. I guess I actually said "many." I <i>should have</i> said "several." Poor word choice. My apologies.

On which one would you bet? That's a tough call. Each one seems physically incapable of besting the other. It may be a draw.

You're kidding. You'd come all that way just to hear her sing harmony on "Say Goodbye"? I mean, hell, it's even on DVD, right?

I remember that they wouldn't even let you go to the bathroom during taping, and yet supposedly several people abruptly stood up and left? I'm not saying your friend is lying, but perhaps she is mistaken.

Sesly though...I pray to the Lord above that she doesn't join him on this tour. I'm not trying to be mean, but jeebus crow...we need a Lindsey-Only tour.

the last place i want to be is in an auditorium full of twirling gypsy angels going "WE LOVE YEW STEVIEEEE" on lindsey's tour. as if ruining say goodbye on the syw tour with that crap wasn't enough.

Yes, but how many Buckingham Nicks tours would we have? And to see her annihilate him onstage without the other two boys around playing Switzerland sounds intriguing. Just kidding, of course.

well, seeing as how I enjoy the harmonies Stevie and Lindsey produce, I would like to see Stevie join him for one...MAYBE two songs (acoustic). but I agree that it should be Lindsey's night to shine.

And it is his tour promoting his solo album for goodness sake!!! :blob2:
I know...I am being a [brat] but for once and finally I want to see Lindsey on his own...for the entire show. I know you would understand that. Besides, if she comes she comes...but I don't think she will...nor do I think she will be asked. I could be wrong. We will see.

I hope so, we have to keep her busy.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Lindsey solo only please.
I looooove La Nicks, LOVE her, but I'll echo BTFLCHLD and say that I've been waiting too damn long to see him on his own, in all his guitarsturbation glory. Yummm.;)
