I am taking the liberty of posting this news HERE as well as the Lindsey Buckingham board. I hope no one minds. ;) It so RARE to get a new Lindsey album that it's worth repeating. Besides, John McVie said this album was coming!

Glad I didn't disappoint.

Yeah, Under the Skin...sounds like it's stripped down acoustically...ala Shut Us Down perhaps. Hmmmm.....

Also...wierd how none of the tracks have been leaked on the net. Are they 100% all new to us or did he strip down some of the GOS songs?

That's what I was thinking -- what are people's expectations?

To me it sounds like new stuff...

OOOO!
How exciting. Now in October I get new LB and new Killers. YAY.
Here's hoping the album isn't a let down in any possible way.
"Acoustic Album" makes me a little nervous that it's one of those albums where the artist does acoustic versions of their old songs. Not that that's necesarrily a bad thing, but I'm sure we're all much more eager to hear NEW material from the guy.
Hopefully it has some of the GOS stuff on it. Especially the Stones covers

October of what year?

(And, seriously, an acoustic album with a month long tour? Fourteen years for an acoustic album and month-long tour???)

Until then, I remain my skeptical self.

Well, a lot of tours of the size his will probably be stop by Lupos down in Providence, so who knows. Odds are he'll play Boston, which is good for me as long as it isn't 18+. Then I will be outraged.

Yeah, I don't care for Lupo's. I know that I don't care for casinos but I was sort of hoping for Lincoln Park (It'a a video gaming and dog racing place)in Lincoln, RI or something. They have a nice club in there and I can see Lindsey playing there. I think that the shows are normally GA so that would be fine with me.

Which leads to the problematic application of the word "unplugged" in today's pop world: What exactly does it mean? It seems to have something to do with the use of acoustic guitars instead of electric guitars in the traditional pop-rock combo situation, but the exact meaning keeps shapeshifting. Let's remember that all sorts of instruments & equipment are plugged in regularly: amplifiers, monitors, FX pedals & devices, microphones & other recording equipment, etc.

My guess is that this is going to be very much like Soundstage, whatever level of "unplugged" you consider that to be.

i haven't seen anything about Under The Skin being "unplugged".
that definition got blurred in the 90's. i remember hearing people referring to the Dance as "unplugged".
an acoustic album from Lindsey Buckingham I'm sure will still sound pretty firey and loud.

Hopefully it will all be all new material (or some GOS stuff), but an album of other songs that have been "Big Love-ized" could be cool as well, even if it isn't as exciting as all new material.

I know this is sort of a silly question, but is there a chance that he'll be younger on this tour? :o

I keep hoping that they'll get younger, these Macstars. They all look as if they just got off the streets of Mexico in "Touch of Evil."

David, if great minds do indeed think alike, then clearly I must be as erudite, higbrow and smart as you because I keep hoping they'll all be younger on the forthcoming tours too.

Do you think I should reflect this great meeting of minds by having a bust of some great female composer as my avatar so that my posts at least look as if they have the same gravitas as yours?

(Personally, I would like Lindsey to look like he did during the Tusk era or the OOTC period on this tour, if possible)

Ofcourse, if your expectation that FM will discover the fountain of youth in time for their tours is judged by others as not the work of a great mind but of someone who has simply lost his marbles, then I'm afraid I don't want to be associated with you and we never had this online conversation:laugh:
