..as in the new band that features the one and only Jack White (White Stripes) and 3 other kick ass musicians.

I just bought their new cd and I am transfixed, mesmerized, awestruck. I bought it not having heard a note and I am literally pissing myself as I'm listening to it for the third time today. First and last tracks are the best. "Your Blue Veins" is killing me right now. Sorry Meg, but I think I could do without your novice drumming for awhile if this is the result...

Anyone heard it yet?

No. But what is the style of it?

You can definitely hear some White Stripey-ness in there somewhere, kinda alt rock, kinda blues, kinda hard to describe. Very textural and the kind of thing you want to listen to over and over. I think you'd like it.

I have a couple of the mp3s, and I am going to buy the album. I love fuzzy guitar and psychedelic harmonies in the Summertime—can't wait for June! "You're Blue Veins" is my favorite so far.
Here is a site that has
The Raconteurs, live on BBC Radio: (http://gorillavsbear.blogspot.com/2006/04/broken-boy-soldiers_02.html)

That's good to hear, I know a lot of critics have been claiming that the album isn't quite as great as the sum of its parts, and that it's all a bit mediocre - or at least never rises above the distinction of "side project" - beyond the first track. I'll have to give it a listen!

The other recent rock release that I've been hearing a lot about is Wolfmother's eponymous album. Black Sabbath riffs for the hipster crowd? Sounds good to me.

But no more new CDs for me for a little while, I just placed a big Amazon order.

They were on Conan the other night - loved 'em! They'll be here for ACL Fest. :blob2:

And I adore Wolfmother!!

Half of that sounds good to me---the Sabbath part :D.

What is a hipster metal riff anyway?

Whatever they want it to be, as long as nobody else has heard of it or likes it yet.

Oh hipsters, what will you latch onto next?
