Signs are Seasons

Leo occupies the middle of the summer in the northern hemisphere, the hottest time of the year for half the planet. It's appropriate, then, that the sign Leo is associated with our source of heat, the Sun. This central star of our solar system is the hub around which all of the planets orbit. This position of centrality is basic to the Leo personality.

Leo represents awareness of self and is, arguably, the most self-centered sign of the zodiac. Taken negatively, this means that Leo can be blinded by the light of its own ego. Like a shining star, its brilliance can make it difficult to recognize the importance of others. Learning to share the spotlight is a core issue for many Leos.

The Ruler

The Sun in astrology is said to "rule" the sign Leo. That means that there is a natural affinity between this "planet" and sign. Being born with a planet in its "home" sign is considered to be an advantage by astrologers.

The energy of the Sun is thought to flow most easily in Leo. However, a planet in its home sign can also be overly simplistic and narrow in its expression. A lack of obstacles in not always a strength.

Leos, then, can benefit from humbling experiences. It's important that they learn how to fail, so that they can reconnect to the sources of their creativity and confidence and begin again.

The Child

Leo is the fifth sign of the zodiac. It represents that point in the cycle when a child becomes aware of his or her personal power. The discovery of self is a wonderful thing, a fascinating experience in which the rest of the world is seen as a toy with which to play. From a healthy perspective, this offers a sense of confidence that encourages creativity and risktaking throughout life. However, a potential pitfall is for Leo to operate under the illusion that he or she is creating the world in which all of us live, rather than just being a part of it.

Growing up can be a challenge for everyone, but is particularly true for Leos. Moving from the excitement of possibilities to the real commitments necessary for accomplishment can be the measure of Leo's potential for success. Learning to listen, too, can be vital for Leo to fulfill its considerable ambitions.

Stars vs. Constellations

It is natural for Leo to see him or herself as a star. Those born under this sign do best when their self-confidence is high. Yet, even though it is the hub of our solar system, the Sun is but one star among the uncountable billions in the sky. What appears to be the source of life from one perspective is just another point in a distant constellation from another. Leos who understand that everyone is a star are best able to build the co-operative relationships that can make life so satisfying.

Famous Leos

Leos tend to do well in the spotlight, so show business is full of them. Half the cast of Friends are Leos (Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and Matthew Perry). So are Jennifer Lopez, Whitney Houston, Kathie Lee Gifford, Woody Harrelson, Sandra Bullock, Kevin Spacey, Laurence Fishburne, Robert De Niro, Edward Norton, Mick Jagger, Christian Slater, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Wesley Snipes, Billy Bob Thornton, Halle Berry and Steve Martin.

Leo pairs in the world of entertainment include Madonna and Sean Penn, Melanie Griffth and Antonio Banderas, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson and Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman (as reporters Woodward and Bernstein). Other Leo pairs are Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky and that perfect Leo couple: Jerry Garcia and Martha Stewart.

Sports stars Magic Johnson, Deion Sanders, Barry Bonds, Walter Payton and Patrick Ewing were all born with the Sun in Leo, too. Showmanship and heart helped make these athletes great.

It surprises me how many people here take astrology seriously. It's not a bad thing, it's just weird because I really don't think I know anyone in real life who does.

July 22 until August 22

Signs are Seasons

Kitty occupies the middle floor in a sun beam in the summer in the northern hemisphere, the hottest time of the year for half the planet. It's appropriate, then, that the sign Kitty is associated with our source of heat, the Sun, and naps. This central star of our solar system is the hub around which all of the planets orbit. This position of centrality is basic to the Kitty personality. Although the moon also plays and important part in the sign of Kitty.

Kitty represents awareness of self and is, arguably, the most self-centered sign of the zodiac. Taken negatively, this means that Kitty can be blinded by the light of its own ego. Like a shining star, its brilliance can make it difficult to recognize the importance of others. Learning to share the spotlight is a core issue for many Kitties.

The Ruler

The Sun in astrology is said to "rule" the sign Kitty. That means that there is a natural affinity between this "planet" and sign. Being born with a planet in its "home" sign is considered to be an advantage by astrologers. This is a false fact as nothing and no one "rules" a kitty unless they want them too.

The energy of the Sun is thought to flow most easily in kitties taking naps in sunbeams. However, this energy is saved for the nighttime or when kitties wish to just "run" out of a room for no reason. Also used in chasing moths.

Kitties, then, can benefit from humbling experiences. It's important that they learn how to fail, so that they can reconnect to the sources of their creativity and confidence and begin again. In other words, until kitties can use a can opener for tuna, they still will need humans.

The Kitty

Kitty is the fifth sign of the zodiac. It represents that point in the cycle when a kitten becomes aware of his or her personal power. The discovery of self is a wonderful thing, a fascinating experience in which the rest of the world is seen as a toy with which to play. Much like a feather on a string. From a healthy perspective, this offers a sense of confidence that encourages creativity and risktaking throughout life. However, a potential pitfall is for kittens to operate under the illusion that he or she is creating the world in which all of us live, rather than just being a part of it.

Growing up can be a challenge for everyone, but is particularly true for Kittens. Moving from the excitement of possibilities to the real commitments necessary for accomplishment can be the measure of kitten's potential for success. Learning to listen, too, can be vital for kittens to fulfill its considerable ambitions. Especially when the sound of an electric can opener is heard.

Stars vs. Constellations

It is natural for Kitties to see him or herself as a star. Those born under this sign do best when their self-confidence is high. Yet, even though it is the hub of our solar system, the Sun is but one star among the uncountable billions in the sky. What appears to be the source of life from one perspective is just another point in a distant constellation from another. Kitties who understand that everyone is a star are best able to build the co-operative relationships that can make life so satisfying. Such as tummy scratches.

Famous Kitties

Kitties tend to do well in the spotlight, so show business is full of them.Morris the cat, Garfield, Fluffy (Brady Bunch) are just someof the Kitties in show business. The broadway show "Cats" is derived from kitties.

From someone who came from Ohio:

ALL objects attract each other with a force of gravitational attraction. This force of gravitational attraction is directly dependent upon the masses of both objects and inversely proportional to the square of the distance which separates their centers. Newton's conclusion about the magnitude of gravitational forces is summarized symbolically as

F(grav) = M1*M2/D**2

Since the gravitational force is directly proportional to the mass of both interacting objects, more massive objects will attract each other with a greater gravitational force. So as the mass of either object increases, the force of gravitational attraction between them also increases. If the mass of one of the objects is doubled, then the force of gravity between them is doubled; if the mass of one of the objects is tripled, then the force of gravity between them is tripled; if the mass of both of the objects is doubled, then the force of gravity between them is quadrupled; and so on.

Since gravitational force is inversely proportional to the separation distance between the two interacting objects, more separation distance will result in weaker gravitational forces. So as two objects are separated from each other, the force of gravitational attraction between them also decreases. If the separation distance between two objects is doubled (increased by a factor of 2), then the force of gravitational attraction is decreased by a factor of 4 (2 raised to the second power). If the separation distance between any two objects is tripled (increased by a factor of 3), then the force of gravitational attraction is decreased by a factor of 9 (3 raised to the second power).

In other words THE DOCTOR WHO DELIVERED YOU, HAD MORE INFLUENCE OVER YOU DUE TO THE CLOSENESS OF HIS MASS THAN JUPITER OR ANY OTHER PLANET.

Add to this the shift of the "constellations" through the centuries, Your "sign" has shifted several degrees from where it suppose to be. A "Leo" is not really a Leo.

Horoscopes are good for entertainment only. There is NO value beyond that.

So there! Snooty face! :D :xoxo: :wavey:

Besides, it is bad luck to be superstitious.

You still won't know how it's been addressed unless you study it.
I didn't start this thread to argue with someone about astrology. And the information you have could be limited, just like mine could be. And I don't want to argue, because I think it does make sense, and I've read about the math of it, too. Of course the conclusion was different than the one you posted. If you don't want to read about Sun in Leo, but rather want to argue with me about something I didn't even post - a proposition about the validity of astrology - go ahead and start a "validity of astrology" thread, and perhaps someone will argue with you about it in there. It won't be me.
But thanks for stopping by. :)

I believe in astrology about as much as I believe in anything else, which is either a lot or not at all, depending on whether it suits me or not. I didn't get where I am today by saying that something is a load of rubbish without really knowing anything about it :woohoo:

I'm an Aquarius, sun and moon - I generally don't like anyone except other Aquarians, and all the good things people say about Aquarians are absolutely true. The bad things are probably true as well, it's just that I won't admit it. In fairness, I have no argument about what astrology usually says about me, it seems as accurate as anything else, and more accurate than a lot of other stuff that purports to be "scientific".

I don't really take astrology seriously. as a matter of fact, I probably couldn't name all the signs in the zodiac if I had a gun to my head. But I do find it interesting, and some things do seem to be at the very least-very coincidental

amber-I had always heard leos and gemins are not a good match. Well....I'm married to a taurus right now, so anything has to be better than that!! ha ha..no....he's actually a really good guy and NOT a typical taurus :)

Taurus and gemini is not supposed to be good. My best gemini friend is, as we speak, divorcing her Taurus husband... But, you know, it all depends, doesn't it?

There are some interesting coincidences, but I think a lot of the time (mostly with those newspaper horoscopes), people want to see themselves in the descriptions they read, and the descriptions are written vaguely enough as to allow people to read into them what they want. and I know there's more to astrology than newspaper horoscopes, so I'm not trying to make huge generalizations here.

I think we can attribute the leo/gemini break up to just plain stupidity and being too young to settle down. It was my fault, and I regret it now-so I don't think it was necessarily a bad personality/astrology match. Plus....he lived a million miles away. Kind of reading? I recommend you read astrology books.

But aside from me being an a**hole, The Only Astrology Book You'll Ever Need is a good one. The main flaw of it is that you can't hardly figure out your rising sign with it. But, if you go to stariq.com, or some other random astrology places (astrology.com) and give them your time and place of birth, they can spit out your rising sign.
Other than that, it's cool, easy to understand for a layman, more complex concepts explained in simple ways for the non layman.
