View Full Version : Death?

So I've been having the most wild dreams lately!

Last week I dreamed that one of my uncles died.

Then last night I had a dream that a second uncle died (and in the dream the other uncle was also still dead), and then my brother-in-law died in the dream!

Background: My family is totally insane and I have not seen/spoken to either uncle in YEARS...years. Very few people in the family have.

My brother-in-law though - I'm closest to him, my sister and nephew

These death dreams are freaking me out!

I have death dreams all the time. If I know you I have probably had a death dream about you

The worst one was when I was walking with my sister down on the beach and she wanted to go for a swim, so I held her in the water - and all of a sudden she began to sink, and I couldn't grab her - and I watched her drown on the sea floor

I also had a death dream about Stevie - I cant remember what happened, all I know is she died, and I woke up crying and couldn't get back to sleep

One time I remember dreaming that I fell into the water off a dock and I woke up like breathing real heavy. Kinda freaked me out.

I had this dream about Stevie too and it sucked. A couple of years ago I had a dream my Mom died and she did wind up being diagnosed with breast cancer a couple of weeks later. That really freaked me out and I did not tell her about it until she was given a clean bill of health, plus I refused to let myself believe it was prophetic. I actually felt like the message was to spend some time with her cuz I'll wish I had when she is gone. Then the breast cancer just brought that message home. So I do reach out to her and see her more now. Even if she is annoying.

Stupid death sucks.

Yeah - I don't think they're prophetic or anything - most dreams aren't - they're more symbolic. All I've been able to find so far is that death of a loved one means that you're missing something in your life, like some quality, that that person embodies  I can't think of a thing I miss that either of my uncles have.

I just hate the death dreams. They freak me out.

I've been having freaky dreams lately too. Last night I was trying to find just the right dress for something. This is actually a recurring dream of mine. Everything had to be peach, I had all these peach accessories, shoes, shawl, and I could not find a peach dress. Why would I want to look like sherbet?

 Oh that's odd...maybe it means that you're currently searching for something in your life. But you know you have all these other things, but there's one component you wish you had - that in your mind would complete things!

**I'm dabbling in this dream interpretation stuff :p

I've also been having very vivid and weird dreams lately - I don't mind it - I enjoy dreaming :D

That seems to be the running theme of my life for sure. "Something's" missing.

Very cool, Freud's "On Dreams" is interesting, even though I think he was largely a kook he had a lot of insights that I think hold water.

Me too and I'd really like to begin writing them down. I don't know why I don't now, possibly fear of what is actually in my subconscious? Perhaps it is high time I swept out those cobwebs!

I always mean to write them down as well - then don't. I've actually written a couple down - I should probably write down my recent dreams. One in particular is just haunting me - it was about someone I used to date but haven't seen/thought about in YEARS...so it was so bizarre that they popped up in my dream

I dream about my ex all the time. I am usually having dinner or hanging out with his family and everyone acts as if the past 8 years never existed. It is really weird.

I also had a random dream about my first BF recently. I dreamed he murdered a whole Native American tribe. Yep. It was really strange. He definitely had some sociopathic tendencies, plus he always wanted to be a marine and that was all he wanted, and the story about the trial of those soldiers who murdered civilians in Iraq has been in the news. I think those things brought about that dream. But it was weird to me too because I also haven't thought about him for a long time.

I have been surrounded by death in my family

I have ongoing nightmares about seeing my Mom in her casket. That is the one image I would be glad to never have to have again in this lifetime, but it is one that constantly haunts me in my dreams (What is worse is the image of my murdered half-sister I have in my head from the visit at the funeral home in 1990-One I wont describe here)...And it either makes me depressed or pisses me the f**k off!

Worse is that I only dream of my own demise, never of anyone else I am close too...I dont think that is a good sign considering my families history.

pretty vivid is how I describe 'em...Maybe that is one reason I do not sleep all that well at night (One of the reasons my doctor put me on Lexapro awhile back), Add to that my ongoing illness (A growing arachnoid cyst in my right temporal lobe) and I rarely sleep more than 6 hours (Never sleep at all during a full-moon cycle, I can sense the lunar pull without viewing the moon.)

My dreams are always vivid and in color (I thought I read that we dream in black & white, Maybe someone could let me know if that is indeed true or just a fable) and sometimes I feel I am living what I dreamt, thus I feel like I am in a state of 'deja-vu'.

It's weird, but I can sense when something bad is about to happen and I am rarely wrong with that sense of forboding dread...Deb has seen it and it boggles her mind, and sometimes it frightens her, hell it frightens me!

That is pretty spooky!

I dream in color as well - and sometime they are SO vivid that I also wake up feeling as though I've just gone through what I've dreamed. Usually I don't mind that - lately I do.

If I had your dreams I would absolutely mind that. How horrid to basically re-live life's horrors in dreams...guess they're not enjoyable for everyone.

I dream about being chased by someone who is trying to murder me off and on. And I dream about my own army of dead family members quite often. They are frequently whispering to me or telling me stories. They always seem pretty peaceful and calm. Especially my father, and he was so not a peaceful or calm person. I used to have sad dreams about them, but that doesn't happen much anymore. I have never dreamed about being dead myself. Probably because I am not that worried about dying. As long as it isn't some kind of grisly tortured thing, I think death will be a big assed relief - finally, I will get all the sleep I need.

The following is true...Wished my Mom was here because it always made her wonder about the way I perceive vibes in life and why I sense the things I can.

Back in 1986 my Mother lost her job after 12 years of slaving away at a industrial laundry facility in Muskogee, OK (She missed a total of 5 days in 12 years, A feat that is quite impressive considering the temps were a constant 120-140 degrees daily and she had to move carts full of linen weighing around 1000lbs.) when she could not return to work after recovery from a surgery took longer than expected (The injury was our family carwreck on Oct.22,1977 that killed my Father).

The owner of her employer wanted her back to work due to her strong work ethnic, but since her recovery went longer than expected she was fired. The day my Mom was fired I remember her mentioning "I wish Mr.Hill would die, I really would." I looked at my Mom and told her "he will, tonight he will die." Why I said that, who knows, maybe I was being a smartass/jester trying to humor my "on the warpath" Mother to calm her down but I felt something.

Imagine the shock my Mother had the next morning when she read in the Phoenix (The Muskogee newspaper) that Mr.Hill had died of a heart-attack that same night I mentioned his demise. My Mom freaked out and would not talk to me for a couple of days, She wondered how I knew this was to unfold...But as before on a cloudy Saturday in Oct.1977 (The 22nd) I just sensed something was going to happen and said what I felt.

I, As had my 2 older brothers and Mom also sensed something dreadful was going to happen that Saturday Oct.22 on our trip to Arkansas. We tried to convince Dad that we shouldnt make the trip since we felt something bad would happen, he blew us off and we proceeded on that f**king trip...To only have it end 26 miles from our home when some drunken driver in a truck, towing a boat, swerved into our lane and hit us head on, thus 'effing' my family forevermore.

The sensing of dread doesnt end there, I sensed again on Oct.19,1989 (Think about it-My family has had deaths on Oct.18-19-22 and my brother's birthday is Oct.21!!! Superstitious, ya betcha ass! I fear Oct.20th!!!!) after talking to my 2 cousins that afternoon with Mom in tow. I remember telling Mom something was going to happen because I had that nervous anxiety feeling again, to which she didnt really give much a concern.

The next day, again in the Phoenix newspaper, was a picture of the aftermath of a very bad carwreck on York Street that occurred when a drunken driver, trying to outrun the police plowed into a innocent motorist who was on her way to make a bank deposit for her employer Arby's.

This motorist, her co-worker and younger brother died instantly from the impact and their car ran into the local employment agency building (The drunken driver died at the scene as well, His passenger suffered a broken back/spine when the 90+MPH impact threw him through his passenger seat into the back seat of the 1977 Camaro as they hit the 1989 Hundyai)...Yeah, the female driver and her younger brother were my cousins Wendy & Wendell.

My Mom just looked at me weirdly (If that is a word) and just said "You knew...". She was spooked about that sense of dread I have, and figure if I sense something bad is going to happen then to watch the hell out.

Sadly, I never sensed any thing would happen when she went into surgery on March 7,2005. I talked to her later that evening and for the final time ever on March 9,2005-Three days before her birthday (She mentioned to me "I think I'm gonna die", to which I replied "No yer not-yer too f**king mean to die" to humor her).

Mom called my older brother Geary (His birthday is Oct.21st-Dad who was and forever will be Geary Sr. died Oct.22nd), my older sister Lesa (Who just discover Mom after searching for 30+ years for her to only lose her less than 2 months later) and myself on Sunday March 6,2006 to ask should she have this surgery, she was scared-to-absolute-death the hospital would kill her that she was hoping one of us would talk her out of it, But sadly we all thought it would be best to get the surgery done with so she could get on with life and make up the lost time with Lesa & my oldest sister Chris.

That sucks because it is supposed to be a fairly routine surgery. :distress: I'm sorry your 6th sense didn't work in this case.

I can't believe your Mom was fired after her husband died. What a f*cking jerk that guy was. Also, I'm surprised she wouldn't talk to you when you said that about her boss, weren't you only like 7 years old?

I received news today that a very close family friend has had his cancer return throughout his body. He is undergoing treatment but they have also stated "2 months." I say a prayer for him tonight, and all those suffering in life and death.

Thankfully, I rarely have unpleasant dreams. Those I am afraid would haunt me to my waking hours...and that would truly suck. I did have two horrible dreams as a child. They happen that rarely. In one a bumble bee died when it was stuck in a bike sprocket. Like the scene in "The Fly," the bee cried out "help me." :( The other dream was a lady in white with her heel stuck in a sidewalk grate. Her dress billowed like Marilyn's while a train sucked her through the grate. Nothing could've saved her. :distress: Oh wait, I did have another bad dream. I was walking in an old childhood neighborhood, and these guys were following me around on skateboards trying to kidnap me. They found it impossible.

Mom always believed she was fired because she was 42 years old, not because she hadnt recovered from surgery since the owner liked the younger women for the usual reasons...My Mom didnt play that **** since she always considered herself 'one of the boys".

Oh, my sense about Mr.Hill happened when I was 16 years old, she freaked out about it cause she remembered the sensing in Oct.1977 (When I was 7 years old.)

Kinda weird, but when I was in kindergarten, while during art-time others kids drew the usual pictures of rainbows/parents/pets/etc while I drew full scaled WWII pictures which amazed my teacher Mrs.Burgess. I still have those images in my head, and yet I never could explain where they came from....They did not come from watching movies nor reading WWII books

They are frequently whispering to me or telling me stories. I had a non-scary dream involving my deceased father. In the dream I was at the last house he owned and that we shared. I opened a cabinet and came upon a large picture book. Inside the book were pretty, scenic paintings. I sat on a sidechair while slowly viewing the pages. As I flipped a page, a folded note fell onto my lap. Just as I was unfolding the note, I could sense something beginning to form at the very ceiling above me. As my eyes focused on the note I could also sense the formation becoming stronger in intensity (a misty golden yellow growing ever brighter.) As I read the words, I heard his voice whisper "don't ever worry...I am always here for you." I looked toward the vision as it beemed to its brightest and then faded into thin-air. I will never forget that dream.

These death dreams are freaking me out!I wouldn't worry about it. Dreams don't predict occurances, you don't have to worry any more because of them. They just reflect your conscious or subconscious thoughts. a friend recently applied to a job and had dreams she didn't get it and was therefore convinced she wouldn't get it. Obviously that wasn't her seeing events to come but just her concerns that she wouldn't get it being visualised in a dream. I don't kno where people get the idea that dreams are anything but our own thoughts and fears they're not as mysterious as we make them out to be. you're probably worried about your family members, consciously or subconsciously.

Freaky. I don't usually have those kinds of dreams anymore. I remember having a similar one when I was a little kid... Some guy was trying to get into the house to steal something from (and eventually) kill me. I can still see it so clearly in my head; I remember being so scared after that! I didn't want to answer the door for awhile.

I had one not too long ago where I was walking in the mall with my aunt, and suddenly these men grabbed the back of my jacket and just hauled me off. I couldn't yell for my aunt to help, I was totally frozen. I woke up actually calling for her. I don't think I slept that night!

I used to dream up all sorts of weird **** when I was younger, though. Really strange, nonsensical stuff.

As some Ledgies know, I've been the resident dream interpreter. Don't know how much of it has actually been helpful, but I find the whole topic of interpreting dreams completely fascinating.

I don't buy the notion that we dream in black in white because so many dreams (and many Ledgie dreams), predominantly feature colour. That tends to stand out more than anything else. I'm talkin' to you BTFLCLD, with those piercing blue Lindsey eyes...

So yeah, death dreams usually mean transition, not death itself. So yeah, if anyone feels they want a dream interpretation, visit Madame Red in her mystical PM box.:p

Sylvia Brown was on Montel today. She was asked about dreams and her reply was that dreams can be premonitions. That made me kinda nervours. Then someone asked her about dreams in which you die and she said those are representative of a past life. Thank God because I've had four dreams in which I died. Guess that means I'm on my 5th turn, at least... unless I have more dreams where I die. UGH!!
