and she went Up/down, Up/down in the belly dept......whatsup with that? I cant imagine any SANE woman going thru this charade with Tom to perpetuate the myth he could father a child........Even Brad and Angie let the photogs in finally

I wonder what Nicole is thinking about all of this? and Toms other children?

This is like a soap opera! Maybe Katie had a pillow under her clothes and she was never really preggers to begin with? This is too weird!

Or their baby is deformed or strange-looking and they are ashamed. Which is my theory.

But, if the baby really exists, you would think that someone would have taken a pic (the nanny, the maid, the gardner) and it would have gotten out to the press by now.

On the other hand, I am thinking that Suri has to exist because many celebs have said that they have seen her. I think she must look somewhat "ugly" and they don't want the tabloids to print any pictures of her.

But, they're Scientologists. They're that kind of people.

I believe they're lying out their asses. This kid doesn't exist. Period.

Romy

Maybe not weak as a person at all. Just as a wife.

Otherwise she might have had a positive effect on her religously bigotted husband over the years.

I bet she is the man in the house. It would explain why he tries to be a big tough macho man in public. Bet she has him washing the presidential dishes..

LOS ANGELES, California (Reuters) -- One of the most elusive figures in Hollywood since the heyday of Howard Hughes may be about to make her debut.

The New York Post reported on Wednesday that Vanity Fair magazine has landed the first photos of Suri Cruise, the baby born to actor Tom Cruise and actress Katie Holmes last April 18 and who has never been seen by the public, although family friend Penelope Cruz says she is "beautiful."

The Post said the pictures were taken by celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz and will be published this fall.

A spokeswoman for Vanity Fair had no comment and a spokesman for Leibovitz's studio said, "We know nothing about this. The studio is closed for August." A spokesman for Cruise was not immediately available for comment.

Few recent celebrity subjects have produced as much table-thumping tabloid copy as questions about the existence and well-being of baby Suri.

Suri was born after months of nonstop publicity generated by Cruise and his new lady love including an appearance on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" by the actor in which he declared his love for Holmes by jumping over a couch.

Cruise proposed to Holmes at the Eiffel Tower last year and announced the engagement at a press conference. Before the baby was born, the press was filled with stories about the Scientology method of silent birth. Both Cruise and Holmes are adherents of Scientology.

But after the baby was born, Tom and Katie, or TomKat as they are referred to, disappeared from public view, leading to a tabloid outcry as to why the child was not being seen.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt allowed photographs of their daughter, Shiloh, to be taken a mere seven days after her birth and donated the multimillion-dollar fee to charity.

The weekly Star went so far as to publish a made-up composite photograph of Suri Cruise last month and Life&Style countered with a composite drawing, calling the child, "the most famous missing baby on the planet."

As the New York Times in July noted in a 1,900-word article on the issue, "The drawing appeared on a poster stamped with one word:, 'Wanted.' "

One serious debate in the magazine industry is just how much a photo of Suri Cruise could fetch. People Magazine was reported to have paid $4 million for photos of the Jolie-Pitt baby although the magazine's editor denied that was an accurate figure.

Even if PEOPLE paid Brad and Angelina 2 million or 15 million...at the best -they donated the money to charity...
A world charity for children...A very good cause, I would say. Now,
I don't think that will happen with "TomKat", or maybe it will---
it just won't be a publically disclosed charity ( wink-wink)...

OK now I have to go throw-up. I cannot believe that I contributed to the Cruise drama- yuvk!

Lord knows I loathe Tom Cruise as much as the next person, but I honestly think it's so weird that we all speculate on NO baby (I say "we" because I've been guilty of wondering about it too). Just because they whore themselves out doesn't mean they want the same for their baby. They definitely don't owe us a picture of the child. I just wish WE all didn't care so much. :o

Look. Tom made it a POINT to court the paparazzi, and to be highly visible and to include Katie in as many photo ops as possible. To suggest that NOW they want privacy is ridiculous. They dont OWE us anything but to change gears now and act all coy is completely out of character with the past 9 months of gestation/engagement etc. Give me a break! If he's so freaking in love and proud of his baby then why isnt he showing pics of same to the world?

Maybe he's trying to protect his baby? I feel squeamish defending him- I'm not really defending him, I'm just saying I could see where a celeb would draw the line with their child when it comes to privacy. I think it's completely ludicrous to sugest that they are hiding a secret- non baby, whatever. Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems like such a weird stretch.

What I am saying is its ODD to be so prominent throughout her entire pregnancy and now be so secretive. I find the whole thing weird, from her birth cert anomalies to this. In three months time, very few people have seen this baby or if they have they're NOT talking which is weird

Some stuff Ive read says Katie is starting to feel like a prisoner and she doesnt like the fact that Tom's actions are causing such rampant speculation. Her parents must be so worried about her... :distress:

I agree with you whole heartedly on the weird part. Tom Cruise makes me ill with his weirdness. Scientology touched my faily for a brief period so I know a little too much about that. Maybe Katie wants to show off the baby and Tom won't let her. Gah, I'm glad I'm not a celeb.

I don't understand why they didn't just donate the money- rather than drag their baby into it.

Because they were paid the money for the option of "PEOPLE releases the
1st baby pictures of Brad and Angelina's baby".
That is where the money came from, (PEOPLE paid them for the baby pictures) .They in turn donated the money that people paid them...

(they might have that kind of money that they could donate themselves)
...but
I think it was a smart way to ...get it over with-stop being haunted for photos-and giving the $ to a good cause

Especially since, if I'm not mistaken, Katie was raised a good Catholic girl - so her family must be FREAKING out. I mena Scientologist is a pretty big departure - and generally Catholic families (if they're practicing) don't take kindly to one of their own changes religions (to ANY religion).

I wonder if Katie herself thinks, "what have I done?" I mean was Cruise this outwardly bizarre before the whole thing? It seems as though once they became an item the kook factor was upped considerably - or maybe he was just getting more media attention

Either way - they're under no obligation to show us any baby...but the whole thing IS rather odd.

And I STILL hate that I have/am putting time and thought into this whole thing

GAH, I lost everything I wanted so say, so here goes:

Tom was never on my radar really until he freaked out on Oprah. I did feel badly for the split with Nicole because I like Nicole and I could see it upset her. But she's probably thanking her lucky Stars shes OUT! Plus I have a feeling that her rising star power gave her a bit more say-so in the relationship, something Katie doesnt have poor dear.....

Let me just reiterate, Tom and Katie dont OWE us pictures of the baby, but I find this NEW wish for privacy most hypocritical considering how much face time he and Katie got before. As I said, Tom HOGGED the celebrity news. He WANTED the attention. If he's so proud, why not show off his pride and joy? He could even benefit from it or donate fees to charity a la Brad and Angelina

I cant remember who said it but IMO, its TRUE, Tom's KOOK factor multiplied tenfold once he and Katie got together. There's something ROTTEN in Denmark (to borrow a phrase) for sure.

That was me :D heh...but yeah - I see what you're saying and I do agree that it's odd and even hypocritical that they were EVERYWHERE before and during the pregnancy - then the whole proposal thing - then BAM they drop out of the spotlight. Have either Tom or Katie even been seen alone out and about sans baby? I think Tom has - I've not seen nor heard hide nor hair of Katie....and I agree...something IS rotten in Denmark

This just in:

Tom and Katie to the Rescue!

By Sarah HallMon Aug 14, 2:54 PM ET

Tom Cruise doesn't just play a hero in the movies.

The actor, who has a history of coming to the aid of his fellow man, racked up some positive karma points over the weekend by taking the time to help the victims of a car crash on Los Angeles' 101 Freeway.

Cruise and fiancee Katie Holmes were reportedly headed home from the Los Angeles airport Saturday night after a quick trip to Salt Lake City for an exhibition soccer match featuring David Beckham when they happened upon a pair of motorists in distress.

The celebrity duo pulled over and checked to make sure that driver Jon Henningsen and his wife were not seriously injured, then stuck around until the police and fire department arrived, both Cruise's rep and a police spokesperson confirmed to E! News. (No word on whether Suri was also on the scene.)

To be sure, Cruise has had plenty of opportunities to hone his good Samaritan skills over the years.

In 1998, he rushed to the defense of a woman being mugged on a London street and stopped thieves from making off with more than $150,000 in jewelry. In 1996, he summoned an ambulance to help an aspiring actress who was the victim of a hit-and-run, then paid her $7,000 emergency room bill. That same year, while sailing a yacht in the Mediterranean, Cruise spotted French paper tycoon Jacques Lejeune, his family and several crew members bobbing in a life raft after their own boat caught fire. The actor pulled the group aboard and delivered them to shore. Also that same year, Cruise reportedly pulled two young boys to safety after they were almost crushed in a mob at the London premiere of Mission: Impossible.

All in a day's work for the world's most powerful famous person.

Meanwhile, with Suri's reported fall unveiling fast approaching, Cruise and Holmes seem to be relaxing their policy of keeping their offspring behind closed doors at all times.

According to the New York Daily News, the infant recently joined her parents at a birthday party for one of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith's children that was held at a Los Angeles roller rink.

"Suri is a beautiful baby," a witness told the newspaper. "She had no deformities that I could see!"

How very reassuring.
