Yeah. It's random. Super random. But my friend and I have just discovered Duran Duran and she is wild to know who this fine chap is.
Any information, anyone?

The clip is taken from the video for Burning the Ground.
Thanks!!
That would be the one and only John Taylor, super fine and super sexy! Both him and lead singer Simon LeBon were regarded as the hunks of the band, but John was the only one who aged remarkably well.

Looks like Andy Taylor - there are/were three guys called Taylor in that band, but I think that guy is Andy :)
Edit: Or maybe John  I always mixed them up anyway...

Wow! You guys are quick. Thanks so much. Gemma will be well thrilled.
We ran out and bought the DVD of the videos and we're getting to know most of them only by nicknames. We know Simon and Nick, but beyond that it's just "Gemma's sexy guy", "quiet Italian-looking dude" and a guy with a huge mane of hair we refer to as "The Lion King" or "Mufasa". I guess we'll work them all out sooner or later.
Thanks for your help!
PS: Nick forever! <a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b372/EO17/nickstart2.gif" border="0" alt="Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting"></a>
Oooh, I looooove Nick Rhodes. He STILL rocks the makeup to this day.

"Burning the Ground"?!?! Oh the flashbacks. Can you smell these colors I'm hearing?
That's definitely John (Taylor) - the bassist. The other Taylors are Andy (guitarist - "Lion King") and Roger (drummer - "Italian guy" - not to be confused with the drummer of the same name from Queen).
That is the lineup (plus Simon & Nick) until 1985, then they all went solo & etc. and didn't recovene as the original lineup until 2004. It's kinda like the Mac - a different lineup for nearly every album between '85 & '04.
If you like John - make sure to check out The Power Station album (with the late Robert Palmer on vocals) and John's 2 solo albums. He even had a song "I Do What I Do" on the 9-1/2 Weeks movie soundtrack.

At some point was John Taylor not married to Amanda de Cadenet and their daughter is now what ? 17/18?

I think so....I know that all but 1 of the 5 members eventually married models. The 5th guy married a make-up artist. Typical.

Man, I remember the Duran Duran days....Hungry Like the Wolf...
Seriously though, I think they were/are very talented. Rio was a good song too.

Hang on ... we're confused again.
This is the guy we've been calling Mufasa:
<a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b372/EO17/n2.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting"></a>
And the guy we've been calling John [IE Gemma's sexy guy]:

So ... are they the same person?!
Sorry for being thick. Love is blind.
And Nick is hot. Inconsistently, perhaps, but by and large hot. ;)

That whole album was pretty good. I just played it in my car the other day. :woohoo: Duran Duran was/were *smokin'* back in 1982; i was in 7th grade and we would all endlessly discuss which member we loved most while we walked to school. I loved Roger the drummer. (Not as much as I loved Lindsey, of course!! ) I had 2 friends that cut out of school to try and walk to the mall in the snow to buy tickets to a Duran Duran concert-- they were picked up halfway there by cops LOL.
I almost went with them, good thing I didn't, I'd still be grounded.....
:) My dad ended up taking me anyway, good guy that he was.
