I have 3 weeks before I start in on my first college class. I am just taking one class this semester. English Comp. Easy enough for me, I was very good in english when I was a kid. I don't know what the hell I'm doing though. The thought of writing papers and coming up with a thesis scares the **** right outta me. I have to go and pay for my class and pick up my books today.
Anyone got any words of comfort or wisdom?

Good luck and you'll do great!

Just take things as they come - don't worry about a future thesis or papers - just take it one day at a time...and you'll do just fine :o

You'll do fine. MOST(not all) college classes aren't THAT much harder than high school. Where are you going? IUPUI?

Ivy Tech. Probably go to IUPUI to get my bachelors. That's a long way off though.

Just relax & know that you're not alone. I was a "non-traditional" student too. Having life experience because you're not 18 will benefit you, believe me. :D

OMG... I think I'm gonna puke. :( I start tonight. I forgot a book (DUH!) and had to go buy it on lunch. It took me an hour and 20 minutes because of the lines! Lesson learned: don't forget to buy any books. I'm scared for Sara. She'll be with my grandma while I'm at school. Grandma is coming to my house to watch her, so at least she can still be at home and play with her friends... but still. I still think I'm gonna puke.

Just relax. You'll be fine. Ivy Tech (from what I've heard) ISN'T that stressful. I know several people that go to the Bton campus, and I've heard that it's kind of a laid back atmosphere.

You'll be fine, and so will Sara. Since you're going at night, trust me - many students will be "older" (by that I mean not straight out of high school) and in the same boat as you. You are not alone.

Glad to hear it. :xoxo: I can already tell my Statistics class is going to kick my ass. You know how I can tell? Because I have a tiny bit of homework, but I'm drinking a beer.
I wish I could take some English classes.
What books are you guys reading this semester?

Thank you! It wasen't as bad as I made it out to be. I always over-analyze everything, though....

She did real good. They played games, and watched scary movies.

Dude. Don't I know it. I had an A in literally every other class, including all of my nursing courses. During the final statistics exam, I knew what I needed to pass with a C. So I did what I could, never finished part 3 & walked out of the exam. Could. Not. Get. It. :distress:

I got the C & never looked back. For the record, I've never applied anything from that damned class to my job or life.
