I just lost my job. They are doing away with U.S. coders (which I take as they are going overseas for cheaper labor costs  ). All prayers and good thoughts are welcome. A friend of mine might be able to get me another job, but I still feel like sh*t right now. :(
All this 2 days before I enjoy a weekend in Philadelphia. Great.

Oh Christy I'm so sorry. :( Losing a job is never easy. You will definitely get a slot on my prayer list!!!!
Good luck - and don't let it put a damper on your vacation...even in the midst of job loss you deserve to have a good time and unwind and forget about life stresses for a bit :o) Take care...

Good luck Christy. You'll find something else, and look at the bright side, maybe you'll find something you like a lot better and it will prove to be a better career move . Look at it like an opportunity instead of a loss!

I'm sorry Christy. I got laid off last year on 12/30. I've now found a better job with better pay, so keep your chin up and remember when a door closes a window opens.
You're in my thoughts.

I'm really sorry to hear that, Christy. As much as it stings right now though, I'm as confident as everyone else here that you'll find something even better very soon.
Enjoy every minute of that vacation -- you've earned it! :xoxo:

Hey Christy...losing a job is a bummer. I made a change in career after the fall of the aero-industry, and I am forever thankful that happened! I find you to be incredibly bright with a wonderful personality so I am sure, no matter what comes to you, you will do great! As everyone said, enjoy your trip to the fullest as it may be pound-pavement when you return. Hugssss and good thoughts your way that everything is as you wish. Take care, and feel free to bitch about the situation here. :wavey:

That sucks!
I hope you find a new job you really love, and that you get to have a little break (without job search)before it starts!

I'm also sorry to hear about this, Christy. Everything will work out even though it is hard to see that now. (((hugs)))
That is so weird. I was just wondering today if you have gone to Philly yet or not.
I've been laid off before & something better is always around the corner. You'll find a job when you get back. Don't worry.
Enjoy your trip.:wavey:

Sorry, Christie. That sucks, especially because you worked at home.
Enjoy your vacation, especially since you may not have another for awhile. You can use it to count your blessing that you live at home. I was unemployed for a long time a few years ago, but I had to pay rent and buy all my own stuff.
Like everyone said, it could be an awesome opportunity for growth and fun, and I hope it is.
Blessings to you.

Wow, I'm so sorry to hear about you losing your job, and W.'s people say our unemployment rate is improving....my ass!!!! Well, look at it this way. Every cloud has a silver lining, and when a door closes another one opens. This may be the break you have been looking for to do something you have always wanted to do or to find an even better job. Good luck, girl. You won't be down for long. :xoxo:

CHristie, my thoughts are with you as well. I hope you don't dwell too much on this while you're on vacation. Try hard to have a good time and you can focus on finding work when you get home. :xoxo:

I am sorry Christy. Too bad that you don’t live here in RI. They might have to hire the new part-time computer operator from the outside. Nobody wants it and they have to repost it.
Like a few others have pointed out maybe this will actually be a blessing in disguise and you will find a better job that you really enjoy. I will send you good job vibes.
