Saw her live this past Monday. That girl can sing! She sounded incredible. Her show is primarily her pop/rock songs from her second disc (I think she only did 1 tune from her first CD, and I'm happy to announce she did NOT sing that dreadful "A Moment Like This.") She did 3 new tunes too, from her unreleased CD. She's getting a lot more comfortable on stage too.

We only paid $27, so it was well worth it. Of course, the crowd is primarily 10 year old girls & their parents, but whatev. That just meant we were the coolest ones there. :D So if you like her tunes & have a chance to see her, just do it.

She seems to be one person, besides maybe Carrie Underwood, whose career really is taking off that were on AI.

Kelly's concerts are great.. she puts on an awesome show.. i've been telling people this since last year when i saw her in NYC.. glad to see someone finally agrees with me.. ;) it's true, though.. her crowds are mostly comprised of 10 year old girls... though i think in time that will change, as her music changes and she matures as an artist..

.. i might see her at Jones Beach tomorrow night, depending on whether or not i can get a ticket.. glad to hear you had a good time..

Well, truth be told- I crank her music in the car but turn it down at stoplights. LOL She's got a great sound, seriously.

Btw, I'm originally from Long Island too. :wavey:

I LOVE "Since You've Been Gone"

In fact, for Memorial Day, I stood on the bow of my friend's boat, which has a killer stereo, and BELTED that as we were careening across the lake!!!!!!!!

I was dancing to it as well

Needless to say, alcohol was involved!

AND - you have to do big pointing hand gestures and perhaps a slight wave during the chorus - I, of course, add a high kick in for good measure

I saw Kelly last September, and boy that girl kicks some serious ass in concert. I was singing along the entire time, and when she sang Annie Lennox's "Why" - oh, I lost it. I would gladly put down the money to see her again, 'cause it was so worth it.

I LOVE "Since You've Been Gone"
I think the actual title is "Since U Been Gone". It's weird because to me, that song sounds like she's trying too hard to sound like Avril Lavigne (whom I also like). But I like the song anyway.

^ Didn't Avril write it? Wait, maybe not. I know Aguilara wrote "Miss Independent" which was, IMO, the first hint that Kelly would be more rock than poptart. That song rocks.

Surprisingly well, she was careful to stay as true to the original form as possible. I have an mp3 of her doing it in Orlando if you're interested. :)

Kelly Clarkson Headlines Her Own HBO Concert
posted: 7.13.06

Two-time Grammy winner Kelly Clarkson will headline her first HBO concert event next February, it was announced Wednesday by Chris Albrecht, chairman and CEO of HBO.

To be presented from London’s historic Wembley Arena February 3, the special will feature the singer performing her greatest hits, as well as material from herthird album, which will be released that same month.

“Kelly Clarkson is an electrifying performer who has taken the world of pop music by storm,” noted Albrecht. “I’m delighted to welcome this exciting star to HBO for what promises to be an unforgettable concert event.”

Texas native Kelly’s second RCA Records album, “Breakaway,”has sold more than ten million copies worldwide while producing five hit singles - “Breakaway,” “Since U Been Gone,” “Behind These Hazel Eyes,” “Because of You” and “Walk Away” - and bringing her two Grammy Awards.

Logging more than a year in Billboard magazine’s Top 20, the “Breakaway” album has enjoyed multi-platinum sales around the globe, as well as winning American Music Awards, MTV Video Music Awards and Billboard Music Awards. Her 24-city “Addicted” concert tour began June 30 and is currently playing to sold-out houses around the country.

Kelly is the only artist out there today who has touched me with her voice, her writing, and her personality. She's the real deal and has stayed so amazingly genuine and humble.

I never thought I'd find someone who would give me goosebumps and make me have all of those magical feelings, like Stevie does, but alas, Kelly achieved it. lol

She's just getting better and better, and I wish this young woman nothing but the best. She deserves it all.

Oh, I just love Kelly. She is by far the best of the Idols. And she can really sing. I play her Breakaway CD all the time. She seems so down to earth. She doesn't seem affected at all by the fame.

I agree - I really don't see this girl being a flash in the pan. She's very talented. Welcome to the board, btw! :wavey:
