Beethoven Academie Auctioned on eBay

[David]

A Belgian chamber orchestra, the Beethoven Academie, recently lost its 2007 government funding, so it is selling itself to the highest bidder on eBay!

There are 83 bids so far. The Beethoven Academie specializes in late-classical & early-romantic music. It is "Eroica" sized: that is, 35 instrumentalists, based on the size of the orchestra for which Beethoven wrote his Symphony No. 3 in E-flat major (Opus 55), which altered the course of Western music from that time forward.

This orchestra would be ideal for us ledgies: dream performances at our command!

I think it's really sad that the arts are losing funding so rapidly.

D'you think if I bought them they'd play Mendelssohn's 5th for me? Or would that be sacrilege? David, let's buy them and then arrange our favorite FM/Stevie songs for orchestra. :D
