it rained here today, so it's a little bit hard for me to realize it's already july.
damn i hate the summer. the greatest consolation is that it's the bestest vecation time. is there anybody who's going somewhere interesting this summer?
i'm going to the southern islands in thailand next month. my tickets arrived, and i put them on this desk, next to the screen, with my passport. every time i stare at them i start smiling.

Really? You hate summer? I was just thinking today that I only have 2 1/2 months left of warmth. I hate winter.

Have fun on your trip. Sounds like a great time. We went to Disney this year.

I hope you enjoy your trip! I will be staying here in town this year, no traveling for me, especially since gas just went to 3.05 today here.:distress:

thanx. honestly i donnow what the weather is like in indiana, but for us blondes of the middle east, summer can get somewhat unpleasant.

thanx. gotta tell you something tho, i think that "somewhere interesting" should be associated with a plane ticket, and not with a car.

Oh, there are plenty of interesting things to see from a car. On Tuesday my mom and I are driving from Ohio to Phoenix, AZ, which is about 2,000 miles. I'm sure somewhere in there we'll come across something interesting, even if we're not traveling by plane.

dear lord, that's like what, 40 hours of straight driving? i get claustrophobic just thinking about it. my mom's very cool, but i suspect that after 40 hours of being stuck with her (and no weed) in a car, i may wanna end either her life or my own's. i do hope that you'll cross dozens of interesting somethings... otherwise...i donnow... let's just say that i don't really envy you.
i think that the whole point of travelling is witnessing not only different sceneries, but also different people, other cultures and languages, forign food, religions, attitudes and environment. that's why i feel that unless i left the country i've done close to nothing (at least in my perspective).
That's a good point. I've been lucky enough to travel by plane to Europe 2 times, also Hong Kong and Austraila.
that's excellent. you know, i'd like to go to australia sometime, but it's one hell of a pricey flight, so it'll have to wait till i can afford some 1700$ flights. europe is the best, and it's the easiest and cheapest way to go from here, but again, the euro is so damn expensive, that a 3 week stay's going to leave me bankrupt for ages. hong kong is a reasonably priced option, but there's nothing to do there after the 3rd day (other than shopping of course), so if wer'e talking about a short stay, i'd usually go to europe.

I think it's more than 60 hours, actually. It should be interesting ... it's either going to be great fun or a murder/suicide. We'll see! If I'm not posting again by the 20th you'll know I'm dead.

to me travelling is just going to other places,i rarely get any great shakes for just being there,i don´t understand people who are like "look it´s a building"
i don´t plan doing anything special while there, sitting in a park for a day is a day well spent just as it is looking at sights.
after all this you might think i don´t enjoy travelling, but i do,i just don´t know how to put it in words, when i´m home,i enjoy the day even if i don´t do anything worth telling other people about it.
why should it be any different when i´m somewhere else.
this year i had planned to go to australia, but ended up going to mexico,
next month when my vacation starts,i´m going to vienna, austria

60 hours? god! you know, yesterday my mom suggested to take me to Turkey for a weekend, so we could get some quality time, one on one. obviously i had to decline; "i've been there twice already, go with dad, i also don't want you to pay for me". i couldn't tell her that if i'll need to spend 3 days with her one on one, i'd rather do it at home, where it's easier to find a rope.

It tops out here around 96 deg. in August, with about 90-95% humidity. It can get stupid. But it's only from late May to early September that it's really warm, so we enjoy it while we can. I'm not complaining about the heat. I'm sure it's a hell of a lot hotter over there then it is here. How long does your summer last, Tommer?

i can't give you the numbers in fahrenheit, but summer is roughly from june thru october. july, aug. and sept. are the worst; you better be somewhere that's air conditioned between 09:00 to 21:00, and if you're me, you can't stay outside without being sunburnt after 10 minutes.

I'm going camping. Again. To the same place we go every year. :D

Damn, Tommer, you make me feel bored with my life.

Other than that, no clue. I'm trying to plan a fall vaca, not sure where. And still attempting to figure out if a trip to Bulgaria next summer is do-able. Man, have airfares gone up in the last 8 years.

The whole thing including the flights from the U.S and aal inter Australia flights hotel and everything cost me $3000 U.S dollars. We spent 3 nights in Melbourne, 3 in Sydney, 3 in Alice Springs/Ayers Rock, and 3 in Cairns. Hong Kong only cost me $1,500 U.S too. that was in Nov of 2002 and I was there for a week.

Nothing can top a long long drive through the states in an airconditioned car in my opinion.

I go to Terschelling again for two weeks. The best place in europe when it's hot. And it's hot.

have a great trip Tommer!

hey gerald, you know what can top such a drive? taking the cheapest flight, one which takes you via two arab countries with an israeli passport to get to the far east.
btw, by "it's hot", you refer to 23 degrees, right?

Sounds like Austin .
if so, then my condolences are in order

No it's been 32 all week over here. In our country that feels like 110 in the fridge. today and tomorrow it's a little cooler. You could have noticed in the world cup: alot of games suffered by the heat. and we had the same weather over here.
