Is Jessica still keeping up with Lindsey's official Web site?

"Keeping up with it" how? Putting someone in charge of a Lindsey buckingham website is like hiring someone to watch paint dry.

Or, ice melt.
It's like splashing paint on a canvas...

Running a Lindsey Buckingham website is a lot like painting, whereas running a Fleetwood Mac website is more like movie-making.

Of course she is, as if she'd ever stop.
There just really isn't anything to update at the moment.

She should use the down time to add more articles & photos. Besides which, there is always the past to track down, verify & present. An official site should serve as, among other things, a research tool for fans. Sadly, none of the official FM-related sites serve even adequately for this purpose.

She's been working on the discography, adding sections for guest appearances and such. But, like the rest of us, Jessica is a regular person who has to balance that project with work, school, and a personal life. What would be highest on your list of priorities - A website for a man who isn't exactly the most prolific musician out there, or your own life? I know what my answer would be.
Besides, it is always a struggle for her to get updates/improvements made because everything must first be approved by Lindsey's management.

She's been working on the discography, adding sections for guest appearances and such."been working on"?
Besides, it is always a struggle for her to get updates/improvements made because everything must first be approved by Lindsey's management.Which is precisely why that site makes such a poor research tool: management neither knows nor cares what day Lindsey appeared on Saturday Night Live. So if Jessica has to wait for clearance from management to put up a note that says "Lindsey played Bwana & Trouble on SNL on March 5, 1982," she'll be waiting forever.
It's back to the Penguin, I guess! Here's a site that can post a date for an SNL appearance without having to obtain "clearance" through some asinine bureaucracy. Such a setup is infinitely more beneficial to fans who want to actually know things than the "official site" method.

Occassionally, I would look at the website but became bored with seeking the updates/sections that never materialized. I am pleased the equipment section was finally assembled.
EDIT: Since David is on-board I have grammatically modified my post! No doubt it is still "incorrect!"
This is fun, especially considering there are innumerable variations of what is/isn't "correct!" I could modify this post for days...perhaps weeks on end! ;)

I am pleased the equipment section was finally assembled. :nod:Now that equipment section is a VERY interesting section that was added to this official site. I was very impressed. Can you imagine John Klinney doing such a thing on his official site? haahaaaahahaaa!!!

John Kinney's site used to be great... until it became official.
Jessica's site used to be great... until it became official.
I used to think it was a great injustice that The Penguin wasn't made the official Mac site that time, but now I'm thankful it wasn't.

Seriously, I don't think I've ever seen an official website that was really worth a damn. Most of them are focused almost exclusively on what is happening with the artist now (and many of them don't even have so much as a discography!), which means that the sites often remain stagnant for long periods of time. It seems that a lot of them are run by people who are nothing more than professional site designers with no real interest in the music of the given artist. Obviously, that's not the case with Jessica, but she can only do so much with the restraints his management puts on her and you can't blame her for that.

I'm pretty fond of the NicksFix, there's plenty of information there and the updates are reasonably frequent.

I think Jessica is a cool lady who obviously loves her subject.
Of course, in strict terms, Kinney is a fan, too--however, he's as poker-faced & uninvolved as Stevie was in the early '90s on klonopin. And this was BEFORE kinney went official. He used to run IRCs with marty every Sunday. Whereas Marty would roll up his sleeves & get in there & discuss fleetwood mac & proffer opinions & actually CHAT, kinney just sat there, sullen & silent, like a bump on a log, only stirring to tentative life when he had to issue a "warning" to someone for some silly thing. Kinney was the perpetual finger-wagger, & for all his self-confessed adoration of Stevie, Kinney has never in his online life--to my knowledge--had anything truly interesting or truly individual to say about her, her work or her career. He appears to be utterly opinion-free (again, don't believe this is all a result of being official--kinney was exactly like this long before going official).
So jessica is an interesting fan. To me, the most interesting lindsey fan of all was Les, & as it so happened, created an interesting site. The fans who themselves are the most interesting--lesley, steve macdougall, jeff kenney, lisa adelson, jessica, sara maitland, christine kilger, dan matsumoto--invariably make the most interesting sites on the band or its members, the kind of sites that repay you with repeated reading.

We are often thankful of that as well! who knows what we would have had to change/eliminate etc if we'd gone that route. Even if they're just little things, you lose so much control.

You guys were just too good for Fleetwood Mac and they knew it. I have a feeling that The Ledge would have either been eliminated or gone through a major overhaul if this did indeed become the official site.

I bet John would have never come out as he did over here at an official Mac-site. Everything would have gone through a managementfilter, and besides that: he couldn't appear at his own terms, but on Macterms so he'd fall into his automatic "the others have a lot more to mention than I". So untrue, this site proves it. The Penguin being unofficial is the best thing ever happened to us as Macfans.

can you imagine if The Ledge was the "official" Mac board
Moderators would be TOTAL board nazis
you wouldn't be able to post anything without approval
everyone would leave LOL
and i agree about official sites in general
sure, they should be utilized to keep fans informed with current goings on
but i think just as many people, probably more, would be more interested in their history of the person etc and that sites should be like a library where you can find anything you want to know :wavey:
