read about some more info (not much) about the new album:

http://www.i95rock.com/music/rockreport.php

this radio station is reporting that the album was started before the Dance tour. so i think it's safe to assume that we will be hearing some Gift Of Screws leftovers. They also confirm the Oct. 3rd release date.

And the basis for your "safe assumption" is this radio station?

FLEETWOOD MAC: Buckingham Is Finally Finished
Fleetwood Mac singer and guitarist Lindsey Buckignham has finally completed his first solo album in 14 years. Under the Skin is tentatively scheduled to be released by Warner Brothers on October 3rd. Buckingham started work on the album before the Mac reunited for The Dance tour in 1997. He went back to it after that tour, but those songs are what ended up on the band's 2003 album, Say You Will. Buckingham, whose last album was Out of the Cradle in 1992, plans to support Under the Skin with a tour.

I think there is no need for any further explanation here in this place.

As for the article. I don`t know if their info is accurate or if they just mixed old informations together, which I very much hope. I`m still holding my breath for completely new material. What about the songs LB has been "writing on like crazy" as he stated during the last FM tour?

Thanks for the link btw.

basis for safe assumption is the time when lindsey started the songs that will now be part of Under The Skin.

My bet is that we'll get a great combination of Gift Of Screws songs along with some new ones.

Everyone has to keep in mind that even though the GOS songs are old to all of us, the mainstream fans (and what's left of rock radio) hasn't heard them yet.

At this juncture, I'm deciding to discontinue listening to Lindsey with and without FM in preparation for the new material. Then when the new material arrives, I'll be elated regardless if we get just GOS material or GOS mixed with new material! I never get why people play an artist's music while sitting in the parking lot waiting to go into their concert. What a way to spoil hearing the goods live! Hence forth, no Liddy B~ oh life won't be the same without him for 8 weeks:(

i agree with you.
i'm not into listening to a band's music on the way to see them.
but i also don't like listening to Christmas music on Christmas.

i went a whole 6 months or so with no FM or Stevie or Lindsey . it was around the time that R.E.M.'s Life's Rich Pagaent came out. i listened to that album over and over and over every day. It was a nice break from FM. but i fell hard for R.E.M.

but i digress...

i don't know the tracks for all you suspicious people out there....
i may live in LA but my record company contacts are really lacking these days.
But i am confident that we'll see some GOS tracks - probably a few of the best - Down On Rodeo, maybe She Smiled Sweetly.

i remember years ago somebody discovered a publishing website where you could see songwriter credits and dates, etc.
not sure if it was ascap or bmi - but people were able to see new songs written by stevie and made some pretty good predictions about songs that eventually showed up on SYW.

anyone know what that site was?

Well, for on thing, THIS album wasn't started before The Dance. Gifts of Screws was. I'm not quite sure about whats going to be on UTS, though.

Isn't it the US Copyright Office (http://www.copyright.gov/)?

Looks like there's nothing new under Lindsey's name there yet, but I suggest someone keep his/her eyes on it 24 hours a day. ;)

It can go disastrously wrong. It could be another co-production with Mark Needham.
