I was watching the Mirage concert last night and was surprised to see Lindsey smoke during Not That Funny (and John comes over to get some secondhand smoke). I couldn't even imagine trying to perform a concert after smoking up. Pretty impressive.

obviously he smokes, to come up with such amazing music it's almost impossible not to :nod: . It's just that I never really took him for a pothead because his voice has always been so damned good and if you look at most singers who smoke, their voices tend to deteriorate over time. Getting trashed before performing was and is a given, but being able to do it high, to me, is totally awesome cuz if it were myself I'd probably fall asleep at the wheel or absent mindedly be trying to find some junk food to gobble down.

He was doing cocaine at the US Festival........right before Eyes of the World.

The first time I watched it I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
Both Not That Funny live, AND the fact that he was smoking. *shudder* :D

i think lindsey smokes pot almost as well as he plays guitar.

Oh yes, the pot scene!

Someone brilliantly had a wonderful montage of Lindsey smoking pot at the Mirage concert and then eating chips from the Tusk doc. That still makes me giggle.

COKE at the US festival? really?? Hmm.

'kay, and like... um, I've never heard that the sacred herb does anything to your voice... cuz like listen to Toots Hibberts, or Shabba Ranks, or like Burning Spear. I mean, like those dudes sound fine... Hi. Wow, wow taste the colors! Ganga make you feel like you walkin' on the moon, seen, but like, you can still play and sing... Wow... do you feel like toast and jam?

'ahem' and I expect it would be the same situation with hash, but you might not want to try and pilot a jumbo jet or anything like that, but your concentration in some ways, your focus, might actually be better under the influence in some areas. I'm sure it's even more true of heroin what with all the musicians from Dizzy Gillesie on up who have been hooked on that crap, so if you want an excuse to do some stuff you can find it, but the creativity part I am somewhat suspicious of. Music itself is still the best drug for my money.

A bong hit and a Red Bull...then having a 16 oz glass of OJ (on the rocks) in the cup holder attached to the mic stand for when the "cotton mouth" strikes. The next set just doesn't get much better than that. :D

:laugh: I know what you mean. I can't do anything stoned, I mean seriously, I can't finish sentences because I forget what I'm saying mid-sentence. Pot just strikes me dumb, not that there's anything wrong with that :shrug: :laugh:.
