ANything ANYTHING by the evil and satanic and horrid Mariah Carey (have I mentioned I don't enjoy her?).
Also:
-you're beautiful - James Blunt (this song makes me want to put sharp objects in my eyes.)
-My Humps - Black Eyed Peas (I'm thinking lets just throw the entire women's liberation movement down the toilet - these songs are degrading and stupid and maddening.)
-That paris hilton song
-Some song I don't know the name of but it enrages me - I think it's be a group called Finger 11 or something "if I traded it aaaaalll if I gave it aaaal away for something, wouldn't that be something." And "even if I know I don't wanna know..." Ugh - HATE HATE HATE!!!!
ok - I'm absolutely sure there are more - but my dander's already up so I'm stopping :p

What I want to know is how some people can love Shakira but call Stevie the goat-voiced wonder. :p I can't stand that song, or Unfaithful. You're right, it is whiny and sounds very forced. Common trait among many young singers these days, unfortunately.
Crazy For You, by Madonna. Bias aside, she does not sound good here at all. It's the whole forced sound again.
Most of the current stuff. Especially those damn Pussycat Dolls. As if we need more talentless chicks slutting it up and setting a bad example for their young fans. Not to mention their lyrics...
How about RRRRRRRRRRicooooo Suuuaaaaaaave?

In my opinion, if Cher thinks she can make a buck, she will change her musical style to fit whatever is in fashion for the day. She doesnt seem to have any integrity to her music. She just goes by what will sell. Music is an after thought to her. I think music should be something a lot more personal than that. However, I think she got a little wake up call with the follow up album to Believe. It did not sell well at all. And just to add, I hate that thing they do with her voice in both of those songs. It sounds like a computer singing.

Nah. Many homos I know don't care for her.
I don't loathe her myself. I think of Cher in terms similar to how I think of Vegas - sheer cheese and camp. Her gift is taking that and elevating it to an art form. She is spectacle personified. I could never regard her as an Artist the way I look at most of the singers and musicians I admire, but she amuses me in terms of culture and sheer entertainment value. I don't see that she has an emotional investment in her music, but she doesn't pretend to. She is a SHOW. And she does it the way it should be done. Full Vegas, baby.
As a person, I think she is pretty cool. I love her f- you take no prisoners attitude. Must say, shame about the face, though.

I have no idea who the artist is - but I keep hearing it on the radio and cringe - the lyrics are stupid - some guy thumbing through a photo album - "This was when we were in school...what's that in Jimmy's hair..." I don't know, I just hate it...

And I'm not too knowledgable about new music - but I'm sure if I turned on a top 40 station I'd be able to fill more space...I'm admittedly closed-minded about music - but I am getting slightly better :o

I'll never forget it. I took my neighbor, my best friends little sister. I was 21 and she was 17. It was her first concert. It was in winter, there was an ice storm, and we took the BUS ! no, that's cool...I don't idolize her or anything...and I agree with you. I guess my point was that I never realized she was anything BUT that. she's one of those "entertainers" you know? not necessarily an artist.

God, any Fleetwood Mac song. Burned out'D. Except Mystery to Me, that always sounds orgasmic on vinyl. I can listen to Tusk sometimes, but.. eh. Same with Stevie's solo stuff, and Christine's.
Also, I can't stand anything by Natasha Beddingfield, or James Blunt - those voices, ugh. I don't mind Rush, so long as Geddy Lee shuts his mouth.
PS: "Maxwell's Silver Hammer" is obvs the worst Beatles song ever.

- "Bad Day" by Daniel Powter. It was okay at first, but it grates my nerves like crazy now. Shut up already, your songs give ME a bad day.
- "Take My Breath Away", Jessica Simpson. And "These Boots Were Made For Walking", while I'm at it. Jessica sweetheart, next time you pick a song to ruin, don't pick songs that are classics.

Because I still happen to like a few of the people here? And I still like Lindsey's solo work and admire his production skills? And "with every fiber of your being" is kind of a lame way to put it, as there isn't a single song that I could say I detest that much. So I figured I'd just post stuff I'm not a fan of/sick of, and I answered honestly.
I used to be majorly into FM, like it was all I listened to. Then I got sick of it. However, there are a few people that I still like on this board, so why should I leave? Besides, I only post on the Chit Chat forum anymore, as the serious, heart-felt discussions of "omg who should play FM in a movie" don't enthrall me, sorry to say. And besides, I know I'll find information about Petty tour dates on here, which is a lot easier than attempting to navigate his forum.

I had a panic attack during a William Topley show once. He just wouldn't shut the f*ck up and kept going on and on in that voice. Jeezus. The song that put me over the edge was The Ring.
Also, Rush. I just can't stand the sound of his voice. And my ex boyfriend was really into them. And I started to dislike them around the same time I was really starting to dislike him. Or maybe it was all the pot that I smoked with the people in front of me when I saw them on the Moving Pictures Tour. That was the last time I truly enjoyed a Rush show. I saw them in the late 80's and early 90's. One tour had something to do with a top hat and a rabbit. That was the most intriguing thing about that show. The last time I was so bored that I believe I drank myself into oblivion with the help of Dr. Rumplemintz. Different boyfriend by that time but I was starting to dislike him by then too. It occurs to me now that I might find great insight into my relationships by thinking about what shows I went to with them and hated. Or not.

When I did come back to the Mac it sounded better than before, probably because there was a little more nostalgia attached to it and childhood memories stuff like than. A lot of 70s Mac still reminds me of my early teenage years.
Which is another testimonial to my theory that Fleetwood Mac is 100% a "nostalgia act" these days, rather than an active creative entity.

Not completely since I loved Say You Will and Stevie's Trouble In Shangri-La from the start and there was no nostalgia attached to those.
Not directly, but maybe there's nostalgia attached because it's Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac. There's kind of instant nostalgia in those names alone, and there probably always will be. And sure the sound of those albums feels new (at least to me) and fresh, but there will always be that signature Mac sound running throughout reminding us of the Mac of old.

That was the first encore. I think that the record was just about to come out. I totally had the light blue levis, black leather jacket and brush cut he had in the video.

"Sometimes When We Touch" is another song that makes me run screaming. Gag.
Oh, good one!
I hate Wind Beneath My Wings. I just realized that.

Oh, that's right, there are a few.
There are more than a few, sister, but I digress... if you don't like the music, you're more than likely not going to spend any time analyzing it's merits. That's only natural .

Or how about that horrendous Patrick Swayze song "She's Like the Wind" from Dirty Dancing? Actually, most of the contemporary 80's music from that soundtrack blows.

Eeeeewwwww! Where's the gagging emoticon when I need it?
Keifer is gross. No wonder he hid behind all that hair in the 80's (probably still does).
Barbara Hershey's lips are on notice, as are Meg Ryan's. Btw, what's happened to Meg Ryan? Every recent photo I've seen of her looks really bad for some reason :distress:
I knew it was so wrong but I thought he was sexy. I saw them back in the day and they were so good. It's sad to hear they're not so good right now. Maybe he just had a bad day and so drank himself into oblivion for that show or something.

No, that one is okay. I see your point, though. And I thought of that one, too, when I thought of WBMW. I mean, it's cheesy, but I don't hate it with every fiber of my being.

I have spent some time, though, due to various boyfriends. And it's not like I haven't heard a bunch of it. But, yeah, unless you can tell me it's melodic, not screamy, and not angry, It won't have many merits to me. I've heard a couple metal songs I liked, but they were more melodic. So there you have it.

Don't apologize, we all have those! Just as long as you don't find Steven Tyler attractive we can still be friends . I'm sorry, but that guy is 100% skank!

Oh don't be dissin' Steven! But no I don't find him attractive. My roommate just saw him picking out a mattress at Jordan's furniture. He's a local boy and so many people have seen him. Including myself and, to be honest, in person from behind he looks like an old lady, it's the long jacket/hair thing. But he's cool in my book.

I liked all the metal **** when I was a kid. Now I could take it or leave it. It's nice to hear some of it for nostalgia.... I used to love KISS. Haha.. how funny is that? My big cousin turned me on to it. He was way cool to me back then.

There was this song in the 80's called Talking In Your Sleep by the Romantics. I can't stress how much I hate this song, I don't know why. Also, the fact that I know most ALL the lyrics drives me insane.

You like House of the Rising Sun too, huh? I was reminded of my intense distaste for it the other night on Rockstar.
That's so sad Paula. OMG, it's a classic.
The thing is, do you hate the Animals version of it, or the song as a whole? Apparently the song has been around since the early 1900's, and has been covered by like 100 different people. For whatever reason, The Animals are the only version generally known, but like I said, several people have made it a single or song on their album.
Hubby is into this Disco era band called Santa Esmerelda. They do this long ass version of it that RULES. LOTS of Flamenco guitar and even w/ that cheesy over-dub disco beat, it's an amazing rendition. Also at the last Courtney Love shows, she belted that song out, and OMG, gave me shivers. Frankly, to like it is to like it least by the Animals. Just wondered if that was your take, or if the song melody, lyrics just bug ya.

I remember them! They also did a hit cover in the same vein of "Please Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood."
There's so much ****ty music around that it clouds the really good stuff, like the Partridge Family.

I'd classify it as crap. Complete & utter crap.
I would now like to add "Lick It Up" *shudder* to songs I hate with every fiber of my being.
And Night Ranger was way too pop to ever be considered metal, Sparkman.

I've only heard the version by The Animals as far as I'm aware. But yeah, it's the song itself. :sorry:

Don't worry, he really, truly, honestly loves the Partridge Family.

I'd classify Night Ranger in that same nauseating ilk of bands such as:
Journey
Foreigner
The Outfield
.38 Special
Styx
Asia
Ambrosia
Kansas
etc.

Agreed. :D Of course, I liked all of them (except who the hell is Ambrosia). Hey, did The Outfield do Your Love or whatever that tune was? "Josie's on a vacation far away...." Love that friggin' tune. :D And of course Asia's Heat of the Moment. Hey, if I screech "Heat of the Moment" at your feet, would you do that one? Or is it like Free Bird?
