I just can't stand the movie he's in even without watching it (I already hated the book enough, I couldn't believe how badly written it was). Luckily critics crucified Da Vinci extravaganza in Cannes. I' ll still go to see it, even if only for Ian McKellen. :woohoo:
And I agree Tom Hanks needs an haircut now.

RomyYes, I heard critics panned it to the hilt.

It's called a wig or in more polite terms "hair piece." I used to work next to his production office...saw him all the time.
BALD.

Really?!! Actually, I can't decide whether I like the hair or not:rolleyes: but I am looking forward to the movie...I've just started to read the book.
Hate the mullet. Although I'm supposing that because that hairstyle is worn on a celeb it will now be pronounced moo-lay.

So, you hated the book, the movie reviews are bad, but you're going to see the movie?

Tom Hanks's hair is not technically a mullet. A mullet is when one's hair is really short up front and on the sides and long in the back...think David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust red mullet circa 1972 and you've got it. 'Course, there are all kinds of variations and styles, but it's usually in that vein. And now that I've explained the finer points of what constitutes a mullet, I'm going to go brush and style mine  :p :p
Tom Hanks has what we call "**** hair" and that is basically all it is. It looks like a bad piece per Richard's comment above.

Interestingly, Fox gave it a fairly good review yesterday.
I cannot wait to see it. In fact. I re read the book on Sunday just to refresh my memory!

I made the mistake of reading "code" after reading Angels and Demons. Then I was annoyed because basically they're the same book.
Very formulaic writer..that's annoying.
Still..because the Catholic Church is asking people to ban it -I'm going just to spite them :p
I'm not going opening weekend, but I've always loved Tom Hanks - so I'll go.

It's funny, I hated the book, but loved the premise of it. The writing is what really bugged me. I will definitely see the movie though because as I said, the whole idea intrigues me.

I'm afraid Tom Hanks's hair is the least of his problems...

"oppressively talky"
"Retarded, ridiculous and crushingly dull."
"awfully silly"
"You know a movie's a dud when even its self-flagellating albino killer monk isn't any fun. "
"duller than watching Da Vinci's paint dry"
"unforgivably dull"
"lifeless adaptation"
"unwieldy, bloated melodrama."
"melodramatic, sometimes lifeless."
Why am I getting the impression that this movie is kinda boring?

I loved the book and Ive read quite a few others that explore that whole premise further. Ive also read some of Dan Brown's other works and enjoyed them as well.
Personally I suspect there is something behind all the panning by the critics.
Especially when the book was on the best seller list for so long,

Do you know the German term for "mullet"? It's probably the best word in the entire language.
(By the way, anyone else oh so slightly annoyed by the inaccuracy of the title of this book/movie?)

I see you point, however the mullet has taken on many dubious forms in recent years. No, Tom Hanks' hair "style" isn't a traditional Kentucky Waterfall, yet there is a definite mullet tendancy. A little more stylized. Hence.......moo-lay. (bows with a flourish)
