I'm really enjoying this thread (at least I feel a little bad about it.)
Love this one and the Iwo Jima best so far. One's my desktop at work and one at home.

Stevie was asked to make a cameo in the film "Children Of Men" but was told to leave after an F/X charge prematurly detonated on set killing several stunt people and extras.

i like the fourth one.

[cristochango]

Thanks Paleshadow. I guess people assume because someone finds something offensive they are requesting it to be removed. I can assure peeps that is not the case here, as noted with my quote above.

Anyways, I think I know what Stevie would really look like amidst tragedy...just like the rest of us.

No, this was from the walter reed institute i think. Or from a memorial day, however was in the last year or so
No. It was in Virginia at the tomb of the unknown soldier.

From www.nicksfix.com (emphasis supplied)

January 14th, 2006

I haven’t written in my journal for weeks. That is very unlike me…I think it is because my last 3-day trip to Bethesda, Walter Reed and Arlington National Cemetery deeply affected me. It happens every time I go~

It actually leaves me speechless…

Each time I go I find out more about the war thru these young peoples’ eyes. One boy said – “Don’t idolize us~ at the point of battle we are just fighting to keep our friends alive~ Iraqi and American… I guess that is what we would all do. You are on a team~ and the Iraqi people are lovely~ and you bond. You are emotionally touched by something every day and in simple terms, you feel that you are helping. That is what freedom means to them and they are willing, everyday, to risk their lives for it.

So, as Mick and I went from room to room delivering their tiny iPod~ they told us their stories. Mick became his tall, loving, father figure, English self~ taking in every word they said~ remaining calm (at least on the outside) inspiring them. We floated from room to room down thru the halls of the 2 hospitals over a three-day period. We gave out all our iPods. Right before I left for D.C., Stephen Tyler and Joe Perry dug into their pockets and came up with $10,000 for me. In my eyes they went from the coolest rock stars to generous great men~ as my press agent Liz Rosenberg said~ every returning wounded soldier should be given an iPod. It will be an integral part of their recovery.

The morning of the second day, Mick and I went to Arlington National Cemetery. We had no idea what to expect that day. We walked among the graves and stood together in the exact place where John Kennedy had stood two weeks before his death. He is buried there~ overlooking Washington, D.C. He has the best view in the city. He is everywhere there and you can feel it.

We went then to lay a wreath upon the tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The ceremony takes place in a great white stone structure~ an amphitheatre. It was very grand. We visited a moment in the display room where specific medals and flags are housed~ beautiful folded blue flags like the one I have that was my fathers. And then, as only heads of state are usually allowed to do, we walked thru the doors of history and down the many steps to the great white tomb of the unknown soldiers~

The tomb guard says….

“Stevie Nicks and Mick Fleetwood are here to represent the 90,000 men and women that did not return.” We laid our hands on the wreath and walked 4 steps. Then the tomb guard took the wreath and laid it down. Then, out of nowhere came a soldier with a trumpet. Softly~ and delicately~ he played Taps~ the saddest song of all~ and he played it beautifully. As Mick and I went back up the stairs, it occurred to me that I would never forget this moment~ and what it might mean to die for one’s country. Then I cried. You can’t not cry. It is all so terribly serious. Mick Fleetwood and Stevie Nicks have never stood so straight. My only regret is that my father, who died at the end of last summer, was not there with us. He would have been so proud.

Then we went on to visit the graves of the 7 astronauts who did not make it back. Christa McAuliffe and I shared the same birthday, May 26th. I definitely had a moment with her. She would do it all again. Christa wanted to fly.

So all that said, what we try to do on our visits, is to use our power to call back that charmed, childlike innocence~ and the answer to that, in my opinion~ is music. Music gives you the strength to keep moving. Music inspires you. Inspired people don’t stay down.

So, in closing, it was awesome. I have never seen so many beautiful long eyelashes in one place. One can’t help but fall in love with each one of them. And Dr. Wagner and Ellen and Mike and Joe and Elaine, you are….
My heroes~

Thank you to the USO of Metropolitan Washington for letting us come to your hospitals~

You are awesome.

I'm a... fraid. Good afternoon, gentlemen. I am a HAL 9000 computer. I became operational at the H.A.L. plant in Urbana, Illinois on the 12th of January 1992. My instructor was Mr. Langley, and he taught me to sing a song. If you'd like to hear it I can sing it for you.
Stevie Nicks: Yes, I'd like to hear it, HAL. Sing it for me.
HAL: It's called "Rhiannon."

Some of these "Stevie of Death" photos are so well done, and so side-splittingly hilarious. I wonder if any of these images have made their way back to Stevie's camp.

I can imagine Stevie and her "people" laughing their asses off over them.

[sara1998]

Remember that "tourist of death" photo that made the rounds after September 11th? As soon as everyone realized it was a fake, thousands of edited photos of the Tourist in compromising situations appeared on the internet. He was like the new Kilroy for a few months.

But did anyone do a Stevie of Death? Well, I have.

I have no photoshop skills but someone needs to take the holograph sticker image from this ebay auction and use it in one of these Stevie of Death photos.

Does anyone actually have one of these holograms? It just looks so creepy to me. LOL!

[Livia]

I have one and it's not creepy at all. A friend of mine used to own a Spencer's-type store called Lone Star Illusions. He sold a ton of holograms, that were already matted and framed under glass. My Stevie one is in my foyer, she greets and smiles at all who enter my home.

A great 1970's movie with a great actor Dennis Weaver.

[skuncles]

"Duel" is a great movie, who'd a thunk that basically an hour and a half of a guy driving would be so interesting. Proof of how good Steven Spielberg was even then!!

[UndoingTheLaces]

We were having officer nominations for a club I'm in today and I was lamenting to my friend that if I were to be nominated for club President I didn't think I could handle the responsibility. He looked at me very earnestly and said, "I had a dream last night that a woman appeared to me shimmering in gold and surrounded by long flowing robes. At first I thought it was Our Lady of Guadalupe but then I realized it was Stevie Nicks... and she said, "He is ready".

Wide eyed I said, "you're kidding".

He said, "yes, I'm kidding. Man up, you're gonna get it so deal with it"

I was the only one nominated. And when that part of the meeting came I pulled up this picture and flashed it to him across the meeting table and he almost brought a halt to the entire meeting laughing so hard. LOL. So thank you IKV Nexis for posting that.

You are very welcome!:]

BUMP! With Stevie and the Mac somewhat underground for now and not much forum activity, I thought I would dig up this old thread. I can't believe the last post was in June of 2012! I always got a kick out of these, and they absolutely tickled a friend of mine who's not even really a fan. If we have any new Ledgies with great Photoshop skills, maybe they would like to make some new ones. Or we could just re-post some of our favorites.

:shocked:You almost gave me a heart attack, when i first read the headline ( The death of Stevie) PHEW!!! lol now i remember this long lost thread:D

[vivfox]

People used to get sooo darn offended when I'd post some of these.

[MikeInNV]

This one was always a favorite of mine:

That friend of mine who isn't even a big fan loved this one so much he printed it out and put it on his fridge:

Omg is that Stevie Nicks? Is it real?

Is there an HQ?

[Rachelclairexx]

Thanks for nearly giving me a heart attack! I don't understand this at all, WHY? Why would you want to make light of such situations? There is a reason no-one has commented on this thread for ages, its a load of rubbish.

I knew you weren't saying anything bad. I just used your quote to give an example of a positive(from you) and a negative from the other girl. It's always a good idea to show both sides of a discussion. Just for the record, I never created any of the images. My job is to copy and paste for the world to enjoy. I didn't look through this thread and haven't in years. I just figured that if I contributed to this, which I'm almost sure I did then I do recall some SN fans having a tizzy fit, that is all.

[Rachelclairexx]

I commented on this thread because I was shocked at the title, which I read as the Death of Stevie, I have read through the thread and can see that it caused quite the ruffles, and people gave valid , genuine reasons why they found this sort of thing not for them.... and also why some liked it. I feel quite free to say that really I didn't find any of the images funny, and it's really not for me, but people are free to do whatever they want, I am not really fussed! I just wont look at this thread again. Peace and love ladies. Rachel. xx

Was thinking about this. If we want to continue this we need to create a new general photoshop thread. Stevie Of Death I think is a bit too dark and not easy to find images to work with. A general photoshop thread will open the doors to new ideas. As long as we keep it family friendly. :D

Thanks for clearing that up, you had me worried there for a minute. :xoxo: lol some people need to just lighten up, 99% were all in good humor ;)

Hopefully IKV Nexis and others that know how to Photoshop are keen to create some new goodies..

Cheers

TITLE: "Little PhotoShop Of Stevie"

A new thread dedicated to Photoshopping Stevie Nicks with and without Fleetwood Mac or others.

All are welcome to participate and show off their photoshoping skills (Or lack thereof) by editing Stevie and others into, well lets just say, any and all situations or image modifications.

I Think there should be only one rule to abide by here and that is no Porn. Meaning no hard core sex depictions. Although we may include images that depict Stevie or others nude in an artistic or tasteful (or funny) way. But try to keep it to that and avoid the hard stuff.

If we are in agreement with this I will start a new thread for this and restate the rules. If anyone has any other ideas or rules we might need to consider please add your thoughts here for discussion before we begin.

Thanks all :D

EDIT!!!!: The first page of the new "Little Photoshop Of Stevie" Has now been Posted. Please direct your attention and comments or entries to that thread. Thanks!!!

[SandyMac]

Oh this is so awesome! Thank you for resurrecting this thread for SOD.
I have a wicked sense of humor many may not get. I think the many SOD photos have been so awesome. Back then I did not know how to do photoshop, but I do now. ;):D:nod:

There was a request for this thread to be revived, so I took a few minutes to whip up a low-quality photoshop (but isn't the poor quality part of the charm lol):
