My friend, who is officially ceertifiable as a Styx fan, and I are going to see them up in Fargo on Friday night. They're playing a local ribfest, and admission is only $5! I know some of these acts that constantly tour can get old, but ever since I saw them for the first time 3 years ago, they really do enjoy being out on the road, and that translates into a fun time. I know they're supposedly done like over 100 shows a year for like 5 or 6 years in a row. Even CHer cant top that.

I just felt reeeeeeeeeeeeeallly old. Styx was the hottest sh*t when I came of age musically. I can still remember roller skating to Best of Times and Babe.

And now they are playing a ribfest.

Oh well, have fun, Davidmn! I'm totally into nostalgia and sounds like a good time. I kind of don't get into the bands that have replaced their singers, like Journey and Styx, though.

I think it'll be pretty good. I dont usually go to casinos or things like this for bands casue that sounds like they're pretty washed up, but we'el see.

I've seen Styx with Dennis DeYoung once and without them about five or six times. They are my mom's favorite band, so I'll always go with her. I've enjoyed it, they're a fun band live and some of the other acts I've seen play with them have been just so entertaining and hilarious, not in the good way- from Eddie Money & Billy Squier to Bad Company & REO.

All of the shows without DeYoung have been a million times better than the one with. He's such an arrogant cock. His songs are the ones I like least- Lady, Babe, etc. Tommy Shaw & JY are immensely entertaining, and Lawrence Gowan plays and sings Dennis's parts very well.

My mom has such a crush on Tommy Shaw, it's so cute to watch her squeal and get all excited. One of the times we saw them was at a casino in Kansas City, and my mom practically threw her bra at him when he did an acoustic version of "Livin La Vida Loca." It was hilarious.

I have to sing this every time I see The Money mentioned.

"She was shakIN'! (WhoaohohOH!) Snappin' her fingers! (WhoaohohOH!) She was mooovin' up and down and round and round, she was SHAkin'!
*whispers* I got a little nervous, when she took her coat off...*"
