I can't remember who's friends with whom anymore.
The lines may have been drawn, but I think I was in the bathroom .... (All I know for sure is that the next guy who says, "All this interboard & intraboard fighting is a result of FM or SN inactivity" is NO friend of mine!)
So I'll just daydream that all of Jim Welander's concert photos suddenly & magically fall into my lap.
Please join me in a daydream! What Fleetwood Mac-related daydream do you want to have right now?

Tell me about this Jim, David. What does he have? Tell me so I can join in your daydream. I just came home from my post-op appointment and I'm getting ready for a nap.

He took the photos in my banner, plus you can find some of his photos in the Ed Whatsisname books. Do you have those? "Lady of the Stars" & "Rock's Mystical Lady"? Plus if you have the old old issue of Hot Wax from 1981 with Stevie on the cover, some of his photos from the Inglewood Forum Fleetwood Mac show are in that, too.

I'm not a collector, but I can see why that would make a nice fantasy/daydream. Your banner is beautiful, by the way. You have such an extensive collection, don't you?

 Oh, David, it doesn't matter who is friends with who, only who you are friends with.
My dream/fantasy is, as usual, the awesome new setlist of rarities on their next tour, Christine joining them...not that I didn't like it without her, but I think the awesome rarities would really need her. Especially as in my fantasy they are slated to do Never Forget and Honey Hi.

What's amazing to me--apart from its charm--is how much of the spirit & letter of the studio track they capture playing it live.

I got the TUSK rehearsal before I loved that song, so no. It should be on the ol' computer here, though. That would amaze me, too, because I would think the harmonies might be hard to nail on that one. I'd also like to take this opportunity to say that I love Stevie's harmonies on Over My Head from the Live album. They simply melt my heart. I just got the album.

I'd like to have all those Fin Costello pics. I love those pictures of the Mac. They look so young and cool in those photos.

Do you have a sample? I don't know the names of the photogs who took their pics.

Are those the pics that were taken of the band with Bill Graham on the grounds of the Oakland Coliseum in April 1976? or the ones of the band in '76 all draped sexily over Mick's old Packard?
Which photog is Fin Costello?

Stevie decides she needs her first-ever, full-time male backup singer and hires me. we go on a whirlwind tour, including small clubs and large arenas, doing a set including her biggest hits and favorites voted in the set by her fans on her official website.
oh yeah, she puts me in her will.

Fin Costello on working with the Mac:
"I was working for US rock magazine Creem. And the brief was to get as many shots of Stevie as possible - at that time she was the most glamorous singer of the day. We borrowed a couple of unusual cars for the shoot, but I couldn't get her to leave her dog out of the photos, and we spent a fair amount of the time chasing it around the studio and the gig - where this shot was taken.
"While Fleetwood Mac were on stage the dog kicked up a terrific row in the dressing room, and the looks of murderous intent on the faces of the road crew were priceless. Having artists take partners on the road was never seen as a good idea, but taking a dog along was something else altogether."

And from another mag:
"If I remember rightly they were on a bill with Deep Purple and Rory Gallagher. Before the line-up change, things hadn't been going well for them. I had a friend who was asked to join but when he went to watch them play, there were only about 50 people there, so he declined. Deep Purple were very successful at the time, and I believe Fleetwood Mac only really got the tour because they had the same agent. They were big shows too. After Led Zeppelin, all the bands wanted to play enormous halls with extravagant light shows - which, of course, cost a packet and were superseded almost immediately."
"I'd known them for ten years, and John and Mick were excited about how things were going. But I was actually there for Creem magazine to get a shot of Stevie for a Stars In Their Cars series. I had two cars there, a Packard and a Hot Rod. I got the shots of Stevie, then the whole band by the car too, by way of appeasement - Christine really wasn't happy with the attention Stevie got."

Awesome. I really love all those shots. So Chris wasn't happy with the attention Stevie got at one of the photo shoots? I thought she never got jealous  Hmmm...

But you know how Stevie says Chris never was jealous of her? Well, wait, I think Stevie said that if Chris was ever jealous of her she sure didn't show it. Yeah, that's it. Well, where did we get this idea that Chris was never jealous? Did Chris say that or Mick? I can't remember.

One of my favorite moments - and I can't remember where it's from because I was quite drunk while viewing it....
But Chris was sitting among a group and she was pretending to interview herself and said something to the effect of..."what's it like to be a sex symbol..." And drunkenly I said, "ASK STEVIE NICKS..." Then Chris said, "I don't know, Ask Stevie" or something...and I died.
Anyone know what that is from?

Heheh...no actually, Chris once said that she was a little jealous of Stevie in the early days, but she learned to like her, particularly for her sense of humor.
Let's face it: Stevie undoubtedly did all she humanly could to befriend Chris. That's just Stevie's personality.
Let's face it: If Chris had been seething with jealousy all through the '70s, there is no way in hell that Stevie & Margi would have convinced Chris to start wearing platform boots & chiffon on the Rumours & Tusk tours. A seethingly jealous woman would have, upon being asked, shoved that chiffon so far up the asker's bunghole that she'd have needed a colonoscopy to extricate it. I hate to be crude, but ... well, actually, I like being crude!

I don't see why he would have been confused though, as he stated he knew the band for 10 years previous to that shoot so he must have known Christine well. That said memory can be a funny thing.
Sometimes people misinterpret things, though. Lots of times. Especially men. Sometimes they also make things up. Lots of times. I'm not sure I buy it. She may have made a joke about it, but that is different.

Sometimes people plan on watching a movie & going to bed, then they notice that all the cool kids are hanging out on The Ledge, so they decide to crack open a beer and see what's what.

True. And it's possible that Chris was just fed up with the whole photo shoot rather than Stevie getting the attention.

Also, it seems like even if she was mad she wouldn't say anything (about Stevie).
But, I'm not her best friend or anything, I guess it's possible she said things.
