This is very exciting news! I won't be a downer and go into my concerns that this album is going to be in the vein of "Shut Us Down" and "Say Goodbye"... I'll just say that I'm beyond thrilled he has something new on its way in a matter of months. It's been a long wait for solo album number four!

Yeah. I'm not that worried, surely he'll play right next to me somewhere? He's only touring for a month, though? I hope he goes a bit longer. Does "acoustic album" mean all the songs will have only one guitar, or does it mean it will be an album of his usual 10 layered guitar parts?
Edit -   "Sucks to be you."

There's still a chance that it'll be cancelled but since it's so close, it's less likely than with GOS. And if FM tour next year, it'll have to come out in October. Here's your chance boy, don't miss it!
It doesn't matter to me whether it's just old songs acoustically or 'new' songs with borrowings from the old ones. I'll take anything at this point.

You think thats bad, Last year i spent £2,200 on a turner guitar. Then i got engaged (£1,500 on a ring)now im getting married in a fortnight (£15,000 for the wedding) plus we spent £250,000 on a house and (£30,000 to furnish it). Two weeks ago i bought a toyota mr2 (£5,000) and we spent £3,000 on flights and hotels in california and need about roughly the same amount to spend on our honemoon when we get there. we get back mid september to greet our Arcehitect for another new house were building and he's looking £3000 up front.
After all that.....I told my wife to be, "no sooner that we get back from the USA we will be booking flights straight back out to go see Lindsey Buckingham". Now thats commitment.
My lovely Michelle said "that sounds great, I cant wait". No wonder i'm marring her.

Gerald you are so passionate about his music it would be a real shame if you didn't go.. Just f**k it for once.. Its what those little plastic cards from banks were made for. You will forever regret it if you don't go. Its not a Fleetwood Mac greatest hits tour. Its LB playing HIS music in a solo gig. Think about it.

This is phenominal news- I have been dying to see a small intimate Lindsey show! Hopefully he'll come back to Atlanta- I think he played at the Variety Playhouse on the OOTC tour?
The acoustic album sounds great- my only concern is with all the great GOS material that so many people may never hear. I have been listening to that album A LOT lately, and have come to one (unfortunate?) conclusion- this album as a piece of work is SO much better than SYW. This coming from a hardcore FM fanatic. Everyone knows how obsessed I am with Stevie, but aside from a few songs like Thrown Down, I find most of her SYW material to be some of her weakest.
GOS? Definitely Lindsey's best work. I love the whole album (atleast the way we have it) and the way it flows. I REALLY hope that songs like SGCYM, Down on Rodeo, Gift of Screws, Twist of Fate, and Try for the Sun see the day.
BUT- onward with a hopefully fantastic acoustic album and little tour! EXCITEMENT!

I sent you a PM. I agree... the Troub would be nice! I'm embarassed to admit that I'd never even heard of Largo (which is weird because I go down Fairfax all the time),
I third the Troubadour. It's my favorite venue over here. I saw Robin Guthrie there, so it brings back memories of some excellent guitar playing. More importantly, there's a lot more space and the upper level so you can still get a good view.

You think maybe he's been reading these boards? Some of our "stop overproducing" requests? Mwah, I'll bet he'll even manage to overproduce acoustic songs ;)

I regret every single day...not going to the Soundstage show. This tour will make up for that though!!
Sorry, but if I don't say this, I'll explode.
NO Stevie.
NO GYOW.
NO Big Love acoustic.
NO Stones covers.
NO covers...period.
NO guitar army.
Just Lindsey, his guitar, a comfy chair and a spotlight. That's IT....PLEASE.
I'm so excited! :blob2:  Only LB with his guitar... could be nothing more than amazing!!!!

new album ... acoustic? I like that idea. More á lÃ* Shut Us Down, very nice.
You think maybe he's been reading these boards? Some of our "stop overproducing" requests? Mwah, I'll bet he'll even manage to overproduce acoustic songs ;)
October. That gives me plenty of time to save money for a plane ticket. Not.

Hey! Lindsey! Psst... Paradiso? Vera???
Yes Mari, we live in the wrong part of the world. :( But at least the album is coming!

I know, love. It's just that I have a family too. I f**cked it for once three years ago. Pricey stuff that was worth every penny. We'll see. Be sure that I'll try everything I can.I know the feeling. I'm still smarting from the last 3 years of Stevie/Fleetwod Mac. But it was worth every penny I had!:)

Why do you think the shows will be GA? Won't there still be a ticket charge? I hope that he doesn't play friiggin casinos.:rolleyes:Well, there is sort of a precedent for that. Didnt Fleetwood Mac play 2 shows at some casino late in the tour in 2004 in California?

Of course there still will be a ticket charge. Alot of Cradle shows were GA... HoB type venues are often GA...just makes sense. Its not like he is going to play arenas or sheds...

I hope that he does not play sheds or arenas as an opening act for another artist. He did that for Tina Turner.:distress: I just want to see him in a small club like I did for the OOTC show up in Boston.
Come on Lindsey we need some more info!!

I'm bummed that this guy won't be playing the state fair circuit. October is too late to hit the majority of the great state fairs. I think his music would mix well with the ambience of the state fairs: cheese pies, fruit pies, canning exhibitions, quilts, livestock, pig races, antique tractors, churro stands, corn dog stands, sack races, fireworks, etc. It's practically the story of his life. I don't know why he doesn't take advantage of the state fair schedule.

If the shows are GA, they should be very reasonable.
Venues are in the 750-1500 capacity range, and tickets will be around $50.00.

the Chickasaw Nation just built the largest casino in Oklahoma ("Riverwind") with a state-of-the-art 1000 capacity concert venue not far from OKC (Less than 2 miles South from the infamous "Lindsey street" exit highway sign that some Ledgies have seen on trips to OKC.)
$50.00 is a decent amount for a show these days.

Thank you! I used to post here a long time ago... 1998 to 2000-ish.
Not in the Lindsey camp. Can't be too specific, but I just recently left a promoter that will be doing one of the dates on the tour, and that capacity/ticket range will be true for most of the dates on the tour (which will not be very long, by the way. Only the very major cities- 20 dates max)

Really? Well, I'm going to be hitting as many of those major cities as I can! I'm really nervous about a vacation I'm already booked for the second week of October. I'm hoping the tour starts after I get back or I'll be LIVID.

Can you cancel that vacation and make it a Lindsey vacation instead? I guess that 750-1000 seats means that this is not a club tour.

I'm going to see Midlake next week for 11 euros. In Paradiso. (a small but very important venue in Amsterdam)

the one and the same. Sadly with the Riverwind casino's location (I-35 & the Goldsby exit) traffic on gamedays will be the worse ever seen.

I just can't wait for this album. :):):)
Under The Skin sounds like a really cool title and I can imagine a nice acoustic track in the vein of Go Insane as the title track. It sounds like a title that would have a similar atmosphere.

The Chickasaw Nation was smart in the location of the Riverwinds casino, They know that not all the 'Red Necks & White Trailertrash' OU fans can pull away from the alure of their possible 'retirement fund' being won in a casino on gameday.
Hell, I could care less...I am an Okla.St Cowboy & USC Trojan fan!!! F**k OU!!!
