So I was at the Saloon, one of the local gay establishments here in Minneapolis, and I went out to the back patio and plopped myself down on a seat with a most refreshing Malibu Pineapple. Then I noticed these 2 annoying skinny twinks next to me talking about how theyre sick and tired of all the trolls that come there. I didnt say anything, but I was very annoyed. Afterall, those punks wont be twinks forever. I wanted to ask them what exactly is their definition of a troll. Probably anyone over 24.

Lose weight, be hot, then bitchslap them. (that is my basic answer to a lot of things).

I had some troubles with some Lezzies at the awesome gay bar right by my house, too. It was different, but it still hurt.
Besides, you have a bf, so nyah nyah nyah.
Besides, i don't really know what "troll" means. By your post I just assumed that something about you is what they are referring to?

David...explain twink (as you so lovingly referred to me as one in lifetimes past) vs. troll.

I don't have the energy. lol.

I kind of know what twink is, just not troll.

Ok a "Twink" is generally defined as a young gay man usually under 25 or so, who's quite thin and wears tight shirts and pants. A "Troll" is usually an older gay man, over 40 and the term Troll is quite duragatory. Someone who looks at an older gay man as a troll would see them as out of shape(THE ULTIMATE GAY SIN:lol: ) and generally not well appearing.

I always thought a troll was an older, pervy guy who makes unwanted advances towards younger guys.

via urbandictionary.comVery good. See, its funny because I'm not in the greatest shape, and I'm 35 now. But I've never been obsessed with how I look. I mean dont get me wrong, I want to look clean and well kept, but I'm not going to jump off a bridge if I'm overweight. I dont blame anyone else for how I look. I know I chose to eat the things I did. I would love to lose 50 or more though. If for nothing more than health reasons.

oh, that is too bad. You guys shouldn't classify each other like that. Everyone is just a person to meet - some people are more fuglier, and you might not want to sleep with them, and some may be more skinny and twink, and you might not like them either...but everyone could at any time be cool. I dunno, I just think whoever is interesting is cool, but maybe I am naive, and people in gay bars don't have time for friends or whatever. Sure, there are people you know you don't want to talk to...but to categorize them and dismiss them out of hand seems harsh.
But, maybe that's what the gay boys have to do. i wouldn't know. I kind of like older men, and I don't care about chub (insofar as it doesn't interfere with the function of the weiner) and I would just talk to whoever is clever and nice. If someone was not clever and nice, I wouldn't categorize them, i would just say "i don't want to talk to them b/c they aren't clever and nice".

But, I hear you gay boys are hella picky bitches.

However, I would never discourage anyone from getting in better shape, and I notice I attract a lot more fun stuff when I am in shape. Besides the bonus of being healthy.
I would drop a guy if he wasn't healthy enough for his wiener to work whenever I wanted it to, I have to admit. But that would have nothing to do with how he looks.
Yes, I realize you guys don't care what I think...

No. And I am a very adamant shopper, but one who doesn't care about Brands at all, only about how flattering they look on me - therefore, if someone cares more for brands than sexiness, I can't hang. I will say, i love clothes and jewelry shopping more than anything.

i will also say: What is there to care about besides if the weiner works good? Sure, their personality - but you have to have both. And, if I had to choose, i would pick the weiner (assuming the personality was semi acceptable) -
Why? -
Because I have friends. But my best friends don't have weiners, and I can't sleep with them.

what I hate is when you go to a bar and the bartender either hates "twinks" or "preps" or hates your friends and serves everyone before serving you. I'll fight a bitch.

not that this has happened to me, I'm just sayin. ;)

Hey DavidMN--

Sounds like an unpleasant experience, but this is how I look at it as a 20 year veteran of gay bars.

First, I doubt they were talking about you. A troll really is an older gay guy who tries to pick up on younger guys. They are usually quite obnoxious and aggressive about it, and even though I don't think name-calling is great, I don't really blame young guys for being annoyed with them. I was when I was young. You weren't doing that, you were just enjoying your drinks (what on earth is a Malibu Pineapple, sounds like a fast track to a hangover  ).

Second, if they were just being jerks and talking about "older" guys in general, that kind of talk and behavior isn't unique to gay men. A group of hot 24 year old straight girls are just as likely to make a nasty comment about unattractive older guys in their hangouts. It's probably a little more common in public gay places because our "community" promotes and fetishizes youth so much. There are also fewer hangouts for us, so we wind up with a wide range of ages, etc. in one place, with the only common denomenator (sp?) being that we are attracted to the same sex. That is invariably going to result in tensions between younger and older. I've heard really nasty things said by older guys about younger guys.

Finally, as you've said, one day these boys aren't going to be young and skinny anymore. In gay years, they aren't that far away. I personally wouldn't go back to my 20's for all the money in the world, even though I looked a lot better then. I wouldn't let their comments get to you.
