The driver's name is Mark Martin. :wavey:

WHAT INSPIRED YOUR ROCK ANTHEM AND ARE YOU A BIG FAN OF HIP-HOP AND RAP? “I am, but, first of all, I’m 47. Most people don’t expect me to listen to rap and hip-hop, and I do and I really like it. But I will say this. Still, I’m coming home from somewhere the other day. It’s a rare occasion when I’m driving by myself and the radio station I was listening, AC-DC comes on and I did give myself a headache and I do have brain damage from listening to AC-DC at painful levels of volume. I do listen to everything. I do listen to country. I do have a love for AC-DC. The greatest singer alive is Stevie Nicks -- Neil Young, but I certainly do enjoy the latest stuff that’s out there and rap and hip-hop as well.”

More evidence for my theory...you know the one..."everyone likes Stevie Nicks!"

That's so awesome he said she's the greatest singer alive. Thanks for posting, Livia.

You know what? On Sunday my dad said "yeah, I heard some things by her the other day, and she's an even better singer than I thought she was before."

It's only a matter of time. Eventually everyone will come to realize the "power" of Stevie Nicks! :blob2: Did he say which songs, or at least try to describe to you what he was listening to, to make him realize that?

I tend to associate Nascar with "white trash republican gay bashers" - mostly because I don't see the attraction in racing and live in Dallas where there are so many of these types of people who are scary and really into it. One time, when Stevie was at a low-point in her career and tickets were only $13 (Whole Lotta Trouble Tour), I looked around at the crowd and thought I was at a Metallica concert.

I guess what I'm trying to say is - it doesn't surprise me that Stevie seems to be well-received among the Nascar crowd.

You were there, too, buddy - don't hate.
Brian J. told us awhile back that his metal online friends like Stevie. She's a crossover.
Also, I think some Nascar fans are not necessarily white trash (costs money to go, right) but just plain ol' rednecks. And since I would say, oh, about 99.9 percent of Stevie's fans are white, it all fits together...

Back in the old days it was a good old boys sport. Now, it's not. Due mostly to the sheer cost of the tix, growing marketing sponsorships, etc..

Also, I'm a NY native, which is about as far from redneck as possible, LOL, so I guess I'm helping buck the sterotypical trend.

I love Mark Martin, who drives the 6 car. (Hence my name!). The fact that he is a Stevie fan is just gravy!

And, before anyone gets any ideas that I'm just some car fan crashin the boards, I've been around for a looooong time - back to the old Ledge boards from the late 90s. I really enjoy reading all the fun posts from you guys - although I don't get to post as much as I like. But, I just had to chime in on two of my favorite things - Stevie and Mark Martin!

Cheers and good wishes to all ,

alot of my fellow metal fans abso-tively HATE anything related to Fleetwood Mac (Especially Lindsey Buckingham, Dont ask me why, Ya dont wanna know!!!), Outside of Stevie Nicks that is...Stevie in their eyes is a metal chick no matter if her music is nowhere as near to sounding metal.

As for NASCAR, I have been a fan all my life...And yes, Mark Martin is my favorite driver (Matt Kenseth & Tony Stewart round out my top #3), Which has abso-tively nothing to do with his like of Stevie Nicks. Hell, We're planning on ordering an Oklahoma "Mark Martin" car tag (Oklahoma has more personalized car tag options than any other state) for our "black 'deth Wild Life Eradicator/Hippie destroyin' Nissan".
