Now that Lindsey's releasing two new CDs, I wonder if that will inspire Stevie to get her butt back into the studio.

Hopefully...with Fleetwood Mac. Lindsey's probably been done with both CDs for months now. After his SHORT tour, he'll probably start on the next Fleetwood Mac album. It's too late for Stevie to be starting a solo project at this point, with the Fleetwood Mac 40th Anniversary just around the corner.

I hadn't heard this. When are they coming out?

As much as I'd love to see another album with Fleetwood Mac, lately I've been more in the mood for another solo album.

I hadn't heard this. When are they coming out?Lindsey's new album is called 'Under The Skin,' and it's set to be released on October 3rd. It's reported to be a more stripped-down acoustic album, with minimal drums and no bass.
Then L.B. told USA Today this past week that he also has another, "more rocking" album planned for 2007.

She'll probably drop a bombshell like Lindsey is doing and surprise us all by announcing an album and it will be released shortly there after.

Wow! That's great news! I'm really surprised. I had no idea he was working on one. That's something to look forward to. I think his songs on SYW were the best of his career. Now if only Stevie had decided to hang out in the studio for the past year and a half instead of touring with all her buds...then we'd have a CD from her, too!!:( :( Still, I'm very excited to hear LB's new stuff! Thanks for the update

It sure was a bombshell, wasn't it?! He certainly kept it well under wraps.

just around the corner, one mouseclick away, we are discussing this for quite a while. Just every now and then a click on the other boards gives quite alot of nice info. Yesterday I checked the pre-rumoursboard and was online together with jeremy spencer himself.

I hope it's true, actually I'm quite convinced it would happen. And I was also convinced Lindsey's album was coming. :D

I didn't think they'd ever release solo stuff again.

They both seem to have this reputation with me of being nonreleasers.

my rant....

i've been kind of itching to hear some new solo stuff too. it's been 5 years already. i was just thinking the other day that obviously nothing's gonna be released this year and IF by some chance it's next year, it will be 6 years since TISL. time sure flies. but i doubt she will drop a "bomb" as she's not an instrumentalist/producer like Lindsey, who can basically stay holed up in his own studio and make a cd. She needs a couple of producers and basically a whole band. I don't think any future release will just suddenly appear without leaks in the media months or even a year prior to it even happening. so scratch that idea.

i don't know what kind of stevie i'd be wanting to hear next. don't know if i'd want her to dig in the vaults for half the album or what. actually, i have no clue what any of her "new" stuff would sound like. but i'm definately itching to hear songs she's written in the past several years. is she still using the same chords? her position in life at this point has an effect on her writing. there's really no drama that we know of. isn't that what she needs to be a good writer/songwriter?

i think she still has some great stuff in her vaults that deserve to get out to the public, or at least some of my favorite demos: china doll, forest of the black roses, baby doll (? - the one with the heartbreakers), three birds of rhiannon, mistaken love...my mind's a blank...i'm sure there's others....runs out to truck to grab fm cd briefcase....ok, i'm back...lets see.... if you were my love (although it might be a mistaken love? hahaha), oooh...24k gold (chain of chains), julia, blue water, lady from the mountain, but i'd like it to be less produced....more stripped down. maybe an acoustic earthy type approach with some of those scaled down demos?

you know, maybe she could do something like what Lindsey's doing....but she could grab whatever goodies she's got from the vaults and do them as a more toned down/acoustic (piano, guitar etc) thing and then come out with another album as a follow-up with all new songs. see, in the old days, she would always throw some older songs on her records...but, at the time those "old" songs were only maybe 5 or 6 years old tops. now we're talking 25-30 years old. i don't know, part of me says keep the old stuff as such and keep the new stuff separate. the vibe is just too mixed up switching back and forth within an album. of course, the general public doesn't know the difference...but we are NOT the "general public."

as far as fleetwood is concerned...if they toured, i'd go see them. but i REALLY miss christine to no end. i was thinking about her the other day too and i wish the hell she would come out of "retirement" for a while. i think she should come out and do one last fm studio album/tour and then just call it a day....selfish aren't we? we'll never get enough as long as they're all alive.

An acoustic album from Stevie would be nice.

I miss Christine a lot too. If Mac toured in '07, I'd be on the fence to see more than a local show. I enjoyed the SYW tour, but not nearly as much as The Dance. To that end, I didn't really see The Dance CD as closure for the band (meaning the Rumours lineup). In my mind, SYW should have been Christine's swan song, one last album consisting of the principle three writers.

I would hardly call it a bombshell..considering how many years in between for him. Stevie is no where near even beginning a new project. There will be a new FM project before that happens.

I sure hope so. I think if she would of released an album shortly after TISL, it would of definitely had a good chance of reaching higher sales than TISL.

As someone who has been tracking her for her entire solo career I have to agree with this .I have always been able to find out the names of albums etc months or even years before their release. The one exception was in June 1984 with no apparent leaks or notice(of course there was no internet then)the follow up to The Wild Heart was announced in adds in Rolling Stone and Billboard for release that July then just as suddenly the album was shelved. It took another year and a half for Rock a Little to be made with plenty of ongoing news bits on the album's progress.

Billboard, in particular, is good about posting when artists are working on a CD. They usually don't have much more info than that but at least it lets fans know something will be out at some point. Sadly, not a peep about Stevie. Honestly, I think if she were working on something, that's all she would do until it was finished. I don't think she would be doing all this touring and working on a record in between.
