so I saw this last night and I really wasn't all that impressed. Brandon Routh was vvvvvery nice to look at. all the actors were really great, especially Parker Posey and Kevin Spacey. but there was something really lacking...maybe a really involving plot. I don't know what it was, but it was a little bit of a let down for me. I still say go see it. the fx were awesome, Routh is hot and it was a good movie...just missing something.

and I thought it was great.
The story could be just a tad better, But overall I thought it was one of the better movies based off of a comic book character.

I saw this last night........it was THREE HOURS LONG. Hey i mean i have seen movies like Titanic where I am entertained for three hours but this was just unfair. There are so many shots of him just flying around. I mean it was an OK movie. Parker Posey was great. Kate Bosworth was ok, but I saw her on late night and she bitches about everything. We went in there at 9:35 PM and came out at 12:17 AM. I mean it was just way too long. Definitely dragged a lot.

I was entertained, but a bit disappointed. I found this Superman to be a lot less attractive and endearing than Christopher Reeve's. There was something very plastic-y and "too perfect" about him (done deliberately? maybe). He didn't convey the inner vulnerability that makes Superman human, even though he's almost invulnerable physically. In fact, I actually found Lois Lane's fiance more attractive than Superman.
There were some plot problems that made me cringe, like Lois taking her young son with her to where she expected criminals were hiding, even though she was dressed in formal wear about to go to an awards dinner. "First we question the bad guys, honey, then we go to the Pulitizer place." PUH-LEEZE.
I do agree that Kevin Spacey did a terrific job as Lex. Showing Superman stop a bullet with his eye was pretty cool too. I was like "DANG!" lol The love triangle was unexpectedly complicated - his rival was actually a NICE GUY! It's also great that they were able to use the original Williams score.
So I say it's worth a watch, even if it's not stellar.

Is it a romantic movie?? Superman II was, among the action scenes, of course. It was my fave. (of ocurse III and IV were so bad I never saw them completely). But this movie, is it romantic?

I saw and liked it, esp. Parker Posey!!!!!!
Also, kudos to Eva Marie Saint in her portrayal as his mother.

Superman II was a work of genius. This new movie was entertaining, but it wasn't lasting. After it was over, I found myself trying to remember the "high" points of the movie. This new Routh guy was good, but not as classic & iconic looking as Christopher Reeve. Kevin Spacey disappointed me as Lex too. It was if his big plan wasnt thought out quite well and he just stood back and watched his henchmen do all the work.
