I'm watching the parade on TV. One of the floats just went by, and they're blasting the Dreams remix.
If you think about it, I would be suprised if she wasn't there.

Any of our SF boys go? RickyPT, Bombay?

Watching it on TV? Why aren't you there?! Haha... just kidding. I probably won't go to the big parade today, I'm still hung over from yesterday. I went to the "Dykes on Bikes" parade last night. Good times! :blob2:

I love the parade! I skated in it once. In a tutu.
I miss the City!

Heh. It was over about 1/2 hour after I woke up.

I like that skating in a tutu thing, though.

Damn, it must be Stevie day. They just compared K.T. Tunstall to her, Ricki Lee, and...someone else.

It was a joy to skate down Market st., following the Stud wagon.
I am on the right, the Madonna lookalike is on the left.

Speaking of K.T. Tunstall.. that girl is freaking talented.. anyone seen her perform live.. she doesn't even use a band.. she plays the thing by herself.. she used her feet hands voice.. its amazing!

Oh yes, Ms. Tunstall is amazing - her album is truely great, every track could be a single....

That is fricking awesome! Why were you skating? (I mean, which group or whatever were you with/representing)?

About K.T. - Yes, i said that a week or so ago here in another thread, when I first saw her performing live on T.V. I thought it was amazing as well. However, her songs are pretty good, better than most, but not earth shattering. I would probably go see her, though. Oh, wait, she was at KFog kaboom in the city a bit back, it was free, and I didn't go. Still...

I don't like big crowds, either. Also, one time i went to halloween in the city - and it wasn't as fun as I thought it would be. No bathrooms, really hard to get a beer, walking up and down steep hills all night, freezing cold....
This parade looks like more fun, though - at least it is stationary (no traversing the hills) and in warmer weather. I'll make it sometime.

That car behind us was the Hamburger Mary's/Cissy's Saloon car, and there were three of us on skates, two in drag, and me. It was way back in '88, or '87.

So, you worked there? Skating in parades. Is there anything better?

I worked there, it was a wild time!
Skating is like flying - the best!
That parade - I don't think I was ever more in love with my City than at that time.

Bombay, I find that I can't really handle large, packed crowds like that anymore either.

went to the dutch 'pink saturday' (or Roze Zaterdag, as it's known here), but I completely missed the parade (which isn't much here, really) (though the participation of gay police officers did make the news) because I was at a debate about taboos in lesbo-land.. quite funny, that. Glad no one pushed a mike under my nose though.
Which did happen at the vibrator-theatre show I went too:eek: :D

I may have to marry you if for no other reason and despite your fabulousness, than to get legal possession of that lovely pill box hat you are sporting here.

Oooh thank you!
I wish I still had the hat. All of the fabulousness was due to the beautiful, the outrageous, visionary, and gloriously bitchy leather queen, Dale Rideout (behind me on the car,you can just see the zebra print on his jacket) who stayed up late with glue gun and yards of tulle.
He is no longer with us, in fact, neither are the other two skaters, but he will never be forgotten.

The only costume items I owned here were the belt, which I still have, and the professional weight fishnets.

No, I was jetlagged and I don't like the crowds either. Cool that they played the Dreams remix, though!

Ouch - sorry to hear about your friends!!!! I have lost some as well and it just is awful. But, believe me when I tell ya, a few of mine were WAY to clever and bitchy to go quietly and I have a sneaky suspicion they are around in spirit and playing pranks on me all of the time

Also - please never underestimate the power of an industrial weight fishnet!

I went to the parade in Chicago on Sunday and I had quite a few FM/Stevie moments. The parade started with a marching band playing Tusk. Then, a float went by playing the Dreams remix.

Later that night at Roscoe's the Stand back video was playing when I walked through the door. About an hour later Bootylicious was played with the Stevie cameo and "Edge" rift.

To finish the night I was able to dance to the Planets remix at Charlie's. That song still packs the floor after four years.

I had a great time and had my FM/Stevie Fix for the day.

Dayam!!! I'm suprised Stevie herself didn't show up, with that huge load of Stevieness! That is a lot in one day.

 If Dale is around, he is wondering why I don't wear those fishnets anymore.
Those fishnets could tow a car. But we didn't do that in the parade.

I know. I half expected to see her come twirling around the corner. In my drunken state later that night I may have seen that "crystal vision".

My drunken fantasy was Stand Back twirling like a midwest tornado. But, I did visualize her baton twirling and high step marching durning the earlier marching band Tusk performance.

Any twirling is Stevielicious!!
