I know this has happened to others recently. I did a restore, didn't work. The only thing that happened between yesterday and today is: this morning my internet was off, so i paid a big stupid bill today after I got my check to get it turned back on.
I know I have a lot of the files in my computer, but goddam! Mother Goddam! Also, I plugged in my shuffle, and nothing appeared.
I'm not sure if y'all have any thoughts/solutions, I've read everyone else's thread where this happened. But then again, I am a computer retard, relatively, so there could be something, some solution. Shyeah, right.
*sigh*.
I opened Belladonna just now from my files, and am wallowing in the sad sound that fits well, if the lyrics don't.
"Oooohhhh! Iiiituuuuunes! ooo! oooo! My souuuul!"
I hope all the rare **** that I dl'd from everyone all the time is in my files.
"And yes, it matters, to you, kind of itunes that'll haunt you, it matters, to you..."
"I didn't mean to lose it, I cried -
Oh but you shut it dah-hown, every night!
It got eraaased, when you were a lamo!
And yes, it matters, to you.
Kind of itunes that'll haunt you, it matters...(retard) Kind of itunes that'll haunt you..
Promised myself
a long time ago
Oh I would back you up, before you crashed!
Oh if not at least, because I knew I was a retard!
Close
I almost
Didit yesterday -
Kind of itunes that'll haunt you
(to be, a)
Retard
Kind of itunes that'll haunt you..."
:(
Well, well, on the upside, it gave rise to a song parody. And, it's almost the weekend, thus I have ample time to transfer all those songs from my files. I'd sure like to know what caused this before I do all that work, though.
"Step into, the velvet of the suckage
Let yourself throw things around your house
Heartbreak of the moment could've been avoided
Well, it is, just as bad, as it seems.
Oh, I know you'd like to be erased and baybe you can leave
My itunes is my life's blood
Anytime I think about erasage I want to. Killsomeone -
Think about it, befo-ore your itunes goes."
"The timeless face of a rock and roll Amber as her heart breaks..."
hmmm, this is fun. Taking my mind off it and all.
"So I had a little trouble with my itunes!
Now I'm trying to restore those files!
Stop erasing my
Stop erasing my
Stop erasing my itunes BITCH!
S'od to think about backing up your files
Isod to think about what you couldlose
This doesn't have to be the big. no. music
This didn't even have to happen at all!
itunes you could never do what I wa-anted!
yeah you buckle with the weight of my 'puter!
Stop 'rasing my
Stop 'rasing my
Stop 'rasing my God.Damned. Songs! (whoo-oo-hooo,oo oo oo!)"

can't help you with the itunes, but i can wallow in your pit of crap right beside you.
my myspace account is on the fritz. says it was deleted or cancelled. i might vomit if it really was. i didn't violate any of the terms of service. no notification. i'm going to be sick about this for a while...
so i'm back to the myspace-------------login page
back to the mess-age
that i hate
"your account may have been
de-le-ted
all of your codes 've been erased
all your codes
eraaaaaased"
and it all comes down to tom
well you know that it does...
this is just making it worse. sorry, amber. i'll be funnier later AFTER I GET MY ACCOUNT BACK.

My MySpace was cancelled/deleted today too. I was just on it yesterday and now today, gone.
I emailed them for an explanation. WTH!?
I saved all my codes, but if I have to rebuild...what a pain in the a$$.

Mine too
Now - I'm pretty sure it's yet ANOTHER stupid *(#$&*(# MySpace messup.
I'm getting SO frustrated with that damn site. Seriously - it's owned by damn NewsCorp, is worth millions upon millions of dollars and they still can't get the damn thing right! It's REALLY pissing me off.

Amber, if the tunes are still showing on your itunes library but itunes cannot find the file when you click on it then its a problem.. If itunes library is just blank then you might need to get it to search your pc for songs again. I'm sure you know how to do it but if not..
In itunes just click "file" then "add folder to library" and then select the drive your songs are on.. It should find them all again hopefully and put them back on your library list. :wavey:

Yeah, thanks for jacking my thread with your goddamned stupid ass myspace woes without even laughing at my parodies.
Where is allthesame when I need him???
And Deanna? At least the others actually mentioned me. You're headed for the ignore list.
F*ck all of you except Madformac, and XXXMX gets a partial reprieve because her parody was funny. The rest of you kiss my ass.
Madformac - I seem to have to select the songs in single folders, or single songs, to add them. That's why I was saying it looks like it's going to be time consuming, I can't add them all at once.

Well I could offer no help to your "pit of crap" as xxxmx...but I will acknowledge that it sucks. I'd pretty much have a heart attack if I opened iTunes only to find it empty.

Best bet is to uninstall itunes and download the latest version from the apple website. It won't delete your music files. this problem is a bit puzzling. Go into your itunes folder. Its usually in your My Music folder. You need to move the itunes library and itunes music library files to a safe destination, say My Documents. Then you have them backed up.
Then make sure those two files are not in the itunes folder after you have uninstalled the program.
Then when you reinstall the program itunes will ask you if you want it to search your computer for music, if you say yes it will scan everything and put it in itunes.
*** The only downside with this is when you plug your ipod in it will wipe it and update it with the new library list. If you don't want the hassle of waiting for your PC to put the updated library on your ipod (I've got 6000 songs on mine and it takes hours) leave the two library files in the itunes folder before you reinstall.
You got it? :)
Hang on, can you not just highlight My Computer when you select "Add folder to library" ?? that might do it

I just updated my itunes. But I see what you're saying about the rest, the problem is, I guess, that I have quite a bit of music saved in places other than my itunes folder. I also understand about moving them to a safe place if I update.
But do you think I really have to update itunes? There isn't a new one, so should I do it just because...uh...somehow my files got erased and it could be itunes fault? Even though the new one will be exactly the same version?
Thanks. :xoxo:

Isn't there an option to find all the files on your computer and add them to the library? I'm pretty sure I had that option once, but I can't remember how to do it.
I was looking for something like that, but didn't spend too much time. Let me know if you find something, and I'll also look this weekend.
So...did you laugh at any of my songs? :p

Sorry I can't help you, I don't even own an mp3 player & I rarely DL tunes. And your parodies are funny - it's been far too long since anyone's done parodies 'round here.
Happy now?

I'm pretty sure it adds the music that isn't in your iTunes folder too (the location of all the files stays the same). I remember doing that when I first installed in and finding all manner of crap I had saved on my computer over the years suddenly in iTunes.
I don't know whats going on here. Amber, what happens when you get the add "folder to library" window up? What do you get in the window? Can you print screen and send it/post it so I can see what you are seeing?

No, because I'm at work.
It opens a window with folders in it, but I can only choose one folder at a time, as far as I know.
Trackie - great, but how do you do it?

Well all I can think is that in that window you might be able to scroll up or down and find your C drive listed. By the side of the single folders listed. By the top one in the window. Is there a minus in a square box by it? It should be by the left of the folder icon in the window. If you have one and press it it should take you back to a bigger folder or your whole drive.
If you have no + or - in a box by the folder icons then you have a problem with itunes, probably in your registry. Try it and have a look when you get home. If not we'll look for another solution. :) :wavey:

So, thanks Madformac. I opened my "My Music" folder, which contains "itunes" and "itunes music" and there is a choice on the left of the folder "play all". I thought...what the heck? Anyway, I "played all", and then went through both folders and "played all" with those, just in case, and got everything back on my itunes, or almost everything.
It said something like "playing all of these at once may cause your computer to be slower. Do you want to continue?" and I did. It was pretty darn fast.
Sweeeet. Oh, I updated itunes first. So, in other words, instead of getting everything back through an itunes command, I used one in my folder.
Thank goodness.
In the process, I also discovered I had "Warrior" by Scandal. Bang, bang!
