After much backing and forthing after seeing them recently on VH1 (or some channel) playing live, we decided at the last minute to go see Heart perform at the Del Mar Fairgrounds last night. We did not regret it either! They were awesome!! The tickets were $10, $40, and $80 when we bought them at the on-site ticket booth. (Prices were down from the $20, $50, $90 and $150 dinner seats listed on Ticketmaster that morning!) We went with the $40 seats and ended up with a great view of the show. There were about 12 rows of floor seats, followed be the dinner seating, then we were behind that, dead center. I'd have been pissed if I had bought floor seats, as the stage was the highest I had ever seen- at least 7 feet.
Ann's voice was perfect, and Nancy totally rocked out with her guitar, complete with those cute little 80's poses she does! (I loved that! :D ) Everyone sang happy Birthday to Ann, which was cool. Ann sings effortlesly, and it just amazed me. The music was perfect - sounded just like the records. The smell of beer in the night concert air reminded me of those Stevie/FM concerts I'm missing so much...sigh...
They played a couple new songs and 2 Led Zepplin songs, along with their own hits of course. They only played for 1 1/2 hours though, and it went by quickly. I remember they opened with Magic Man- awesome !
Go see them if they come to your area! I highly recommend it! :woohoo:
